Tool Debuts at #1

Most metalheads learn to ignore charts, but it's always interesting to see when a popular enough metal band does well:

...the latest effort from Tool, Lateralus, debuts at No. 1 behind a whopping 555,000 in sales in its first week.

In addition to the U.S. charts, Lateralus also debuted in the No. 1 spot in Canada and Australia and marks Tool's highest debut and biggest selling week ever. The album also debuted in the top 5 or top 10 in various other countries, such as New Zealand and Norway (No. 2), Germany (No. 5), Holland (No. 7), Sweden (No. 8), and Austria (No. 9).
