Battlelore Explains Tour Cancellation
Tomi Mykkänen, Battlelore's male vocalist, issued the following explaining the reasons for canceling the December tour with Korpiklaani:
"As many of the venues already listed us as the support for the small upcoming tour with Korpiklaani, it's appropriate to tell you guys here that our part on that tour got canceled. We are VERY sorry about that. It would have been excellent and fucken brilliant to finally tour at least a bit in UK. Not to dismiss Germany or Netherlands in any way, it would have been great to meet all the old friends and possible new ones there too! Also having "a few" beers with KL-guys during the tour would probably have been very pleasant, though hurtful afterwards, experience. Well, what can you do? Maybe next time…
"And to add, the band is not responsible for the cancellation."
Late in November Korpiklaani announced on their myspace page that Battlelore can not accompany them on their December tour.
Here are the dates for Korpiklaani's European tour during December as stated on their myspace page:
14.12.2007 Alte Brauerei, Annaberg Germany

Founded in Donzdorf, Germany in 1987, ranked #11 in the "Top 20 Rock/Metal Labels" and #41 in the "Top 50 Labels" charts by Hit Quarters in 2007, Nuclear Blast Records has extended its production and distribution deal with The Century Family, Inc. for the United States.
From his office in Germany, Nuclear Blast label owner and President Markus Staiger had this to say about the continued two-year contract renewal:
"We are very thrilled to continue our work with the Century Family. It is great that 2 metal companies can work together so close without any problems and fun to have such professional and nice people in the U.S. working for us! Be sure to expect a great year in 2008 for NUCLEAR BLAST and Century Media. NUCLEAR BLAST will release new titles from MESHUGGAH, DIMMU BORGIR, KATAKLYSM, KORPIKLAANI, THREAT SIGNAL, ALL SHALL PERSIH, DEATH ANGEL, HYPOCRISY, IMMORTAL, and EXODUS, as well as a stunning new album from TESTAMENT and AVANTASIA's third album The Scarecrow (featuring members of KISS, SCORPIONS, MAGNUM, Jorn Lande, and more), along with some IN FLAMES re-releases, too. Also, keep an eye out for our new U.S. signings - they are all young, fresh and brutal new acts with tremendous new albums. Among these is SUCCESS WILL WRITE APOCALYPSE ACROSS THE SKY who play brutal Florida Grind-Death Metal! Big thanks goes to the NB U.S.A. Team, Century Media, and our distributor Caroline/EMI. Special THANKS to our great metal fans!"
Since 2000, Nuclear Blast has maintained U.S. staff and operations in Los Angeles via a successful and long-running production and distribution deal with The Century Family, Inc., parent of Century Media Records. Century Media currently maintains a distribution deal with Caroline/EMI which it manages for Nuclear Blast under the arrangement.
States Century Media CEO Oliver Withoeft:
"Nuclear Blast and Century Media are looking forward to an even closer cooperation in 2008. The new year will prove to be a decisive year for the music industry, and we will continue to be at the forefront of setting trends in Metal. Our customers will be pleased to learn that we will expand our offers beyond the traditional ways of selling music."
2007 has been a year of distinction for Nuclear Blast in both Europe and North America. In addition to hosting a celebratory 20 year anniversary festival in Stuttgart this past October in the presence of over 6,000 metal fans, various 2007 releases made extremely noteworthy entries onto the Billboard charts.

Quiet Riot Singer Died Of Cocaine Overdose
The Associated Press reports that the death last month of Kevin Dubrow, lead singer for the 1980s heavy metal band QUIET RIOT, has been ruled an accidental cocaine overdose.

Dubrow was found dead Nov. 25 at his Las Vegas home. He was 52.
QUIET RIOT was perhaps best known for its 1983 cover of "Cum on Feel the Noize". The song, featuring Dubrow's powerful, gravelly voice, appeared on the band's album "Metal Health" — which was the first by a metal band to reach No. 1 on the Billboard chart.
DuBrow recorded a solo album in 2004, "In for the Kill", and the band's last studio CD, "Rehab", came out in October 2006.

