Denis D'Amour working with The Gathering
According to The Gathering's official site, Denis D'Amour (Piggy), from Voivod, will collaborate on a track for the Gathering's upcoming October full length release.
Impending Doom signs to Voice of Life
Germany's Impending Doom has signed with Voice of Life for their upcoming album, which will be out in spring 2003. The band is one of the most active in the German underground, having released seven albums in about five years. They have fans worldwide.
Marduk Still Waiting
According to the band's official web site, Marduk are “still waiting for INS approval for the [group's US tour with] Danzig. So far the response from the US embassy has been positive and we hope to bring the verdict from INS very soon.” The Danzig/Marduk North American trek is scheduled to kick off on May 29th and run through the end of July.
Nile, Hate Eternal, Arch Enemy team up
Arch Enemy, Nile, and Hate Eternal will be teaming up for a North American tour that is scheduled to kick off in July. Exact dates and venues will be announced soon
COB do the Ramones, close to new deal
Finland's Children of Bodom are set to record a cover of The Ramones classic "Somebody Put Something In My Drink" for inclusion on the group's upcoming single, entitled You Better Off Dead, due through Spinefarm Records on July 1st. In other news, Children of Bodom are strongly rumored to be on the verge of re-signing with Spinefarm Records to a long-term deal following the expiration of the band's most recent agreement with the company. Although COB had reportedly entertained offers from several other labels, they are said to have accepted the most recent offer from Spinefarm, the controlling interest in which was recently purchased by Universal Music.
Learn to Pound like Hate Eternal
Hate Eternal drummer Derek Roddy is opening up his schedule to start giving drum lessons. According to Roddy, “I'm going to start giving drum lessons again. I just wanted to let any drummers living in the south Florida area (Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, West Palm Beach) know that they can contact me at roddy@hateeternal.com for more info.”
