Oleander Take a Joyride

OLEANDER has set March 4, 2003, as the release date for their newest studio offering 'Joyride' on Sanctuary Records. The album will be preceded by the first single "Hands Off The Wheel" in January, but fans will be able to get a sneak peak of the track begining Friday, December 13 via www.sanctuaryrecordsgroup.com.

With 'Joyride' -- Oleander's third full-length, major-label album -- vocalist/guitarist Thomas Flowers, guitarist Ric Ivanisevich, bass guitarist Doug Eldridge and drummer Scott Devours have created the most high energy, hard-hitting rock 'n' roll record of their career. These diverse recordings illustrate the depth and growth the Sacramento, CA-based band has experienced.

"We're a rock 'n' roll band. It's that simple," Flowers says. "You can't lump Oleander in with general categories. Oleander writes music about what we live, and we have nothing but passion."

"There are a lot of colors on the palette, and we're not afraid to use them," Eldridge says. "Our first record was very linear. It was our introduction to the business. With our second record, we branched out and used various textures. 'Joyride' is in between the first two, and it includes their best traits."

The full track listing for 'Joyride' is: More...

The Project Hate to Enter Studio in April

Sweden's The Project Hate, featuring Jörgen Sandström of Entombed/Grave fame on lead vocals, have posted the following update via their official web site:

"2003 will be a interesting year for us as well as for you Haters. After the fuck-up with the planned re-recording of the Deadmarch album, we are back on track again, like we ever were off it anyways. We have now booked the Soundlab Studios for 3 weeks in April to record our third installation of domination. Songwriting is going excellent and right now it feels like April is too far away coz with this speed, we'll have the album made in a week. Bringing Petter S. Freed into the band has been a major boost and he's contributed big-time to what we do. Don't worry, everything you love about us will be on the next album, only this time it'll be more of it. Susperia Part with Nuclear Blast

Norway's Susperia, featuring ex-members of Dimmu Borgir, officially confirm they've ended their agreement with Germany's Nuclear Blast Records after two full-length albums, 2001's Predominance and 2002's Vindication.

"First of all welcome to 2003, and may it be good! Susperia have left Nuclear Blast," reveals a statement on the Susperia website. "In a time where crucial decisions had to be made the band have now decided to end their relationship with Nuclear Blast, the record label that released the two first albums of Susperia. The decision is based upon the fact that the label has not fulfilled nor satisfied the professional needs of the band due to lack of co-operation in different areas. A matter of priorities that came to a twist this is, with no further reasons to dwell upon."

"Susperia are currently in heavy negotiations with several record labels all over the world and whom the future partner will be, will be announced as soon as the new deal is worked out. The new and third album, with the working title Unlimited, is already finished and ready to be recorded. This will happen in spring time. The return of Susperia will blow you far away and corrode your skin off!"