Onslaught Forced To Cancel German Shows
The following message has been posted on Onslaught's official Myspace page:
"Onslaught have regrettably been forced to cancel the final 5 shows of their current German tour with 'Ektomorf' due to continuing breaches of contract by ROCKFALLS PROMOTIONS (Stefan Freund).
"Sy Keeler says 'the organisation behind the tour has again been nothing short of shambolic from day 1. The problems started with transportation and equipment and ended with non payment of our fees and expenses. The Night liner company has not been paid and the tour is being kept afloat at this time by the Tour Managers' own personal finances. We had persevered with the difficulties for the first 9 shows but felt it was impossible for us to continue in the circumstances and have been forced to make this very difficult and sad decision...
"We deeply apologise to our fans in Germany for any disappointment and inconvenience they may encounter because of Mr Freund's disgraceful behaviour. We will return to your great country in February for 3 shows with our good friends 'Sabbat' which will be organised and promoted in a totally professional manner..
This matter is now in the hands of our legal team...
"See you all soon…..'
Danke Schoen
ONSLAUGHT"
"PS - We would like to say a massive 'Thank You' to Frank & Steffen from the great band 'Days of Grace' who took time out to drive us back to the U.K... Your friendship and your thoughtfulness was awesome guys .. Danke. We owe you..!!! "

Denmark’s ILLDISPOSED have posted the following update:
“Summer and I just returned from Studio Fredman in Sweden where we mixed the album with Fredrik Nordström and his assistant Henke Rövkuk. Fredrik is truly a magician behind the mixing desk and the result is amazing. I remember – through a fog of beer, vodka and snus – that we agreed that this is the best ILLDISPOSED album for ten years. Big words maybe – but that’s for you to judge on March 28th when our bastard son number ten hits the streets.
In the meanwhile we’ll party in Copenhagen on Saturday – and remember you can hear the show live at Radio4Sound. I’ll be back soon with an album title, song titles and cover artwork!”

Original Onesidezero Guitarist Rejoins The Band
Onesidezero have announced the addition of original guitarist, Brett Kane, to the group for select tour cycles. Kane has re-joined the band, along with guitarist Colin Crow, who will be filling in on the West Coast tour dates currently underway.
The band recently parted ways with guitarist Levon Sultanian "due to creative and personal differences."
"It's great to be jamming with Brett again. He's a huge part of our sound and is a great performer," says drummer Rob Basile. "I've missed his random noises and trippy affects. He also never fails to give the worst "stink eye" if someone trainwrecks at a show! As for Colin, he's an old friend and former member of the band Allergic. It's been a pleasure having him jam with us, and it feels like old Onesidezero again! Come check it out!"
"It's been great having Brett back in the band. It's like he never left. One forgets how important his parts are and then realizes how much more depth the song has when he is playing," added bassist Cristian Hernandez. "Colin is a great guitarist. Having Colin in the band is like a breath of fresh air, he's been able to cover all the parts and has even added his own style to them, so it's almost like hearing the song for the first time again."
Onesidezero recently released their Ulrich Wild (Static-X, Stabbing Westward, Taproot) produced sophomore album was released through Corporate Punishment Records. The group’s new album can be streamed in its entirety online here.

RATM Plans Australian, Japanese Tour Dates
LiveDaily.com reports: Rage Against the Machine's reunion--which the group originally couched as a short-term affair that would only yield a handful of performances--continues chugging along, with the politically active rockers set to mount a full-blown tour of Australia, followed by a few dates in Japan.
The group will launch the Aussie run in mid-January and is scheduled to play eight shows in that country through the beginning of February. A trio of Japanese dates follow in early Febuary.
The announcement of the Australian and Japanese tours coincides with RATM's unveiling of a newly revamped official website, the arrival of which is sure to only fuel speculation that the group's reformation is more permanent than originally thought.
No word yet on when, if at all, the group plans to mount a full-scale US tour, or if plans are in the works for any new material.
