Layne Staley Vigil in London

Alice In Chains fans will hold a vigil in tribute to late singer Layne Staley on Tuesday, April 30 in London. It will start at 6pm at Marble Arch and move to Trafalgar Square.

MTV Road Rules Compilation

Not that anyone cares about MTV, but the latest compilation called ‘MTV’s Road Rules’, is due for release on Roadrunner in July features a number of metal and nu-metal bands (I guess Roadrunner as a label would give that away). The bands featured include Deftones, Nickelback, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, The Hives, Hoobastank, Cave-In, Thrice, Thursday and the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Roach In The Covers

Papa Roach have done versions of Faith No More’s ‘Naked In Front Of The Computer’ and the Pixies’ ‘Gouge Away’ . Whether these will turn up on new album ‘Lovehatetragedy’ (due out in mid-June), or will be used as bonus tracks remains to be seen.

Monster Magnet Celebrate Freedom

After a lengthy hiatus, Monster Magnet get back into action in May with a month long American tour. It’s being dubbed ‘We’re Free’, to celebrate the fact that the band are now out of their label contract with A&M.
