God Dethroned's Universal Slave Driver

Dutch death metallers God Dethroned have set The Universal Slavedriver as the working title of their forthcoming full-length platter for Metal Blade Records.

The Universal Slavedriver will be the first album with a permanent drummer since 1999's Bloody Blasphemy and according to frontman Henri Sattler, new drummer Arien van Weesenbeek is working out "very well" and the new material is coming along quickly.

Beyond the Embrace Ready New CD

New Bedford-based melodic death metal sextet Beyond The Embrace have finished work on their forthcoming Metal Blade Records debut, Against the Elements.

Against the Elements was recorded at ESS Productions with Aaron Clay and Beyond The Embrace. The final mix of the album is currently being handled at Trident Studios by Juan Urteaga in San Francisco and according to the band, the music is a "sonic barrage of finesse and power."

Beyond The Embrace's Against the Elements is slated for a May 21 release on Metal Blade Records.

Beholder Wish For Destruction

The Italian power metal band Beholder, with new official keyboard player Mark Vikar, is now working on the arrangements for their second album called "Wish For Destruction". Beholder will enter the New Sin Studios in April to record the new album, which will be released by Dragonheart Records in Autumn 2002. The 10 tracks are planned to be more aggressive with many technical parts. The band has abandoned the epic atmosphere of their debut album "The Legend Begins" to create a heavier sound.

Soulfly III: Enter Faith

Soulfly drummer Roy Mayorga has exclusively revealed to TotalRock the title of the band’s third album, and what fans can expect. The album’s to be called ‘Soulfly III: Enter Faith’ and is issued in May. Stylistically, watch out for a heavier, thrashier approach. And one track features Soulfly mainman Max Cavalera’s son Richie.

Stabbing Westward Split Up

After 12 years, the members of the Chicago industrial rock quartet, Stabbing Westward, are moving in different directions, the group announced on Saturday. The decision to disband was made a week prior to the announcement, but the band wanted the termination to marinate for a bit before going public, according to the group's manager.

The future plans aren't yet known, though it's likely that they'll stay in the musical realm, their manager said.
