Ithaca To Disband Following Final London Show
British metalcore outfit Ithaca has announced that they will be performing a special show at the 02 Academy in Islington, North London on February 8th. This will be the final show from the band, who have decided to call it a day. The band announced and clarified their decision via the following Instagram post:
"Ithaca is coming to an end. This was a huge decision to make, but it’s the right time.
"There’s been no falling out or creative differences, in fact we’re closer than ever, we’re just no longer able to balance our life responsibilities with giving you the standard of art that you deserve, and feel like we’ve fulfilled more than our wildest dreams could have imagined in terms of where this band would take us. Now, we’re ready to put it to rest.
"We don’t quite have the words yet to describe what this band and all of your support has meant to us; that’ll come over time.
"But it’s not the end just yet. We came to this decision together so, true to us, we want to mark the end of this journey with intention and in style. We’ll be releasing a final track, and we’d like to cordially invite you to our funeral: our final headline show, The Cremation Party, where we can grieve together. It’ll be a proper wake- there’ll be DJs, us cracking out old songs we’ve not played in years and, inevitably, lots of crying. Tickets go on sale Friday 1st November 10am, we’ll see you there.
"Love always"
Over the course of their career, Ithaca released two EPs and two full length albums, with the most recent being 2022's "They Fear Us."
As I Lay Dying Down To One Member
Following the recent departures of bass player Ryan Neff, guitarist Ken Susi and drummer Nick Pierce, As I Lay Dying guitarist Phil Sgrosso has announced that he is also quitting, leaving vocalist Tim Lambesis as the only remaining member. The band's planned European tour has now been cancelled, though their album, "Through Storms Ahead" is still scheduled to be released through Century Media on November 15th. A statement from Sgrosso reads as follows:
"Thank you for your patience as I took time to gather my thoughts before speaking on the current state of As I Lay Dying.
"With recent events, including the departure of band members and the cancellation of our European tour ahead of a new album release, it’s clear we’re in a difficult and serious situation.
"Simply put, recent actions have shown that As I Lay Dying no longer offers a healthy or safe environment for anyone involved—whether creatively, personally, or professionally. After witnessing some concerning patterns of behavior, I’ve realized that I can no longer, in good conscience, enable further actions that could negatively affect anyone working within this space.
"For these reasons, I feel it’s in my best interest to completely distance myself, both creatively and personally, from As I Lay Dying. I also want to share my full support for Ryan, Ken, and Nick, who made the choice to step away recently. I’m grateful for our accomplishments and friendship over the past 3 years.
"With 21 years that I have dedicated to this band, it does not sit well with me to leave or abandon what I’ve considered to be my “life’s work.” I don’t feel that I, or others, should be forced out like so many have in the past.
"After all that’s been put into this, I believe that with the right adjustments and restructuring, our music can continue to thrive and explore new possibilities in a healthier environment. Over time, As I Lay Dying has been held back by dysfunction, and I feel that it’s no longer my responsibility to bear that burden.
"Thank you to everyone who has shown support for me and the music of As I Lay Dying. I’m looking forward to putting my energy and creativity into new, more positive ventures in the near future."

Celestial Sanctuary Signs With Metal Blade
Metal Blade Records is pleased to welcome UK death metal outfit Celestial Sanctuary to their esteemed roster.
Forged in 2019, Celestial Sanctuary burst onto the scene with their brutal blend of death metal pulling influence from the likes of Carcass, Dying Fetus ,and Cannibal Corpse and injecting their own fetid flavor into the genre.
Comments the band on their signing; "We are chuffed to bits and extremely proud to have signed with Metal Blade Records. All of us have grown up listening to CDs and records that brandish the mark of The Blade, so to be a part of that history and stand on a roster alongside the best artists in the world of metal is an honor that isn't lost on us. We're well into the writing process for our next album, and having the backing of Metal Blade is inspiring us to write our most brutal, unhinged, and best shit yet. See you fucks on the road!"
Tremonti Unveils "One More Time" Lyric Video
With less than three months until the release of their sixth studio album, "The End Will Show Us How," Tremonti is back with another track for fans. "One More Time" is a driving track backed by Mark’s dark and brooding lyrics as he sings about the madness in the world brought upon so many differing opinions. Backed by Eric Friedman (guitars), Tanner Keegan (bass) and Ryan Bennett (drums), world-renowned guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Mark Tremonti delivers one of the most-memorable songs in the Tremonti catalog. The song is now available via all digital service providers.
Mark Tremonti explains about the song:
"It started with the pre-chorus and chorus idea. When I came up with the opening riff, it really solidified the song. Now, it’s one of the heaviest tracks on the record. It’s going to be one of those songs that translates well live. Thematically, it’s based on all of the madness in the world. There’s so much hatred and violence going on as well as so many polarizing ideologies. That led me to those lyrics." More...
