Napalm Death Reveals New Album Details
UK grindcore pioneers Napalm Death are delighted to announce their upcoming studio album release "Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism," to be released on September 18th, 2020 via Century Media Records.
"Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism" is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2015’s acclaimed "Apex Predator – Easy Meat" album, was again recorded with longtime producer Russ Russell and features artwork by Frode Sylthe (seen below).
Napalm Death’s vocalist Mark "Barney" Greenway checked in with the following comment about the upcoming album and its theme:
"The phrase sticking in my mind when I started thinking about the lyrical direction for this album was “the other”. You could recognise at the time that there was a rapidly growing fear and paranoia being generated about everybody, from migrating people to people with fluid sexuality and this was starting to manifest itself in very antagonistic reactions that you felt were almost verging on violence. Not everybody resorts to such reactions of course, but even the basic lack of understanding can become toxic over time. I’m not saying that this is an entirely new phenomenon, but it has been stoked in recent history by some particularly attack-minded people in more political circles and, as ever, I felt that it would be the natural antidote to endorse basic humanity and solidarity with all.
"The artwork specifically uses a white dove as a centrepiece, which of course is a commonly recognised symbol of peace and cooperation. The dove has been mauled very violently by a sterilising hand and in death appears particularly broken and bloodied. However, through the violence you can see an equality symbol in blood on the chest of the dove, which perhaps demonstrates – visually at least – that equality cuts through in the end. A positive amidst many negatives then, much like the album title itself being a bit of an oxymoron – the celebration of humanity even in the mangling jaws of negativity”. More...

Napalm Death To Release New Single
After a busy and highly successful past year of international touring and continued work on a new studio album, UK Grindcore pioneers Napalm Death are now pleased to announce a new 7” / Digital EP to be released via Century Media Records on February 7th, 2020, stressing the start of their “Campaign For Musical Destruction” headlining tour of Europe alongside EyeHateGod, Misery Index, Rotten Sound and Bat.
The EP is entitled "Logic Ravaged By Brute Force" and includes the brand-new title-track as well as a freshly recorded cover version of "White Kross," originally by Sonic Youth. This Double-A-Side EP is not only another highly collectible item in good old Napalm Death tradition, but also meant as first little teaser for the band’s upcoming studio album, expected for release later in 2020.
Napalm Death’s frontman Mark "Barney" Greenway checked in with the following comment about the EP: "In keeping with Napalm Death custom, we had a vast swathe of new songs with many different flavours. So then naturally we moved into single territory and opted for 'Logic Ravaged By Brute Force'. It's the coldness and desperation of the guitar chords and voice that swung it. And then, seeing as Sonic Youth mash chords like few others, this cover of 'White Kross' just seemed to lift itself beyond the constraints of cover - or filler - song into a bit of a rumbling wall-of-sound epic."
The "Logic Ravaged By Brute Force” 7" EP will be available in the following versions:
• Black vinyl – Unlimited
• Blue vinyl – 200x copies via CM Distro Europe
• Light Green vinyl – 100x copies via CM Webshop Europe
• Neon Yellow vinyl – 100x copies via CM Webshop USA (Out February 28th!)
• Orange vinyl – 600x Exclusively from the band on the road!
