The Osbournes Offer Up Big Reward For Burglar

SHARON OSBOURNE tonight said that she hoped someone would claim a £100,000 reward before Christmas for information leading to a conviction over a massive jewellery raid at her country home.

A burglar made off with gems worth £2 million despite being put in a headlock by Sharon’s husband Ozzy at the family mansion in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, last month.

In a pre-recorded message for the BBC’s Crimewatch programme, Sharon pleaded with viewers who knew the raider to “turn him in” and revealed that she feels anxious being in the house following the incident.

“I hope that somebody out there realises that there’s a £100,000 reward for this jewellery,” she said. More...

Eyehategod Says Pantera Were Discussing Reunion

EYEHATEGOD vocalist Mike D. Williams has posted the following message from the band at his Southern Nihilism Front website (www.southernnihilismfront.com):

"I know by now you've all heard this bullshit... Its sad as fuck, I can't even put into words the scope of the violence involved in this... a couple of my other friends were shot as well.

The fucked up thing is that the shooter was apparently pissed 'cos Pantera broke up. The goddamn irony of it all is (nothing was set in stone), but they were just starting to talk about doing some reunion shows and put all their petty differences aside. What a fuckin shame.

I got tons a stories about how much fun we had whenever we hung with Dime, staying at his house, BBq'ing and generally getting blitzed, cuttin' up and talkin' trash..

Blasting D.A.Coe and KISS with that freakin dry ice machine/light show in his living room (!!) and even going fishing with him in Arlington. We'll never forget all that. The dude lived to have a good time.

...Roll the dice and do a shot of Blacktooth for Ya boy... EHG 2004."

Brides of Destruction To Move Forward

BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION guitarist Tracii Guns has posted the following message in the "Talk Shit" section of the band's official website (www.BridesOfDestruction.com):

"Ok,
I am back,,,, the Brides are back.

I have had great talks with London and Scot and we have decided to move forward with THE BRIDES. We are gonna take it slow and make sure we get the right guy to fill in for Nikki. As you know Nikki has to leave for now and their is a possibility that he may not ever come back to the Brides so, whether or not the new bass player is temporary or not we have to choose assuming that he will be a permanent member of the Brides brotherhood.

We are finishing up the new songs right now. As soon as we find our new brother we will go straight into rehearsal and recording.

As always, this band relys on the support of our fans so, we are open to all suggestions, connections and critics. Feel free to email me at theramin@gmail.com

The wedding is over lets get the reception cookin

Love , Tracii."

Ozzy Pulls Out Of Royal Variety Performance

The Sun reports that Ozzy Osbourne has pulled out of tonight's Royal Variety Performance due to an injury suffered during his quad bike accident. "Ozzy Osbourne has reluctantly cancelled his appearance at tonight's performance due to a re-occurring problem with a plate inserted into his shoulder after his quad bike accident exactly one year ago," Ozzy's label said in a statement. "Adjustments need to be made to the plate which is making Ozzy very uncomfortable at present. Although having made a remarkable recovery from the life-threatening accident, Ozzy needs the procedure as soon as possible."

The Haunted's Peter Dolving Talks About Shooting

THE HAUNTED's frontman Peter Dolving rants about Dimebag Darrell and all sorts of tangentially related stuff. THE HAUNTED were touring with SHADOWS FALL and DAMAGEPLAN when the shooting happened.

"I guess I have to puke these last couple of weeks out of me. Six-seven weeks on tour sure as fuck leave their tracks even though it feels as if it´s been a really good one.

First off the whole fucking ordeal with the shooting; I don´t know what to say. A couple of years ago I got a similar phonecallas the one I got yesterday. It was my little sis that time. She miracuosly survived the five slugs her ex shot her with at point blank range. More...

Conservative Site Trashes Dime, Metal And Its Fans

The same people who tell us to "...judge not less ye be judged, love our neighbor, forgive the sins of others, do what Jesus would do, mourn the loss of others, get to know a person for them as an individual, not for what they look like, be humble and meek, care for the feelings of others, reach out to those in need, every human is made in the image of God, " and most of all "treat everyone, living and dead, with respect, love and compassion" now say "good riddance" to Dimebag Darrell.

An excerpt from the Iconoclast's Contributing Editor William Grim, who feels such a way, is below:

"But one can see why the heavy metal fans so closely identified with Mr. Abbott. He was an ignorant, barbaric, untalented possessor of a guitar and large amplifier system. Freakish in appearance, more simian than human, he was the performer of a type of "entertainment" that can be likened only to a gorilla on PCP. Lacking subtlety, wit, style, emotional range and anything approaching even the smallest iota of intellectual or musical interest, Mr. Abbott was part of a generation that has confused sputum with art and involuntary reflex actions with emotion."

As for those heavy metal fans who attended the vigils for Dime... "It was an assemblage of ignorant, semi-human barbarians who were filthy in attire and manner, intellectually incoherent and above all else, hideously ugly to the point of physical deformity. Here is a definite case in which the outer appearance of these "fans" accurately represented the hideousness of their souls. That the physical deformity of their ugliness was self-inflicted makes the spiritual tragedy of their misspent lives all the more tragic."

