Dust Bolt To Release New Album Next February

February 23, 2024 will see German thrash metal force Dust Bolt release their much-awaited, fifth studio album, "Sound & Fury," through AFM Records.

Following previously-released, first singles, "I Witness" and the thunderous album title track, today, the Bavarian four-piece has unleashed another new album banger! As vocalist & guitarist Lenny Bruce, who also produced and recorded the new album, promises: "'New Flame' is a high-energy thrasher anthem packing a punch with its straightforward yet deceptively intricate riff. Or as our bassist, Exx Tom, puts it: This is our thrash summer jam! So grab your skateboards, bikes, and surfboards, and let's hit the streets with New Flame, ready to kick some serious butt. This track embodies the spirit of embracing the new, staying open to fresh ideas, and embracing the positive side of change. All within the relentless realm of Thrash Metal. So, let's ignite that new flame and keep the fire burning eternally. We gotta move it on!"

Formed in 2007, Dust Bolt have been resolute and ruthless in their pursuit of metal glory over the last 16 years. Childhood friends with a collective passion for metal in all its various forms, the quartet have established themselves as one of Europe’s leading thrash metal bands. More...

Myrkur Uploads New Single

Myrkur returns to her connection with Scandinavian mythology on her ethereal black metal epic, "Valkyriernes Sang." Her moving vocals, sung in Bruun’s native Danish, give weight and leave room for interpretation.

"I wrote this song after diving into different interpretations of the old Norse sagas again, particularly Njál's saga and the poems about the valkyrier - ‘Spydsangen’ (‘The Song of the Spear’)," she tells. "I have always been fascinated with the figures of Valkyrier in Norse mythology, their power, their role in the battles, in Valhalla and with Odin."

It's the latest single from her forthcoming album "Spine" which sets a new course for the enigmatic composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. This time around, Myrkur reunited with producer Randall Dunn in Sigur Rós’s Icelandic Sundlaugin studio to negotiate the contrast between the deepest human connection of mother and child, and an increasingly disconnected, alienating world, from pandemic restrictions and isolation to the rise of Artificial Intelligence. It’s Myrkur’s most open yet – Bruun’s pristine clear vocals a hyper-sensitive barometer, finely tuned to states where bliss, anxiety, grief, intimacy and psychic wanderlust co-exist, weaving wide-ranging traces of her musical background into rapt and tantalising new forms. Acid Mammoth To Re-Record Debut Album

Greek doom metal band Acid Mammoth has announced that, in addition to recently completing their fourth studio album, they will be re-recording their self-titled debut album, which was originally released in 2017. A statement from the band reads as follows:

"On this day 6 years ago, we released our self-titled debut album on Bandcamp! The album art was done by the amazing Greek artist Yiannis Rumbulias (The Art of Rubus.)

"It was 4 years later, in 2021, that it was released on vinyl by Heavy Psych Sounds!

"This album was the first-ever attempt at recording something doomy, and it bears the enthusiasm of a first recording. We recorded it totally unrestrained from any thought of how it should sound, how long the songs should be, where the solos should go etc. We simply turned our amps on and started recording. Thus, it is quite a spontaneous album.
It differs sound-wise from the albums that followed, as every band evolves their sound with each release. But this album has an impenetrable dark vibe in it that we love.

"However, we’ve always been curious as to how it would sound if it had the ultra-fuzzy super heavy sonic sound of the second and third albums (and the fourth one too.) So, we are re-recording it! This will always be the original release and it is not going anywhere, but the re-recording will offer some more fuzz to those who wish to have it in their life." More...

Being As An Ocean Announces European Tour Dates

Today, melodic hardcore luminaries Being As An Ocean have unleashed their inspirational and empowering new single, "Swallowed By The Earth!" The track grapples with finding meaning in life's trials, offering inspiration through its candid lyrics. You can check out the video below.

The single is the second to drop from the band's forthcoming album "Death Can Wait," out on February 2nd, 2024, via Out Of Line Music. Matching urgent vocals with surging guitars and pummeling drums, "Swallowed By The Earth" provides a sonic lifeline amidst the tumult of life. Lyrically unpacking the search for hope and meaning in times of despair, the single proves Being As An Ocean remain at the forefront of insightful, socially conscious heavy music.

On the motivations behind "Swallowed By The Earth," the band shares: "Swallowed By The Earth is a question of how we find meaning and significance in our trials. Do we let them wash over us, consume us, let them defeat us, or do we use them and our failures as tools for growth? It is about keeping persistence of mindset. We must not let ourselves slip into a victim mentality because of our circumstances, which are temporary, but rather lean into the lessons that each experience has hidden within it. As long as we continue to have faith in a deeper meaning and the untapped strengths that we all have within us and embrace self-reflection, hardship does not have to be earth-shattering, but can become transformative for our souls and character."

Being As An Ocean also announced today that they will hit the road in the UK and Europe in February next year, supporting Currents on their "The Death We Seek Europe and UK Tour" with Oceans Ate Alaska and Sentinels.

The tour dates are as follows: More...

Static-X Premiere New Single & Music Video

Platinum-certified groove and industrial metal band Static-X have just unveiled the official music video for their track "Z0mbie." This song was originally intended for their delayed album, "Project Regeneration: Vol. 2."

While most of the songs on both this upcoming album and its predecessor feature recordings by the late Static-X vocalist and guitarist Wayne Static, "Z0mbie" stands out. It only incorporates a guitar riff originally written by Static himself.

In this track, Xer0, the band's current frontman (also known as Edsel Dope of Dope), takes on the lead vocal duties. The song was composed by Static-X's classic-era lineup of Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda, and Ken Jay. The video was brought to life through animation by Makinita Silva, with Edsel, the current creative director for Static-X, serving as the director for the video.

"Project Regeneration: Vol. 2" recently faced a delay, moving its release date from September 26th to January 26th.

The band is all set to hit the road this week for their upcoming tour, featuring Sevendust, Dope, and Lines Of Loyalty. More...
