My Christmas Computer Jinx
Thanks to Dark Icon for covering the news this Christmas, as for the second year in a row my computer is giviing me trouble on Christmas... It's tough to enjoy a day troubleshooting hardware. :-( As such, I have some email stuck in limbo, so apologies to those people who sent news that doesn't get posted.
Dream Theater "Webisodes"
Between now and the U.S. release of Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence on January 29th, the DREAM THEATER website will be featuring six so-called "Webisodes" in streaming RealVideo format (you can download RealPlayer 8 Basic for free). Each "Webisode" will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the recording process of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, as well as sneak previews of the six new tracks from the new album. New The Quill CD in Feb.
The Quill will celebrate the release of their third full-length CD, entitled Voodoo Caravan, with a performance at Machine Bar (Hard Rock Café) in Stockholm, Sweden on February 1st. As previously reported, The Quill are now officially signed to SPV/Steamhammer Records for the whole world except Southeast Asia where JVC/Victor Records is their new home.
Chapman Leaves Groinchurn
South African grindcore outfit Groinchurn have confirmed the departure of founding member Mark Chapman. Chapman is Groinchurn's guitarist and vocalist and helped form the band in 1994... It's unclear what prompted Chapman to leave the band, but whatever the case may be it appears the split was amicable.
