Silent Edge Find New Drummer
Dutch band Silent Edge finally found a new drummer, Marco Kleinibbelink. Marco finished the drum work for the debut CD (to be finally released in May), but because of the difference with the other recordings, all drum parts were re-recorded. This caused some of the other instruments to have to be re-recorded, and this resulted in a delay of the release date.

Mexican Promoter Blames DT Management
A Mexican promoter in charge of the recently-cancelled Dark Tranquillity tour of Mexico/Colombia went on a local radio station Saturday night to explain his version of the events that led to the concerts being jettisoned less than a week prior to their scheduled kick-off date.
Santiago Jimenez, head of Metalipsis Productions, told XHJD 98.9 Monterrey's Saturday metal show "Distorsión" that Dark Tranquillity's management was largely to blame for the cancellations due to their unreasonable last-minute demands and lack of communication in the days prior to the band's scheduled departure from their native Sweden.
The following is Jimenez's explanation for the tour's cancellation, as translated from Spanish and summarized for Blabbermouth.net by Eloy Espinosa, a resident of Chihuahua, Mexico who was planning on attending the Monterrey show: More...
Mike Portnoy say Arch "sounds better than ever"
Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy spent two days last May recording at the Carriage House in Stamford, Connecticut for the hugely-anticipated solo debut from original Fates Warning vocalist John Arch, due later in the year through Metal Blade Records. "I must say that it is soooo great to hear one of my favorite vocalists of all time again!!!," Portnoy wrote on his official web site (www.mikeportnoy.com). "John sounds better than ever!"
Tentatively titled "A Twist Of Fate", the 20-minute EP features additional guest appearances from Fates Warning guitarist Jim Matheos and Fates Warning/Armored Saint bassist Joey Vera. "These songs are awesome and I was able to lay down some smoking drum tracks," Mike said. "John's melodies and harmonies are so incredibly creative and original... He really is one of a kind and it's so great to have him back in action (and I'm honored to be along for the ride!)."
