Destruction Drops "Scumbag Human Race" Video

While fans eagerly await the release of Destruction's 16th studio album, "Birth Of Malice," out March 7, 2025 via Napalm Records, the German thrash metal icons have released their third single, "Scumbag Human Race." On this track, Schmier rages against the corruption and deceit of humanity, with the unforgettable chorus acting as a call for reckoning as the band spits fury at those who exploit and manipulate. A blistering thrash anthem, this track will resonate with anyone fed up with the state of the world.

Destruction on "Scumbag Human Race":
"Single number three, ‘Scumbag Human Race’, is a merciless steamhammer of a track! Its relentless groove and energy are pushing you straight forward into the moshpit! This will be an intense live track and that riff can melt faces!
The lyrics are metaphorically speaking: how would this planet call us if it could talk? And what would it tell us? Right …wake the fuck up … SCUMBAG HUMAN RACE!" More...

Destruction Announces New Album "Birth Of Malice"

Following their 40-year-anniversary tour through South America and Europe, German Thrash-Teutons Destruction strike again with their 16th studio album, "Birth Of Malice," out March 7, 2024 via Napalm Records!

Band founder Schmier once again combines his dual vocal/bass attack with crashing riffs from dual battle axe masters Martin Furia and Damir Eskic, while Randy Black blasts his drums to new heights. As witnessed on their previous thrash-fest "Diabolical" (2022), Destruction returns with their uniquely raw and brutal sound, delivering merciless songs with a touch more variety and groove this time. All twelve songs straight from the butchers hit with a direct, clean sound - resulting in addictive metal anthems for the next generation of thrashers!

Today, the crushing new single “Destruction” has been released and as it’s named after the band, it contains everything Destruction is revered for. This thrash anthem reflects on the band’s legacy, fueled by razor-sharp riffs and Schmier’s relentless vocals. With lyrics celebrating their outcast origins and unbreakable metal spirit, "Destruction" is a tribute to over 40 years of thrash dominance. Get ready for pure sonic mayhem as the Teutonic titans strike again!

Destruction on their eponymous battle hymn:
"The crushing song ‘Destruction’ is the perfect opener for this album: it builds a bridge between our old school sound and riffing, including song title phrases from classic Destruction tracks and more shredding & melodic twin lead guitars, that will pinch your brain with its razor sharp leads!

"The message ‘we are Destruction’ unites us with our fans worldwide and manifests the bond we have together! I see this track in the tradition of a cult song like ‘Curse the Gods’ in the way it is composed - a thrash metal rollercoaster ride galore!" More...

70000 Tons Of Metal 2023: Day Four

They say all good things must come to an end and so it was that the final day of this year's 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise, the first for three years, had a slight air of sadness about it. But metal fans aren't the type to go out with a whimper and thus our fourth day at sea is traditionally the time to go all out with costumes and to lose a few inhibitions.

A bright and early start seemed to be on most sailor's agenda, as everyone wanted to make the most of this last day floating through the Caribbean, and there was certainly no better wake up call than Nightmare. The French power metal squadron have been going for some time now but this was the first chance many fans and onlookers had to hear new vocalist Barbara Mogore, who is 100% natural in her new job, giving the impression that she's always been leading the line. Perhaps as was to be expected, the band gave a good deal of attention to their latest album, "Aeternam," performing the title track as well as the songs, "Crystal Lake," "Divine Nemesis" and "Downfall Of A Tyrant." "Dead Sun" was also represented with four songs, including the title track which opened the set and "Starry Skies Gone Black" which closed it. Fans don't need to worry about the future of Nightmare with a new vocalist, as they're clearly in very capable hands. More...
