Tool Debuts at #1
Most metalheads learn to ignore charts, but it's always interesting to see when a popular enough metal band does well:
...the latest effort from Tool, Lateralus, debuts at No. 1 behind a whopping 555,000 in sales in its first week.
In addition to the U.S. charts, Lateralus also debuted in the No. 1 spot in Canada and Australia and marks Tool's highest debut and biggest selling week ever. The album also debuted in the top 5 or top 10 in various other countries, such as New Zealand and Norway (No. 2), Germany (No. 5), Holland (No. 7), Sweden (No. 8), and Austria (No. 9).

Dying Fetus Solidify Lineup
Despite rumors of a possible break up, Dying Fetus will indeed continue after some line-up changes.
The band is being helmed by longtime guitarist/vocalist John Gallagher. The new Dying Fetus line-up will feature former skinsman Erik Sayenga (ex-Witch-Hunt), bassist Sean Beasely (ex-Garden Of Shadows), guitarist Bruce Greig (Next Step Up/Together We Fall) and vocalist Vince Matthews (ex-Sadistic Torment) as well as the aforementioned Gallagher.

Petition for OzzFest in Australia
There's a petition over at Metal Shop for Ozzfest to add Australia to its list of destinations. Ozzfest gets a bad rap <sic> for featuring so many nu-metal bands, but it's still a great show and I've discovered a number of bands I like from the couple of times I've gone.
