Morte Incandescente Releasing New Album
War Arts Productions just set March 18th as the international release date for Morte Incandescente's "...o mundo morreu" album.
As ever, this long-running Portuguese cult returns to the old days of black metal, when density and purity were a constant surface of the scene. The band's latest "...o mundo morreu" (English: "...The World Died!") is an album that transports the listener to the past, a past which is still present to the puritan listener.
It's an album that is not meant to break any boundaries nor limits nor anything, but to invoke the timeless thought that black metal still remains pure in its clearest form to a select few people. The track listing is:
1. Diz nao a vida
2. Num cemiterio
3. O final de uma era
4. Nunca mais ira amanhecer
5. Disturbio absoluto
6. Ser incredulo
7. Nas esquinas da alma
8. O sol nao nasce mais
9. Tiro no escuro

Edmonton, AB's Van Halst is a fierce, empowering force of hard rock fused with metal. Infernal Curse Releasing New Album
At long last, Infernal Curse reveals full details on second album, "Apocalipsis," which is set for international release on February 26th via Iron Bonehead Productions.
Hailing from the oft-overlooked scene of Argentina, Infernal Curse is a study in patience and defiance. Forming in 2008, early on the band's sound was strictly within the blown-out blackthrash characteristic of South America's most-underground metal, culminating in the clattering 'n' chaotic "Awakening of the Damned" debut LP in 2012.
However, it was with the Iron Bonehead-released mini-album "The End Upon Us" in 2014 where Infernal Curse truly found its stride. Reigning in the chaos for a more pulsing form of barbarity, the power-trio was violent and virulent as ever, but pushed the still-overwhelming physicality into the beyond.
Now, with "Apocalipsis," Infernal Curse has pushed into soul-devouring, hideous and hypnotic territory on an album full of extremes. The track listing is as follows:
1. o ov soahX
2. Litanies Unto Djinn
3. Sin Of Iblis
4. Nasheed Al Mut
5. Obituaries
6. Fragments Of Annihilation
7. Adharma
8. Upon Death He Dwells

Convulse Releasing "Cycle Of Revenge"
Convulse has announced "Cycle of Revenge" will drop via Svart Records on March 18th, 2016. The label also issued this statement:
"As one of the oldest Finnish death metal veterans the musicians from Convulse have a somewhat interesting history, to say the least. Beginning as a full-on death metal band in 1990, the debut demo, 'Resuscitation of Evilness,' as well as the 1991 debut album, 'World Without God,' were more or less successful attempts from Convulse to flex their death metal muscles for the whole world.
"In 1993, Convulse returned to the limelight again, offering two new songs on the 'Lost Equilibrium' CD-single – and at the same time, giving a taste of what was to be expected on their second album, 1994's 'Reflections.' Convulse had started incorporating some rock 'n' roll elements into their murky and uncompromising death metal sound, much like some of their Finnish extreme metal comrades (Xysma and Disgrace primarily come to mind). The band's death 'n' roll sound on their sophomore album divided the Convulse fanbase, with some embracing the new direction while facing rejection from others. It's both difficult and pointless to speculate at this point whether the drastic musical change led to Convulse’s downfall, but perhaps it was one of the reasons behind the split up in 1994. Only the original band members can say for sure... More...
Wormwitch Offering Single For Download
The black metal newcomers from Wormwitch are offering their debut single for exclusive stream and download through NefariousRealm.com here.

Guitarist / vocalist Robin Harris comments: "Coffin Birth is the first song that Wormwitch has written under its name, and is the truest culmination of the band's vision to date. The standalone covers themes of death and rebirth and the constant struggle of man versus nature; wherein nature exercises its timeless power to cast the blight of mankind into the endless void." Remembering Jason Bradford - 1987 - 2016
Two days ago, I was sent a message on Facebook by a former member of this website, Kalis Wrath, breaking the news that another of our own, Jason Bradford, perhaps better known to regular visitors of this site as DeathInEye, had passed away the night before at the age of 28, having slipped into a coma a few days prior. As those who knew him will remember, Jason was a both an awesome mind and a spiritual warrior, who excelled as a poet. Every time he'd write poetry, or even discussed it, I felt like I was being educated. Like many other people, poetry was something I would either dismiss outright or shrug off as something anybody could do but I had no idea how much structure and thought went in to the process of crafting poems until Jason talked about them.
There was something else about Jason, something which he dealt with his entire life, which was his struggle against Muscular Dystrophy. This horrible affliction would be too much for most of us to bear, but Jason wasn't like most of us. I rarely knew him to talk about it and when he did, it was either in good humour or just as an aside. I remember what must have been ten years ago now, discussing with him education in Great Britain, because the British education system was better for his needs he said, and true to his word, he did arrive on this little island to study at the University of East Anglia. Another fond memory I have of Jason was a time when people were changing their Facebook pictures to their celebrity lookalikes for one reason or another and Jason, tongue firmly in cheek, said to the effect of, "Well, who else could I pick other than Stephen Hawking?" "This is, by far, the most personal song I’ve ever written," says vocalist Rob Watson. "I wrote this song about the darkest point in my life and when I was at my absolute lowest. In my opinion, this is one of the best songs we’ve ever written and the most important song on the album."

