Power Trip Announces Plans To Return
Texan crossover thrash metal band Power Trip has announced plans to return to the stage later this year. Vocalist Riley Gale suddenly passed away in August 2020 and the future of the band was uncertain for the following years. The group made a surprise live return in December 2023 with Seth Gilmore on vocals. An update from the band has confirmed plans for more shows later this year with Gilmore behind the mic.
"Nearly four years ago to the day, unbeknownst to us, we would perform for the last time as Power Trip.
"It has been a difficult road since then, marked by deep pain, grief, and everything else that came with losing our brother Riley.
"We know this can’t be undone, and it will always remain part of us. We have thought deeply about the future of Power Trip and what always comes back to us is that this band was founded on resilience, perseverance, and most importantly: a love for the music and for all of the people it has brought us closer to along the way.
"We’ll never have the words to convey our appreciation of the enduring support we’ve received over the years, and we feel as though the time is right to get back on stage for all of you who’ve been there throughout our existence as a band.
With that, we are excited to announce a round of upcoming 2024 performances starting with No Values on June 8th in SoCal.
"Joining us will be our long-time close friend/collaborator, and singer of Fugitive/Skourge—Seth Gilmore—who will be handling vocals for these upcoming shows.
Stay tuned, more info on the way…

Rotting Christ Posts "Like Father, Like Son" Video
Rotting Christ have stood the test of time. While their name has caused plenty of gatekeepers to clutch their pearls, Sakis Tolis and his brother Themis have ascended from Greece's blackened catacombs to one of metal's most formidable bands.
In the echoes of heritage emerges "Like Father, Like Son" – a hymn that resonates with the timeless message of pride, honor and the indomitable spirit of Rotting Christ. The first single off "Pro Xristou" presents a tale of the profound wisdom of a father's legacy, a powerful testament to passion, love and faith. Haunting whispers of a departed father linger, shaping the identity of the son who walks in his shadow.
"Dear brothers and sisters", frontman Sakis Tolis writes. "On behalf of Rotting Christ, I proudly present to you the first video from 'Pro Xristou.' This song is inspired by the strong relationship between a father and son. Covered by a temple of soulful melodies, 'Like Father, Like Son' gives you a taste of the epic sound behind our new album. Thanks for your attention. We hope that you'll enjoy this video, as there are many more to come!" More...

"There are hundreds of species of pitcher plant, but the one that this song is about has been around since the Cretaceous period", mastermind Otrebor writes. "Aristolochia gigantea is the biggest member of this family and that is no coincidence. Giant creatures and giant plants went together!"

Austrian Death Machine Debuts New Music Video
This Friday, February 23, Austrian Death Machine - the unmissable brutal metal project helmed by As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis - will return with their first new album in a decade, "Quad Brutal!" Featuring 10 tracks of heavyweight thrash-infused extremity and sprint-worthy speed, the album will instantly have listeners coming back for more - ready for endless reps and skipping nothing (except maybe leg day).
Today, Austrian Death Machine racks up their fourth and final single from "Quad Brutal," entitled "Judgment Day." Ricky Hoover of deathcore unit Ov Sulfur lends his vocal attack to unrelenting ripper - one of the new album’s most spine-tingling, breakneck tracks with an unforgettable chorus and a punishing closer of unmatched brutality.
Tim Lambesis says about "Judgment Day" and its video:
"Neeyahhh!
"The over-the-top visual theme behind the 'Judgment Day' video represents our promise to keep marching forward and persist in having a good time no matter what happens, until the final moments of Judgment Day make that impossible. Until then, don't be too serious and find a way to keep going! I've found a community of good friends that make it easier to stay on my feet - I wouldn't have made Quad Brutal without my band mates reminding me that I don't need to create Austrian Death Machine songs alone like I've done with many songs before this album." Escuela Grind Drama Escalates Further Online
The ongoing drama surrounding Escuela Grind has escalated further online. Last week, guitarist Tom Sifuentes announced his departure from the band, citing safety concerns related to his hearing. Despite raising these issues with the group, Sifuentes claimed they opted to replace him rather than address his concerns.
Following Sifuentes' public announcement, the band decided to remove him from the lineup before his scheduled final performances.
