Abduction To Release New Album In February

UK extreme metallers Abduction will release their highly anticipated new album, "Existentialismus," on 21st February, 2025, via Candlelight.

Following their explosive 2022 album, "Black Blood," which showcased the band's fiercely expansive sound, Abduction are now poised to push their musical boundaries even further. With many bands currently paying homage to black metal’s glory years and just as many attempting to connect unrelated workings to that legacy, Abduction’s music manages to be both recognisably authentic and imbued with its own spirit. And never has this been truer than in the new album, "Existentialismus."

Abduction have also just released their new single, "A Legacy of Sores," which you can check out below.

"The most obvious expansion is in the voice," considers vocalist and founder A|V. "I felt that vocally, I had more freedom to express the lyrics and messages with fewer genre leashes. Given the themes of pain, frustration, and fear involved, it made sense to convey that in its most natural state rather than performing to certain expectations. The vocals and lyrics are important to me, so I let them breathe and counterpoint the bands playing." More...

Magnum To Release Final Live Album With Tony Clark

December 10, 2022 was a memorable night when British rock band Magnum played the final show of their European tour at KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton and, as they had done on all previous nights, wowed their fans from the first to the last note. The concert was recorded by a state-of-the-art audio equipment, which later turned out to be a real blessing because it was – as we know with hindsight – the last official live recording starring Magnum founder Tony Clarkin. The guitarist and main songwriter died unexpectedly on 7 January 2024, just a few days before the release of Magnum’s studio album "Here Comes The Rain."

Due to the huge demand and to mark the first anniversary of Clarkin’s passing, "Live At KK’s Steel Mill" will be available on Steamhammer/SPV from January 10, 2025, for the first time on double CD, triple LP and for digital download. The album presents Magnum as an enthusiastically celebrated act whose repertoire of hits, classics and newer material could hardly be more varied. “It was the perfect evening,” recalls singer Bob Catley. "We finished our The Monster Roars tour in Wolverhampton, KK’s Steel Mill was packed out and the promoter was a passionate Magnum fan. I couldn’t imagine a more worthy farewell to Tony than those recordings."

To pay tribute to their late bandleader, Magnum is set to play an exclusive series of "Tribute to Tony" shows in the UK in January 2025. As a special gesture, Clarkin’s daughter Dionne will showcase two of her father’s favourite instruments to the concerts – his red Telecaster and his white custom guitar, hoping that Clarkin will be watching from heaven. "My father was an extremely modest and humble man who would probably be surprised at how much the large Magnum community continues to love him to this day. He always believed that few people would really care if one day he would no longer be with us. As it turns out, the exact opposite is the case: We all miss him, his huge artistic achievement and his great empathy as a father, friend and musician!" Which is why "Live at KK’s Steel Mill" is undoubtedly one of the most emotional albums in Magnum’s longstanding career! More...

Enforced Unveils New Single "Betting On The End"

Enforced, the unstoppable force of crossover thrash, is back with their blistering new EP, "A Leap Into the Dark." Featuring six powerhouse tracks, this EP delivers everything fans have come to expect from the Virginia-based quintet: searing riffs, unrelenting aggression, and lyrics that pull no punches. Stream the full EP here.

Accompanying the release is the brand-new video for the lead single, "Betting On The End." This incendiary track juxtaposes the idea that “politicians are ’gambling with our lives‘” against the concept that everyday people are doing it for them. "It's a spiral about the devaluation of human life in the modern age. It feels like we're all just chips to be wagered, but at its core, we'd be wagering our own lives regardless. So can you blame an entity for essentially mocking your own behavior? It works both ways and on every level; be it an individual or an overpowered government. The house wins in the end."

Recorded with Lance Koehler, A Leap Into the Dark is a direct follow-up to the band‘s acclaimed 2023 album "War Remains." With three new songs and remastered versions of fan favorites, the EP captures the raw, relentless energy that has become synonymous with Enforced's sound. More...
