Grave Digger Unveils "Kingdom Of Skulls" Video
In the year 2025 the German metal institution celebrates its 45th anniversary. Founded in 1980 in Gladbeck/Germany, they set out to conquer the world. Who would have thought that 45 years later Grave Digger would be one of the most important, consistent and influential metal bands from Germany. With the release of the album "Heavy Metal Breakdown" in 1984, an unprecedented career began that will find its logical continuation with their new album "Bone Collector," on January 17, 2025.
Chris Boltendahl comments: "Yeah, here it is at last, our first track 'Kingdom Of Skulls' from the new album 'Bone Collector,' including the accompanying video clip: a good portion of heavy metal with straight guitar riffs, pumping bass, powerful drums and my ever-popular grating iron tube. As if time had stood still in the 80s, the track blasts out of the speakers in the very best old-school style. No bling-bling, just heavy metal as it should be... and this awesome oldschool video to boot! More Grave Digger trademarks in one song? That's hardly possible, so enjoy this hot piece of metal and look forward to what's to come. Your Chris “Reaper” Boltendahl" More...
Grave Digger To Release New Album In January
In the year 2025 the German metal institution celebrates its 45th anniversary. Founded in 1980 in Gladbeck, Germany, they moved out to conquer the world.
"Here it is at last, our new studio album, true to the motto: #gravediggeroldschool. With Tobi Kersting in the band, we have focused on the essentials of our sound again after many years with numerous concept albums: Concise straightforward metal songs that burn themselves into your brain stems after the first listen. 'Bone Collector' doesn't sound like off-the-shelf stuff, but highly energetic, fresh and you'll notice that we had a lot of fun with the songs. We're looking forward to your reaction, the release of the album in January and 45 years of Grave Digger live with you." states band leader Chris Boltendahl.
Today also marks the pre-sale start for "Bone Collector," which will be released as a CD digipak, picture vinyl, colored marbled vinyl, RPM exclusive splatter vinyl and digitally. At the RPM & ROAR Mailorder Shop, the limited splatter vinyl and the digipak are also available as a bundle with the exclusive “Old School” shirt. You can place your order here. Grave Digger Reveals New Album Details
German metal institution, Grave Digger, announces the release of their new album "Symbol Of Eternity."
Grave Digger have been an integral part of the German heavy metal scene for over four decades. Chris Boltendahl, Axel Ritt, Jens Becker and Marcus Kniep are not only a force to be reckoned with in the live sector, they also regularly deliver high-quality heavy metal albums.
On their latest album, "Symbol Of Eternity," they continue to spin the story of the Crusaders... after having dealt with it once before on the album "Knights Of The Cross," they devote themselves once again to the fabled history of the Templars.
Razor-sharp riffs, opulent choir arrangements and the distinctive voice of Chris Boltendahl are components of Grave Digger's new work. All the trademarks that have made the band stand out for four decades can be heard on the album... an original and hard album is "Symbol of become eternity". And yet, next to the merciless riffs, like in the opening headbanger "Battle Cry", melodic refrains are always in the foreground... hard double bass attacks alternating with mid-tempo songs and the almost doom-like title track will make every headbanger's heart beat faster.
Grave Digger have never been so varied and are not afraid to think outside the box like on the bonus track "Hellas Hellas" which is a cover of the Greek superstar Vasilis Papakonstantinou in which Chris sings Greek for the first time in his career and the band was even able to win Vasilis himself for some vocal passages. Open your ears and eyes when the new album will be in stores worldwide on August 26, and you can take another journey into the secret world of the Templars... The king is dead... long live the king! Grave Digger Debuts New Music Video
40 years of pure Teutonic steel, 40 years of iconic Grave Digger: 2020 marks a glorious anniversary of one of the most distinctive metal bands of German heavy metal! May 29th will see these titans release their 20th studio album, "Fields Of Blood," via Napalm Records. But, "Fields Of Blood" is not just a very special anniversary album, after The Clans Will Rise Again and Tunes Of War, this is the final part of Grave Digger's epic Scottish Highlands trilogy!
"Fields Of Blood" will take us on an emotional journey through Scottish history and into explosive sound landscapes. Driving riffs and epic choruses meet the famous "Great Highland Bagpipes": In the Highlands, the battlefields of Stirling, Bannockburn and Culloden, the listener will find himself on a rollercoaster between grief and triumph again, losses and wins with the Scottish freedom fighters in an auditory battle of unique traditional metal.
After releasing two previous singles – the merciless banger "All For The Kingdom" and the touching metal ballad “Thousand Tears” featuring Noora of Battle Beast – today, Grave Digger present us with a third powerful single of epic heavy metal thunder, “Lions Of The Sea”!
Says frontman Chris Boltendahl:
"'Lions Of The Sea'... a hurricane of metal hymn... the battle of the Scots against the Vikings... cutting riffing and a chorus that winds through your cortex... you will be startled at night, at sea find yourself in battle and roar the chorus of “Lions of the Sea” from your hoarse throats... over and over again until you are the victorious to leave the battlefield at sea." Grave Digger Reveals New Album Details
With metal anthems like 'Heavy Metal Breakdown', Grave Digger became one of the most influential and pioneering bands of the German heavy metal scene since the early 80s, and 2020 will celebrate the 40th anniversary of these Teutonic metal masters in glorious style!
On their 20th studio album, titled Fields Of Blood, the band around frontman Chris Boltendahl continues their epic Highlands story! Fields of Blood is the logic consequence of a legendary trilogy and an auditory battle of unique traditional metal. Slated for a release on May 29th via Napalm Records, Fields Of Blood will take us on an emotional journey through Scottish history and into explosive sound landscapes.
Driving riffs and epic choruses meet the famous "Great Highland Bagpipes": In the Highlands, the battlefields of Stirling, Bannockburn and Culloden, the listener will find himself on a rollercoaster between grief and triumph again, suffers and wins with the Scottish freedom fighters. After "The Clans Will Rise Again" and "Tunes Of War", Grave Digger close their Highland saga in epic style. Today, the iconic band has not only unveiled the incredible album artwork, but is also sharing a first single to the epic magnum opus, “All For The Kingdom”! And hell yes, this track perfectly sets the scene for the final and long-awaited part of their Scottish highland trilogy: "All for the Kingdom" is a mercilessly epic song that shows the direction of the new Grave Digger album. No prisoners are taken here and Grave Digger prove what they do best even after 40 years of their impressive band history. Choruses and riffs that cut into your ear canals and hearts to stay there, as well as hundreds of thousands Highlanders have remained on the battlefields, believing in a better life in freedom and independence. Watch Grave Digger's brand new video for the drifting riff and heavy metal masterpiece, "All For The Kingdom," below.
"We did it again and put on the kilts... as we always got fascinated by Scotland and its history." Says frontman Chris Boltendahl. "For a long time we considered when the right time would be to return to the Highlands, delve into their legends and myths. Our 40th band anniversary seems to be the right occasion for this and so we take you on a trip for the third time... put on the kilts and pull out your swords and axes, follows us to Stirling and Culloden and experience up close Scottish history, up close, authentic and emotional. As William Wallace / Braveheart said: Yes, they may take our lives. But they never take away our freedom!" More...
