Lucille Releases Debut Single

DYING VICTIMS is presenting LUCILLE’s highly anticipated debut album, "Dawn of Destruction." Formed in 2017, LUCILLE offer fresh blood to Poland’s ever-expanding thrash metal scene. Inspired by classics of the genre such as Slayer as early Megadeth as well as the German school of old Kreator, Destruction, and Living Death, they began spreading their evil through numerous gigs and shows in their native land.
On this recording, LUCILLE paid sonic tribute to the golden days of thrash – years when this music was authentically strong and raw, and before the aforementioned bands set the limits of musical extremes. Soon after those recordings, the Covid madness began, and LUCILLE’s lineup changed rapidly. After a while, Jugen took over as a drummer, and the next year, they found the missing pieces: bassist M. Höllenhund and lead guitarist K. Dragunov. From then on, LUCILLE became a solid quartet. Powered by the atomic energy of a drum attack, quick-ripping riffs, wild solo duels, raw-throated vocals, and bone-crushing bass, they played countless shows and prepared to record their long-awaited debut album.
Titled "Dawn of Destruction," LUCILLE make good on that titular promise with a total thrash explosion that takes the foundation of the first EP and then upratchets everything to an extreme – and authentic – degree. Influences from the elder American and Teutonic gods thankfully still in place, the quartet spit out eight screeds of THRASH METAL solely situated in the years 1985-1988 within a taut-yet-interesting 38 minutes.
Just the guitar tone alone underlines that authenticity, but submit to their straightforward-but-never-simplistic songwriting and you’ll find four men fully immersed in what made those golden years of thrash work their mightiest magick. Just as thankfully here, you won't find any fillers, stylistic experiments, cloying ballads, or modern twists; LUCILLE are nothing if not obsessed with said years, and they thus sow destruction, break spines, and kill poseurs across "Dawn of Destruction."
Don’t be fooled by their moniker: LUCILLE is 666% raw thrash attack with lyrics about doom, diseases, Satanic killers, and death in a post-apocalyptic world. This is their "Dawn of Destruction," which will be out on the 20th of June. More...

Leather Hearse Steaming New Single

LEATHER HEARSE is a project brought to life by Tannon Penland, the guitarist known for his contributions to the instrumental band LOINCLOTH and the ambient enigma GAUCHISTE. The concept of LEATHER HEARSE, named in tribute to the late singer and artist Dwain Curd of '80s hardcore bands Graven Image and Sordid Doctrine, aims to create an ongoing and ever-evolving collective dedicated to the lifelong pursuit of unearthing all that is heavy.
Joining on drums is the masterful Hannes Grossmann, a percussionist celebrated for his work with iconic bands such as TRIPTYKON, NECROPHAGIST, and BLOTTED SCIENCE. Hannes is also in charge of recording and production duties at his Mordor Sound Studio in Nuremberg, Germany.
Emerging from a long hibernation, vocalist Lloyd Siege returns to lead the ceremonies. Known for his work in Richmond, VA’s beloved monolith of crushing heaviness, SLIANG LAOS, Lloyd's powerful and unmistakable voice imbues these latest offerings with a haunting intensity and an air of unease.
Completing this incarnation of LEATHER HEARSE is a gathering of friends and co-collaborators, including fellow LOINCLOTH and GAUCHISTE member Tomas Phillips, whose contributions help shape the band’s unique sonic landscape, infusing waves of ambient depth that expand the overall auditory experience. Below stream one of the five tracks from "Burn in Heaven" - "The Air in the Crypt is Thick." This five song EP is the first of two from Leather Hearse, out now on Southern Lord Records. More...