Rex Shachath Posts New Video
Northern Irish death metal band Rex Shachath has released a new lyric video for "Colossus Rise," a track taken from latest opus "Revocation Of The Blood Elect," which was released via French label Great Dane Records last November.
"'Colossus Rise' is the final track on 'Revocation Of The Blood Elect' and was inspired by Hindu deities Shiva and Brahma," vocalist Dave Connolly comments. He goes on to say: "I wanted to tell a story from a creators viewpoint looking at the world today and how everything created can also be destroyed. The underlying message is that humanity is plundering resources above and beyond what can be sustained... and ultimately, unless things change, we may be creating things to benefit life today but it comes at an even greater cost. Creation will be our own demise. Earth will remain as it has done for many, many years, but we are quickly creating mankind's end." More...

"Revenge" is a continuum to the 2011 debut "Crossing Over," which was well received around the globe. One common factor among critics was the "uniqueness" and "own sound" of Amoth's music.

To celebrate the album release Amoth has released a new music video for the track "Tattered Wings," which can be viewed in the player below.

Fear of Domination Announces New Album "Atlas"
Finnish shock industrial metal act Fear of Domination will give a totally new definition to "spring break" by unleashing its fourth studio album "Atlas" on March 11th. Vocalist and the lyricist Saku Solin describes Atlas as "the darkest and the heaviest album the band has ever done."
Solin says that "Atlas" is "about the moment, when all the light in the world has faded, and a human being is left to wander with his crushing burden.
“The question is, is the burden self-created, imagined or concrete. We’ve all had a bit of an emotion-filled year. I think we have efficiently packed primitive rage, desperation and misery here. It wasn’t a conscious decision. This is how we felt, and fuck, we did what had to be done.”
The string instruments are crunching lower than before and composer and keyboardist Lasse Raelahti has created a harmony of chaos and beauty with his synthesizer. Fans were given the first taste of blood, when the band released the music video single El Toro in the autumn. Check it out in the player below.
The lyrics of "Atlas" um are also more straight and brutal than before. Vocal producer Helena Haaparanta whipped everything out of Solin. He reveals that the rasp and growl vocals can change quickly to "freakishly annoyingly poppish" singing.
“We have always loved to create some contrast. Even though the lyrics are about the collapse of the mind and the world, suddenly there can be an opera-kind-of part or then it could be from E-Types disco song.”
The drum and the bass recordings were captured at D-studio, the guitars in the apartment of the lead guitarist and composer Johannes Niemi and the vocals in another studio in city of Kerava. Producers Alex Azzali and Nicholas Barker mixed and mastered the album in Italy. The cover art (shown below) is created by Timo Kokko.
Fear of Domination is ready for the "live-shows of the spring" and is more insane than ever. The band is famous for their theatrical and half-crazy shows filled with energy. 2016 started with sold out MeriRock in January and will continue with three day tour of MetalOrgy.
”We are looking forward to the gigs! We are able to use some new ideas and of course, to play the new songs. There are a couple of new ones, that I am sure will rock the hell out of the crowd”, Solin smiles. More...
xFiruath Unleashes Debut Novel "Empty"
Metal and gaming scribe Ty Arthur (xFiruath of Metalunderground.com/GameSkinny) today unleashes his debut novel “Empty” via Mirror Matter Press.
Following a string of short story anthology appearances, this long-awaited standalone sci-fi / horror tome is now available at Amazon here.
Down-on-his-luck, stuck performing punishment duty in the lower levels of the Penrose, Junior Engineer 3rd Class Hansen wants nothing more than to see the wreckage of a newly discovered ship dating back to man's earliest deep space explorations. The engineer is about to get his wish, and in the process come face-to-face with a long-dormant horror waiting patiently for the perfect vessel. What he'll uncover in the darkness will threaten to consume him, body and soul.
Arthur had this to say about his inaugural solo work:
“While the themes of 'Empty' draw heavily from personal experiences, it should come as no surprise that extreme metal was a major inspiration for me, and there wasn't a single moment of writing when I didn't have the headphones on, exploring the outer reaches of space through music. Special thanks in particular are due to Augury, Ne Obliviscaris, and Stagnant Waters for the epic and discordant tracks that acted as a soundtrack to those writing sessions.
“Although on the surface 'Empty' is about horrible things discovered out in the depths of space, I think metal fans in particular will be able to identify with the main character and underlying story dealing with the isolation of being different and separated from the herd.
