Misteyes Signs With Maple Metal
Hailing from Turin, Italy the light and dark metal band Misteyes has signed a worldwide deal with Canadian label Maple Metal Records to release debut album “Creeping Time” on April 8th.
The new album consists of 12 songs, with the finalized track listing and album cover art to be revealed shortly. Maple Metal Records comments:
"Misteyes is unique in the sense of having 2 front persons, male and female co-lead vocalists. But, as the day could not exist without the night, in each part of the music, contrast is the fundamental element.
"In 2012, the band started out having a melodic death/black metal sound, but the path changed radically in 2014, with the decision to add a female co-lead vocalist, and a keyboard player to the project. In 2015 this musical evolution came to a fundamental point, and now a 7-member band, Misteyes decided to sum this all up with a debut album. This is how 'Creeping Time' was born." More...

Rotten Sound Chides All The "Lazy Asses"
The Finnish grindcore veterans from Rotten Sound have unveiled new details for the release of their upcoming full-length, "Abuse to Suffer."
The album, the band's first new record in five years, will be released by Season of Mist in North America on March 25th. A track titled "Lazy Asses" can also be heard below.
Regarding the new track, Rotten Sound vocalist Keijo Niinimaa comments: "Our first track starts with an intro by our friend Heikki Järvi, who also did the samples for 'Exit' in 2004. We did not ask for anything specific, but somehow the disturbing sounds he created are setting the exactly right mood for this song, which is one of the most aggressive tracks on our new album. Even by our standards, 'Lazy Asses' kicks in pretty explosively: fast guitars, blasting drums and an opening grunt, which was strongly influenced by the beginning of the 'Brain Corrosion' album by Dead Infection. It is Sami's song, who openly admits that the idea for this grunting stems from our Polish friends, and I recall that he used their scream on the original demo."
Niinimaa continues: "Everything about 'Lazy Asses' revolves around grind and that is the reason why we placed it at the start although there are other ingredients on this album. The title is pointing a finger at the ultimate waste of money and time: free-riders in the politics. I am sure everyone can easily name a few of them." More...
Fault Lines Streaming New Single
Metalcore outfit Fault Lines just released a new single off the band’s forthcoming EP "Such Is Life." The single, entitled “Equal Parts,” features Silent Planet vocalist Garrett Russel and will be the fifth song off the January 26th release. Screamer Corey Pettit comments:
"This EP is a collection of songs that open up a dialogue about various feelings or things that we as humans have to deal with in our lives, that aren't exactly positive. We didn't want to sugar-coat the content so a lot of it comes off as cynical or melancholy, but it's honest which is what we were going for.
"The release deals with addiction, anxiety, fighting complacency and a few other subjects that are harsh realities of the world we live in. We hope that you find some solace in knowing that you are not alone in these issues and that you can get through it. That's the main idea of this EP... You will get past it and move on, and it's worth it to.” More...

The Boris songs are percussion-less reinventions of classic tracks from the band's storied catalog, while Merzbow's tracks are entirely new compositions. The two sets are intended to be played at the same time at varying volumes so that the listener can experience their own "gensho/phenomenon" every time. The artists also commented, "of course you can enjoy both albums as a separate work."

Boys Night Out Signs With Good Fight
Good Fight Music today welcomes Boys Night Out to the label's family. The alliance between Boys Night Out and the Good Fight team extends back to the early '00s.
Founded in 2000 in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, the post-hardcore band put out six releases between 2000 and 2007, including four on Ferret Music, the scene-reigning label owned and operated by the guys who would go on to form Good Fight.
The band burned bright through those years, touring the world with My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Saves the Day, and other titans of that era. On hiatus for almost a decade now, Boys Night Out returns in 2016 with a new EP, "Black Dogs," coming soon on Good Fight. View the trailer below.
Good Fight owner Carl Severson gives this statement: "Boys Night Out were some of the most creative, passionate, and honest musicians I ever worked with. They just wanted to write and play and have fun, and they stopped when it didn't feel right anymore. I always respected that. They wrote this new EP, 'Black Dogs,' because years later it felt right again, and I'm honored we're able to be a part of their music again." More...
Divinity Embarks On A "Manhunt"
Taking flashlights and a simple HD cam, Calgary, AB death metal band Divinity has created one of the cheapest but very much fulfilling music videos of the group's career.