And for Heavy Metal in general... "[it] creates a mindset among its devotees in which Mr. Abbott's assassination was an event that was all but waiting to happen."

Mr. Grim can be reached at editors@iconoclast.ca.

Ex-Crimson Glory Frontman Returns

Black Lotus is really proud to announce the signing of the legendary Crimson Glory singer, Midnight, who returns after 16 years in absolute silence.

Words are not enough to describe his truly unique voice, which has marked the history of recorded music and placed him among the most influential singers of the 1980’s.

The years have passed, but Midnight refused to get involved in any musical projects after the amazing Crimson Glory albums. And the silence breaks so he returns to the frontline with his first stunning solo work titled “Sakada” to be released around April 2005.

In his comeback (always shall be referred as the comeback of the century!), he is surrounded by new musicians (Phil Anderson/Hammer Dulcimer, Drums, Washboard, other percussion, Scott Gibson/ Electric Guitar, Bass, Mandolin) as well as old friends, like Ben Jackson (the rhythm guitarist of Crimson Glory) and other special guests.

Bob Katsionis Joins Firewind

Bob has become an official member of heavy power metallers Firewind, the band of famous guitar virtuoso Gus G. and made his debut with them in their 3rd release “Forged By Fire”, already out in Japan through Toshiba-EMI with a release date for Rest Of World settled for January 2005 through Century Media.

Bob’s debut cd “Turn of My Century” was released in Japan following the success of “Imaginary Force” (entered BURRN! Magazine’s best selling cd charts for 2 months in positions 26 and 41), featuring previously unreleased video clip of “Scary Groovie” and 5 minute keyboard and guitar jamming/shredding by Bob, as well as new, amazing cover artwork made by Havancsak Gyula who also did the artwork for the latest Annihilator cd “All For You” as well as for their forthcoming DVD release.

Imaginery‘s second cd entitled “Long Lost Pride” is out in Japan through Avalon/Marquee records. Bob is now joined by two Swedish fellows, singer Bjorn Jannsson (Tears Of Anger) and bassist Olof Sundfeldt (System Shock) while drums are performed by producer Mark Adrian. This cd includes 11 tracks of Modern Melodic Heavy/Power Metal in the vein of Symphony X, Ark and Children of Bodom. European/R.O.W released will be handled most possibly by Lion Music, Finland. Guest performances/solos by Gus G, Marcel Coenen (Sun Caged) and Michael Harris(Chastain).

Bob has just finished editing Nightfall’s first promo video (also directed by him) for the track “Swollen” out of Greek gothic-deathsters’ new cd entitled: “Lyssa: Rural Gods And Astonishing Punishments” where he has recorded keyboards and guitars as in previous release “I Am Jesus”.

Jeff Waters, guitarist and main man of the legendary annihilator, has confirmed his appearance in Bob Katsionis’ next, 3rd studio album. Also featured in this next release will be once again guitar master Marcel Coenen.

Dark Moor Reveal "Beyond The Sea" Tracklisting

Dark Moor will release their new album entitled "Beyond The Sea" in March 2005. The album was recorded at M20 (drums and backing vocals) and New Sin Studios. The cover artwork has been painted by Derek Gores (Kamelot).

The first edition of the album will be limited to 5000 copies and contains an exclusive bonus track. In this new amazing album the band shows less baroque elements, heavier guitars and a more powerful sound than on their previous recordings. Probably, the tracks are more direct than in the past...this time the band wanted to be more focussed in their search for the right melodies than in an overloaded production.

Tracklisting:
1. Before the Duel
2. Miracles
3. Houdini's The Great Escapade
4. Through the Gates of the Silver Key (Interlude)
5. The Silver Key
6. Green Eyes
7. Going On
8. Beyond the Sea
9. Iulius Caesar (Interlude)
10.Alea Jacta
11.Vivaldi´s Winter (Bonus Track)

New Meshuggah Album Release Date Tentatively Set

Nuclear Blast Records has set an April 11, 2005 tentative European release date for the new Meshuggah studio album, "Catch 33".

In a recent interview with the Chronicles of Chaos extreme music webzine, Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake said of the upcoming CD, "It's not a proper full-length if you will, more like an experimental full-length. Like [the recently issued EP] 'I', it will be one single song, but at full-length. It's going to be much more guitar riff based than anything we have ever done as well, so there won't be as much of the drumming that kind of throws you off — just more straightforward, but at the same time totally insane riffing. . . It's definitely experimental and we're not telling people that this is the next official full-length. If you're looking for another 'Chaosphere' or another 'Nothing' that contains a bunch of different songs, then this is probably not the album that you want to buy, but if you're interested in anything that we're doing then it's something you should check out. Like I said, I'm sure that Meshuggah fans will love it. It's definitely a step to the side of what we're doing right now."

Walmart Sued Over Evanescence

Major US retail chain Wal-Mart is being sued over its decision to stock the Evanescence CD/DVD 'Anywhere But Home'. The law suit has been taken out by Trevin Skeens from Brownsville, who claims that the store has no sticker on the release to warn people that the song 'Thoughtless' contains a profanity. Skeens is demanding that Wal-Mart either censor the release, or remove it from the shelves of its Maryland outlets. He's also seeking compensation.
