Disturbed And Chevelle Contrast At Ozzfest

Jimmy Magahern of the Phoenix New Times caught up with Disturbed frontman David Draiman and Chevelle drummer Sam Loeffler ahead of their show as part of Ozzfest on Wednesday (July 2). Both bands are seemingly at the opposite end of the music spectrum, with Chevelle being embraced by the religious right, while Draiman is an outspoken critic of Christian religions -- a theme that surfaces in several songs on the band's latest album, 'Believe'. Asked how the two bands will mesh, Loeffler admitted, "I honestly don't know what it's gonna be like, but with the Ozzfest crowd, crazy' is not necessarily a bad thing!" Vanilla Ice On His Metal Guest Stars

Chart magazine's Nardwuar caught up with Vanilla Ice and asked him about how he's hooked up with Iron Maiden. "Isn't that hardcore man?," Ice asked. "That's awesome dude. They're my heroes man. And it's just an honor, y'know. Just working with Soulfly and Slipknot and all these multi-platinum, multi-talented bands and groups and stuff is just such an honor for me. For them to respect me as a musician as well and to honor me by being on my record with me and I couldn't be more happy."

Atlantis Finished Mixing Debut