We're also very proud of the fact that we self produced and directed this video all in our band room using flashlights and an HD Cam. Who says you need a 10K budget to make a music video? We surely don't think so. Crank this new video up and rock on!"
"The Immortalist Part 2. Momentum" was produced by Divinity and mixed and mastered by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy) at The Grid studio in Montreal along with artwork created by Justin Totemical. Messenger Signs With InsideOutMusic
London-based progressive, psychedelic rockers Messenger have signed to InsideOutMusic for the release of the forthcoming second album "Threnodies," which is due out on April 22nd, 2016. Details of the album are expected shortly.
The band had this to say about the signing and new album: "We're very excited about our new journey with InsideOut and we hope that this new venture will take the band to the next level. Our new album 'Threnodies' was written and recorded over three months at Orgone Studios in London with our drummer Jaime Gomez Arellano handling the production and engineering duties. We like to think of it as an evolution of our first release 'Illusory Blues'. We went to places we haven't been before, while still keeping our identity. It's a modern day mix of progressive rock, hard rock and psychedelia."
The 5-piece band released the debut album "Illusory Blues" in 2014 to much acclaim, with the band winning the "Limelight" award at the Progressive Music Awards that year, and being nominated for Best New Band at the Classic Rock Awards in 2015. Q Magazine called their debut "an intriguing and impressive first album", while The Guardian said "they straddle the supermassive black hole between prog and folk." More...

Raubtier To Release Fifth Studio LP "Barsarkagang"
Swedish industrial metal war machine Raubtier (German for "predator") will issue the fifth full length album "Barsarkagang" on February 19th via Despotz Records.
The trio's (Hulkoff - Vocals, guitar, Kjellgren - Bass and drummer, Buffeln) first physical North American release, "Barsarkagang" was produced by the band and recorded at Terrorfabriken in Hasparanda and Black Lounge Studios in Parlby. Jonas Kjellgren mixed the album at Black Lounge. It is the third Raubtier release to feature Scar Symmetry guitarist Jonas Kjellgren on bass. "Joining Raubtier was not like joining any other band I've been in, it's more like a brotherhood of men made out of steel!," says Kjellgren.
From the aggressive, industrialized coldness of current single "Bothniablod" ("Bothnia Blood," which refers to the Swedish-Finnish borderlands and the Gulf of Bothnia) to the military march of "Den Sista Kulan" ("The Last Bullet") and the epic traditional metal attack of "Tropaion" straight through to the proto thrash metal maelstrom that is "Praetoria," Barsarkagang hits it's mark, no matter the language.
Barsarkagang follows "Bestia Borealis," a "best of" compilation of sorts released in late 2014, helping the band find an audience outside of Sweden for the first time. The album was met with overwhelmingly favorable reviews and resulted in an upshot of thousands of new sales and more than a million Spotify streams. All of this despite the band's insistence upon Hulkoff's insistence upon singing in his native Swedish. Hulkoff explains, "I find it both challenging and rewarding to write and sing in my native tongue. The primeval force, the "urkraft" of the old north, is still dwelling inside the Scandinavian languages. I am constantly seeking that power."
More information on the album is expected soon. More...
Beastmaker Reveals Debut Full Length LP Details
"In a world of pop music we are freaks. We do everything completely opposite of what the current formula of doing things is. We recorded and produced everything ourselves with no outside influences. We play a style of music that is underground. We are all freaks of nature." So proclaims Beastmaker singer, guitarist and mastermind Trevor William Church. Hence the title of Beastmaker's debut full length release: "Lusus Naturae," or "Freak Of Nature." "When you think differently and do things unconventionally, you are an outsider," he ventures. "We wanted to bring a natural essence back into music the best way we could in a digital world." "Lusus Naturae" is set for a March 26th release via Rise Above Records.
Beastmaker hails from the unlikely locale of Fresno, California. Sweating profusely in a parched no man's land about three and a half hours northeast of Los Angeles, the city isn't exactly a cultural mecca-and yet it's the birthplace of Hollywood outsiders and weirdos like Sid Haig, Slim Pickens and director Sam Peckinpah. Still, it suffers from an unsurprising dearth of musicians interested in heavy rock. Though Church had the concept for Beastmaker as far back as 2006, it wasn't until he and drummer Andres Alejandro Saldate, a.k.a. Juan Bonham, hooked up with bassist John Tucker in 2014 that the band was fully realized. "I was really inspired by old bands and metal," Church explains. "From the Zombies to Slayer, from Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons to Black Sabbath. I was really into NWOBHM and what bands like Witchcraft are doing now. After many failed attempts and at least five bands in between, we found John and finally had a solid lineup." More...
