Desire To Do Another
Desire prepares to return in 2002 with "Locus Horrendus - The Night Cries Of A Sullen Soul..." This self-financed work was recorded at L'Enfant Terrible Studio, Queijas, mixed at Edit Studios, Reboleira and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios, Helsinki, Finland. The release date is expected to be the end of May.
Dreams of Damnation Enter Studio in June
Dreams Of Damnation will enter the studio on June 8th to start the recordings of their debut full length. The band features a new singer, Loana dp Valencia, plus Jim Durkin from Dark Angel. The title of the album will be Epic Tales Of Vengeance and will be released through Necropolis Records.

Marduk Forced to Cancel US Tour
Swedish black metallers Marduk have once again cancelled plans to tour the US as a result of their inability to secure the proper paperwork from the American Embassy to enable them to enter the country legally. Here is the band's official statement on the matter:
"Marduk still has not been granted their clearance from the INS [Immigration Naturalization Service], and will therefore not be able to participate on the upcoming Danzig US tour. As we have told you before, Marduk has had a lot of problems with the American embassy and has not been able to get any information about how the visa matter is being proceeded and since time is running out Marduk see no other choice than to not do the tour. According to the band all they have been informed about is that their case is under investigation and that they will be informed when a decision has been made by the INS whether Marduk will get their visa clearance or not"More...
A Big Improvement for Destruction
The current line-up of Destruction—bassist/vocalist Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer, guitarist Mike Sifringer and drummer Marc Reign—are hard at work on the material for their next studio album, which is tentatively due to be recorded at the end of the year for an April 2003 release through Nuclear Blast Records. According to a statement posted at the band's official web site, "[the] first rough cuts are really impressive… New drummer Marc brings more intenseness and technical ability... Expect a big improvement in the 'positive' way!" In other news, a DVD/home video is currently being put together and will include footage filmed during the group's upcoming European summer appearances.

Tides of Tomorrow for Cave In
Boston rockers Cave In have set Tides of Tomorrow as the title of their new EP for Hydrahead Records.
Recorded with Andrew Schneider, Tides of Tomorrow features five new songs and a cover of Giants Chair's "The Callus." The EP will be the first Hydrahead release to go through BMG Distribution, which came about when Cave In signed to BMG affiliate RCA Records for the follow-up to 1999's excellent Jupiter effort.
Hammerheart switches to Manic
Hammerheart Records today announces its restructure plans for the United States. Effective immediately, Hammerheart and Philadelphia-based Manic Music will come together with Manic's staff handling all day-to-day and marketing activities for the Valkenburg-based label. More...
