SHARON OSBOURNE tonight said that she hoped someone would claim a £100,000 reward before Christmas for information leading to a conviction over a massive jewellery raid at her country home.

A burglar made off with gems worth £2 million despite being put in a headlock by Sharon’s husband Ozzy at the family mansion in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, last month.

In a pre-recorded message for the BBC’s Crimewatch programme, Sharon pleaded with viewers who knew the raider to “turn him in” and revealed that she feels anxious being in the house following the incident.

“I hope that somebody out there realises that there’s a £100,000 reward for this jewellery,” she said.

“I hope that, because it’s near Christmas and everybody needs cash for Christmas ... this will spur somebody on to say ’You know what? I know who did it and why not get the money?”’

The reward is believed to be one of the biggest offered in criminal history.

She said she still felt “angry and scared” about the incident and added: “I don’t feel quite right yet in the house.

“It will probably take some time before I feel comfortable there again.”

Items taken during the burglary included wedding rings, an engagement ring, pearl and diamond necklaces, a large 52 carat sapphire ring and two pairs of diamond earrings, which Sharon says are “totally irreplaceable”.

The offender is described as 5ft 10in tall, light skinned, of very slim build and wearing a light jacket, dark trousers, trainers and a ski mask.

Although her brief slot about the break-in did not feature one of the programme’s trademark reconstructions, Sharon did give another account of Ozzy’s dramatic struggle with the intruder.

She revealed that the former Black Sabbath frontman had pushed the raider out of the window after putting him into a headlock.

“Ozzy got up to go to the bathroom and as he was on his way through to the bathroom, he thought he saw somebody in the dressing room,” she said.

“He was half asleep, half awake, so he finished in the bathroom then went into the dressing room and saw this guy running across the room trying to get out of the window.

“So Ozzy then tackled him and got him in a headlock and he was half way out of the window at this time and then just basically pushed him out the window.

“After he said we were burgled, I called the police and then I went to look for my wedding rings which I keep by the side of my bed gone.”

The message was pre-recorded as Sharon was appearing at the Royal Variety Performance tonight with daughter Kelly to send husband Ozzy’s apologies for being unable to attend.

The wildman singer had to pull out of a planned performance at the last minute because he needs an operation to adjust a metal plate inserted in his shoulder after a quad bike crash last year.
