Despised Icon Sign With Century Media
Canada's Despised Icon have officially signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. The group has previously released an album with Galy Records, and most recently a split with Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus on Relapse Records. Here's a statement from vocalist Alexandre Erian regarding the move:
"We are all very excited to join Century Media and can't wait to release The Healing Process. It's a privilege for a young band like us to be part of such a dedicated and hard-working label. The name Century Media is synonymous with metal and we couldn?t have found a better family. This means so much to us. We plan on touring as much as possible in 2005. Expect breakdowns as brutal as a kick-in-the-face."
The band's Century Media debut, "The Healing Process," was produced by guitarist Yannick St-Amand (Ion Dissonance, Neuraxis), mixed by J-F Dagenais (Misery Index), and mastered by Alan Douches. Look for the album to hit stores on April 5th.

Behemoth Post Tour Update, New Live Pics Online
Polish Black metal fiends BEHEMOTH recently completed their South American tour ( live pics from Mexico available here). They are currently preparing to bring chaos and destruction to U.K. and North America. Frontman Nergal comments:
"To be honest, we didn't feel that much energy for a long time. Maybe it's the new line up, maybe a new, killer album, maybe new contracts...maybe part of each. But the shows we deliver these days are one of the best we played ever and that is the fact! We feel like we got something to say with Demigod and we will push hard and will not give up! I don't wanna say that this album is our 'to be or not to be', but yes, it's opening new doors and I'd like to believe it's some kind of pay off to all the hard work and dedication. One thing is obvious, there is so much confidence in the band nowadays and we are on the right track to prove it!"
"We are not gonna stop. On the 13th we are kicking off in Brighton and do the first headlining tour in Great Britain. I know it's very difficult market but Demigod has had great press there and I really wanna give it a try. Right after the show we play in London we get ourselves on the plane to Atlanta to join Suffocation and do one month long tour in US. I can't wait doin' it. We will be there right on time, as Demigod has its street date on January 25th. It's gonna be amazing...new songs, new line up...it all works sooo perfect these days...I wanna show it to the American audience."
Kult Ov Azazel Part Ways With Guitarist
Ft. Lauderdale- based Black metallers Kult Ov Azazel have posted the following update:
"In one month we will enter Mana Studio in Tampa, FL to start recording the next album, The World, The Flesh & The Devil. Due to personal obligations Nocturath (guitar) has decided to leave the band but will continue to work closely with us in the future doing covers/layouts as he has done in the past. His replacement is VJS from the hordes Demoncy & Incursus, whose first official appearances will be on the split releases with Vrolok and Horn of Valere. As for the splits, the recording for both is complete. The only hold up right now is the art/layout for the 10" split with Horn of Valere and the enhanced video content for the split CD with Vrolok. The video portion will be completed within the next few days at which time everything will be turned over to Arctic Music for immediate release. No available information at the time about the release of the 10" through Abort The World Records."
