Sirenia Signs With Napalm Records

Norwegian symphonic/gothic metal band Sirenia have signed a record deal with Napalm Records. The Austrian label is more than excited to welcome back the band on their artist roster:

Nadir Amrioui, A&R of Napalm Records, stated: "Morten [Veland] is an amazing songwriter and with his band Sirenia they still belong to the top of Gothic Metal. We barely can't wait to check out the first new songs and to release the new album in early 2015."

Guitarist/Vocalist Morten Veland commented: "We are very excited about having signed a new deal with Napalm Records. This is where SIRENIA began our career 13 years ago, so it feels like a homecoming in many ways. Looking forward to keep on bringing our music out to all the metalheads around the world together with Napalm. There is much more to come. Cheers!"

Stand Your Ground Cancels Upcoming Shows

Stand Your Ground was slated to hit the road on March 20th, but now the band has issued the following announcement about canceling upcoming live shows:

"Hey guys,

"We regret to announce that we will not be able to do the upcoming tour with Beware the Neverending and Sirena.

"We are incredibly sorry to everyone that we won't make it. We tried everything we could to be able to make it happen but some things concerning jobs and personal issues that just made it impossible.

"We will be touring in the spring/summer so we promise to make it up to you guys!"

Sirenia Announces Australian Shows

Sirenia will be playing live shows in Australia for the very first time this year.

One of the pioneer symphonic Gothic metal artists, Sirenia will perform tracks off new release "Perils Of The Deep Blue" (reviewed here), as well as a comprehensive selection of tracks across the band's discography. Nuclear Blast comments:

"Maestro band member Morten Veland has guided and orchestrated Sirenia to be one the artists at the very top of this genre and along with the breathtaking appearance and vocals from front lady Ailyn, Sirenia is a must for any fan of the likes of Nightwish, Within Temptation, Tristania, Epica, and After Forever to name only a few.

Sirenia Posts New Music Video

Norwegian symphonic metal band Sirenia posted a new music video for the track "Seven Widows Weep." The song appears on the band's upcoming LP "Perils of the Deep Blue," which drops June 28th via Nuclear Blast Records.

Band leader Maren Veland commented on the video: "In April we went to Serbia to shoot a videoclip for the song 'Seven Widows Weep'. We've been working with the Icode team again, this is the guys that also did the videoclips for our first two videos; 'My Mind's Eye' and 'The Other Side'. We had a great time in Serbia, and the recording sessions turned out great. Now the post production is finished as well and we are very excited to share the video with our fans. We think that the guys at Icode did a great job and made a video that serves the song perfectly. The band is very pleased with the video, and we hope that you will enjoy it as well. Cheers!"

Sirenia Enters The Recording Studio

Norwegian Gothic metallers Sirenia have recently entered the studio to record the follow-up to 2011’s "The Enigma Of Life." The band also issued the following statement:

“Festival season is over and it feels great to be back in the studio again. The progress on the new album is going very well - we feel confident that the 6th Sirenia album will have some nice surprises up its sleeve, as we‘ve been determined to make this record somewhat different from the previous two albums.

"We have finished some recording sessions in Sound Suite Studio in France, where we tracked the choirs plus some acoustic footage.

"Right now we are continuing our work in Morten Veland’s Audio Avenue Studio. We’ll be back shortly with further information on the recording progress. Stay tuned!”

Sirenia Announces New Guitarist

Norwegian symphonic gothic metal band Sirenia announced the band's new lead guitarist, Jan Erik Soltvedt. Morten Veland (guitars/harsh vocals) made the following announcement

“We are very happy to announce SIRENIA’s new guitar player. Jan Erik Soltvedt has joined the band and will take over the place as lead guitarist. Some of you already know Jan Erik from the shows at Wacken:Open:Air and GSM Fest. We bid him welcome aboard and look forward to more touring together. First up is the South American tour, so we ask all our South American fans to give Jan Erik a warm welcome.”

Soltvedt will take over for the departed Michael S. Krumins.

Sirenia Announces South American Tour

Norwegian gothic metal act Sirenia has announced another tour through South America for October/November 2011. Mastermind Morten Veland states:

"Sirenia is very pleased to be touring in South America again. This time we will visit the following countries: Mexico, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. It will be our first time in Chile and Peru, always great and exciting to visit new countries on our tours. We’ve visited the other countries in the past, and we have great memories from these shows. Napalm Records Seeking Fan Feedback On Compilation

Napalm Records has issued the following announcement about seeking fan feedback on which songs to use for an upcoming 15 track sampler release:

"Due to the great feedback we received regarding the free & exclusive Facebook MP3 Compilation, we have decided to release a 'Volume 2' soon! We would like you to help us choose the track list for the 15-track sampler that will feature 'Napalm Records Classics.'

Sirenia Comments On Festival Appearances

Norwegian / Spanish gothic metal act Sirenia will be performing at this year's editions of the Wacken (GER) and Masters Of Rock (CZ) festivals, with more festival appearances to be announced soon.

Quoted Mastermind Morten Veland: "We are very excited these days as the release date for 'The Enigma Of Life' is coming up. We are very eager to share the new album with all our fans.
