"We are very excited to be on tour with The Chariot and The Cancer Bats. We admire both bands very much as far as creativity, energy and both of their outstanding careers. Both bands have such an intense live show its going to be a huge privilege to see them every single night. As far as our show goes, you can expect a longer set, all from Make Your Own History. We will be playing almost the entire record on that tour. Also on this tour, we will be participating in the Toys For Tots program. It's is a program that is run by the United States Marine Corp that collects new, unwrapped toys during the holiday season and distributes them to needy families. Every December, we try to go to a Toys for Tots drive in New York City and donate toys for the kids. Since this year we will be on tour, we figured instead of missing that drive, we will do our own.
"The whole tour with The Chariot we will be accepting unwrapped, unopened toys for this drive and at the end of the tour, we will bring them to the Toys For Tots office in Garden City, New York. Every person that brings in an unwrapped and un-open toy will receive a raffle ticket for a free Stray From The Path shirt (that will be given away during our set) and a 1" Stray From The Path pin as a token of our appreciation for helping out. A lot of families are less fortunate during the holiday season, so it is up to us and to all of you to help make it special. More...

The behind the scenes video clip can be viewed below. Ben Bruce (guitars) describes the process behind the video shoot:
"From 6PM through until 6AM the following morning. One of the most grueling and punishing 12 hours of my life. The video shoot for 'A Prophecy' tested our physical and mental stability. We shot the video in the backroads of downtown LA. Rain machines, fire, cold weather and freezing water conditions in strangers pools were just some of the things we had to endure through out the video shoot. We were all very sick whilst shooting this due to the extreme conditions we were asked to perform in. Blisters on our feet, growling, empty stomachs and lots of make up and hairspray that spent less time where it was intended draining into our mouths due to the rain, but it was all worth going through. The video shoot was quite the experience, and we can't wait to show the world how it has come out." More...

Arch Enemy Playing Summer Breeze 2011
The organizers of the Summer Breeze 2011 festival have issued the following statement about confirming Arch Enemy:
"They belong to the most popular and important bands in the entire metal scene, they are regularly found on the covers of European magazines thanks to their attractive blond front woman Angela Gossow, and they release killer album after killer album. We're talking about Arch Enemy! Their last studio album, 'Rise Of The Tyrant', was released over three years ago, but this hasn't diminished the Swedish-German collaboration's popularity in the least. Quite the contrary, as in the meantime the band led by guitar virtuoso Michael Amott have even foud the time and boldness to conquer such exotic places as the Maldives.
"Being able to prevail on stage in a place like that, it will be an easy feat for them to bring Summer Breeze 2011 crumbling down with their textbook melodic death metal. By the way, the band are feverishly working on a new album, which will hopefully have been released by August 2011. More...

British thrash metal veterans Onslaught has revealed the tracklisting for their forthcoming fifth studio album, "Sounds Of Violence." You can check it out below. The album will be released through AFM Records on January 28th in Europe and February 8th in North America. A special single from the album is to be released for digital download on December 17th, which will feature a cover of the Motorhead classic, "Bomber," as well as the title track from the new album. Money made from the single will go to the Help The Heroes charity, which helps wounded soldiers who are returning from the Middle East.
Speaking on the decision, guitarist and founder Nige Rockett stated: "The demand and advance pre-orders for the 'Bomber' / 'The Sound of Violence' single have been so totally amazing that we have decided that all our profits from this release should be well worthwhile donating to a very special charity, namely Help For Heroes.
"As many of you will have read previously, there is a Battalion fighting out in Afghanistan that use Onslaught as their official combat call sign. Over the past months we have been in regular communication and feel extremely proud of these guys and all the other brave troops that put their lives on the line every day to try and make this world a safer place to live in... it was definitely an easy choice of charity for us to make."
"Help For Heroes was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded Servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The message of the charity is simple: We are strictly non political and non critical; we simply want to help. We believe that anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. These are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life. We may not be able to prevent our soldiers from being wounded, but together we can help them get better."
The tracklisting for the album is as follows: More...

Blind Guardian Conquers Everything In Chicago
After I bought my ticket to the Sacred Worlds and Songs Divine Tour I realized I had never seen Blind Guardian play live, which in turn sparked some questions: would I have to recite Gimli’s entire family tree to get my ticket from will call? Would the audience be acting out the grand tales Blind Guardian spins in real-time? Would I need a suit of armor? A battle axe? Should I ride my war horse or would my lighter travelling mare be better suited to the evening? Fortunately all my questions would be answered by the great bards…
I arrived just as opening act Seven Kingdoms was getting rolling. Hailing from Orlando, Florida these power and speed metal troubadours have the chops and desire to be quite good, even though silky vocalist Sabrina V could use a couple semesters in the Angela Gossow School of Stage Presence for Women. The songs ranged from overwrought to outstanding; set closer “Seven Kingdoms” was the standout as the eponymous tune was Maiden-meets-Yngwie-meets-Doro fun, and Seven Kingdoms was warmly appreciated by the already full house. AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd was convicted of cannabis possession in a Tauranga court this morning. It is the first time Rudd has been convicted of a drug offence, SunLive website reported.
Police discovered the drugs when they executed a search warrant on Rudd's launch at the Tauranga Bridge Marina on October 7th. Inside they found 25 grams of cannabis and a further two grams of cannabis at another location on the boat.
Rudd's lawyer, Craig Tuck, asked community magistrate Robyn Paterson to discharge him without conviction because the "low level" offence could hinder his chances of travelling internationally. More...

3IOB And Alexisonfire Team Up For A Secret Show
Its quite amazing how in the span of just one hour you can go from sitting in a friend’s basement drinking beers to being one of the lucky few in attendance at an exclusive "secret show." My Friday evening on November 27th certainly wasn't planned to go in that direction, but as soon as the text message was received proclaiming that 3 Inches of Blood and Alexisonfire would be performing a secret show under different names in a small, 300 person venue, myself and a few friends were rushed out the door and began our frantic journey into downtown Vancouver, which would transform into one of the best concert memories in my lifetime. Sound eerily similar to the movie "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist?" I hope not. More...
