Necrodeath Parts Ways With Guitarist
Italian black metallers Necrodeath have issued the following update about parting ways with their guitarist:
"After more than one year of live concerts round Europe, Maxx decided to leave the band for personal reasons. We wish him the very best and will keep on as a 4 member band, as we have been for over 20 years.
"In the meantime, the recordings of our next album are taking place!!!!"
Sentinel Beast Replaces Bassist
San Francisco thrashers Sentinel Beast have issued the following announcement about replacing their bassist:
"We would like to announce the departure of bassist, Nic Atomica X. Nic decided to leave the band to pursue his career as a Recording Engineer. We all wish him well. Our new bassist is Steve Oliver, also from the Bay Area. We're all very excited to be working with him and we welcome him aboard. Feel free to drop him a line on MySpace."
Argument Soul To Tour Australia
Japanese thrash metal band, Argument Soul, will be embarking on an Australian tour during May. Argument Soul will be in Australia promoting their latest CD LP, "Conflict of Crisis."
Argument Soul will be playing with Australian metal/rock heavy weights, Dreadnaught on the Melbourne show. Dreadnaught are on the verge of a releasing their latest self-titled CD LP, which will be available in stores during May.
The Sydney show will be with progressive metallers Vanishing Point, Pain Division, Dred, Inslain and Sedition.

May 1st – Northcote Social Club, High Street Northcote, Melbourne with Dreadnaught, The Ocularis Infernum

Arch Enemy to Headline Uni Rock Festival
Arch Enemy has announced their first ever show in Turkey. The band will headline the UNI ROCK FESTIVAL, Istanbul, Turkey on July 17th, 2009. Tickets can be bought at www.biletix.com.
Other confirmed acts are: Amon Amarth, Paradise Lost, LA Guns and Rotting Christ.

Pantera To Release Box Set This Year
In a recent radio interview, Down/former Pantera bass player Rex Brown confirmed the rumours that there will be a Pantera box set released later this year. Although no details have been revealed about the package, Brown claims that it will contain more than just the old albums. Stay tuned for updates.

Lebanese doom/death metal band ARCEASE has released a new track titled "The Funeral Of 1984" from their upcoming album. The song can be downloaded from the band's web site, or can be streamed on their MySpace player.
Slechtvalk Confirmed For Fear Dark Festival 2009
Dutch viking-black metal band Slechtvalk has been confirmed once again for Germany's Fear Dark Festival. The band has not played many live gigs, so this is a great chance to catch them live.
Previously confirmed is Swedish death-metal band Miseration, featuring vocalist Christians Älvestam (ex-Scar Symmetry) and guitarist Jani Stefanovic (Mehida, ex-Sins Of Omission). They will start their upcoming European tour at our Fear Dark Festival. Their tour will end at Legacy Fest in Germany.
The Fear Dark Festival takes place on May 15, 2009 in De Kelder, Amersfoort.
Earth Crisis Announces Tour With Walls Of Jericho
Earth Crisis has issued the following statement about an upcoming tour alongside Walls of Jericho:

Burst has issued the following update about streaming tomorrow night's live Hamurg show online:

I caught up with Christofer Malmström, guitarist for Swedish melodic thrash metal band DARKANE, for an interview in the midst of their intense North American tour. Finnish hard rock and metal band Plutonium Orange has issued the following brief update about signing a record deal:

Mortum Postpones Release of Debut Album
NJ black metal band, Mortum, has announced that they will be delaying the release of their debut album, "Awakening of the Primordial Spirit." The band issues the following statement regarding the reasons behind the delay:
"We have decided that we are going to postpone our debut full length 'Awakening of the Primordial Spirit' for several reasons."

Clutch Added To Rock On the Range 2009 Fest
The Rock On The Range 2009 Festival organizers have announced the additions of CLUTCH and DUFF McKAGEN's LOADED. The last time that CLUTCH played in Columbus, it was a sold out show that many people could not get tickets to. Duff McKagen, founding member and bassist of Guns N Roses, will play the Rock On The Range Fest for the second time. Duff played as a member of Velvet Revolver at the first Rock On The Range Fest in 2007.

Acariya Parts with Bassist Nick Vuona
ACARIYA has parted ways with founding member/bassist Nick Vuona this past week. The separation, though somewhat unexpected, comes with no hard feelings. With regards to Nicks departure the band has released the following statement:
"It is a sad day in the ACARIYA camp as we part ways with our bass player of four years, Nick Vuona. A founding member, Nick has been our brother through this adventure and we are more than sad to see him go. We wish him well and will never forget all the memories and stages we have shared.
"As always, ACARIYA marches on and we are now on the hunt for a new bass player. Please send us a message if you are interested. Serious inquiries only. Must have own equipment, transportation, and a level of commitment that matches our own. We have an album out on Hold True Records that we need to support and a new record to finish. Be ready to hit the ground running."

Metallica To Play Secret SXSW Guitar Hero Show
Metallica will be playing a surprise show at Stubb's, Austin's legendary venue, on Friday, March 20 at 10 p.m. as part of the "Guitar Hero: Metallica" showcase at Texas capital's annual South By Southwest music festival.
Stadium headliner Metallica is going to play Stubb's, a venue that holds only 2,100 for the Guitar Hero: Metallica release party. Metallica's site says "There will be live music, a DJ, and of course the boys will be hangin' out . . . and who knows what else might happen!".
It will be a standard SXSW policy, with badges and wristbands getting priority. There will also be a line for those willing to pay cover, but admission will be based on space availability. But as Stubb's is an outdoor venue fans will be able to hear the band all the way to Hyde Park.
Starting Wednesday, March 18, there will be a three day "Metallica Madness" Guitar Hero tournament at the Best Buy store in South Austin, TX during the South by Southwest Music Festival.High scorers on each of the three days (one drummer and one guitarist plus a couple of runners up to make the "elite eight") will then move on to compete Friday night at a special Guitar Hero: Metallica release party at Stubb's, also in Austin, TX.
Clenched Fist Signs To Double Or Nothing Records
DOUBLE OR NOTHING RECORDS has announced the signing of Memphis hardcore icons CLENCHED FIST.
Forming in 1996, CLENCHED FIST will release its second full length offering, fittingly titled "Just Like Roaches," this Spring as an exclusive digital download available through all major digital retail outlets.
"Just Like Roaches" is the highly anticipated follow-up to their classic debut full length CD "Welcome To Memphis" released in 2002 that single-handedly put the city of Memphis on the national hardcore map.
Seven years later, the original Tennessee Titans return with a sophomore release recorded at the world famous Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN - the same studio where Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Lynrd Skynrd, and Stevie Ray Vaughan cut some of the most legendary records of all time.
"Just Like Roaches" contains 10 tracks and is accented by guest vocals from Scott Vogel of Terror and Bryan Harris of Death Before Dishonor.
