Power Surge Debuts New Music Video
Balkan traditional heavy metal band Power Surge has released a new music video for the song, "Shadows Warning." You can check it out below. Their first single "Calm Before The Storm" has been very well received, achieving the most video views in August on the NWOTHM Full Albums YouTube channel, and racking up thousands of listeners on Spotify.
Power Surge is a new heavy metal project fronted by singer/ multi-instrumentalist Roko and guitarist Srdjan, both tireless enthusiasts who‘ve been very active in the traditional metal revival of the last 15 years. Roko‘s musical milestones include open air concerts supporting Whitesnake, fronting his own band Flesh and being a go-to musician for Croatian sensation Dino Jelusick. Srdjan has spent most of his career rising through the ranks of UK band Primitai - most recently leading them to a double appearance at Bloodstock festival and European dates with Enforcer and Firewind, has built a reputation as a reliable and competent live guitarist hired by artists such as Paul Di'anno, and has collaborated with Paul Quinn of Saxon.
Power Surge celebrates these musicians‘ passion for the golden age of heavy metal, with influences ranging from speed metal to AOR. Their brooding first single “Calm Before The Storm” showcases the latter side, while second single "Shadows Warning" is a heads-down hard rocker with guitar harmonies and group vocals that will inspire many a live singalong. The Spirit To Release New Album In October
Revered German blackened death battalion The Spirit has revealed the 2nd single, "Room 101," from their upcoming, fourth album, "Songs Against Humanity," that's out October 25th from AOP Records.
Commenting on the song guitarist/vocalist Matthias Trautes says:
"'Room 101' was the first song I finished for the new album. Lyrically inspired by the dystopian classic '1984' by George Orwell, this song carries the listener to a bleak future of repression and the death of free will. It’s one of the shortest The Spirit tracks ever, but it’s a real banger."
"Songs Against Humanity" follows the The Spirit's critically, chart breaching 2022 album, "Of Clarity and Galactic Structures," and marks the anticipated next chapter in their celebrated career of masterful brutality. You can also find the previous single, "Spectres Of Terror" below. More...

Krysiuk's Batushka Changes Name To Patriarkh
Founded in 2018 by mastermind and lead vocalist Bartlomiej Krysiuk and propelled by their critically acclaimed album, "Hospodi," and relentless touring around the globe, the Polish Orthodox black metal icons formerly known as Batushka have revealed their brand new band name, Patriarkh.
Originally founded by Krzysztof Drabikowski in 2015, Batushka released their successful first album, Litourgiya, with vocals handled by Bartlomiej Krysiuk. Three years later, the band split up and both parties decided to keep going with the same name, until a legal dispute resulted in Krysiuk recently changing his band’s name.
Patriarkh is finally free from litigation, and with a clear and fresh vision, the new band looks towards a bright future. Deeply rooted in Eastern Orthodox tradition and music, Patriarkh combine black and doom metal and ushers in a new era with outstanding, ominous religious schemas that conceal their identities amid remarkable liturgies with their fans.
Conveying the spirit of true patriarchs and Orthodox sacredness, the band just returned from an intensive run through Latin America. Patriarkh will soon possess European audiences on their “Prophecy” tour, wrapping up their last shows in Poland before heading to 28 cities in 13 countries. The final Batushka show will take place on 13th December in Melbourne, Australia. More...
