Vianova Signs With Arising Empire

Founded in Berlin by brothers Felix and Paul Vogelgesang, this metalcore act Vianova emerged from their shared vision of creating authentic, emotionally-driven music when they relocated to the city in 2014. The lineup solidified in 2017 with the addition of vocalist Alexander Kerski. Between 2015 and 2019, they released a five-track EP and two singles, building their presence in the German live music scene while navigating lineup changes.

Now back with fresh music, Vianova pushes their sound even further. This new chapter aims for a raw, fierce, and dynamic approach in both mixing and songwriting. Influences from genres outside metalcore - such as soul, jazz, R&B, and 80's synths - reflect their commitment to breaking genre boundaries. Accompanying this sonic evolution is a vibrant visual transformation, characterised by a focused and youthful energy that injects fun into a metalcore landscape often perceived as stagnant.

The first single from this new writing cycle, titled "Más Rápido" is an energetic and upbeat track that seamlessly blends the band’s old and new styles. Lyrically, it explores themes of modern working culture and burnout, addressing the pressures of contemporary life. The track was mixed by their producer, Leon Schmidt, and mastered by renowned engineer Jens Bogren, providing a warm, dynamic edge to Vianova's evolving sound. More...

Soilwork Posts New Single Online

Swedish melodic death metal legends Soilwork are back with a brand new single, "Spirit Of No Return," along with a powerful and visually striking music video. The track marks a significant milestone in the band’s evolution, with long-time live guitarist Simon Johansson recently officially joining the ranks of the band. You can check out the video below.

"Spirit Of No Return" showcases Soilwork's signature blend of frenzied intensity, soaring melodies, epic arrangements, and a touch of progressive complexity - traits that have cemented their reputation over the last three decades. Johansson’s contribution to the song’s writing channels the band's essence while bringing fresh energy to their unmistakable sound.

The video is equally captivating, featuring a stunning sequence where the iconic Soilwork symbol is reforged, representing the band’s resurgence and renewed strength. This visual narrative perfectly complements the song’s theme of perseverance and transformation.

Lyrics are dealing with the urge of belonging and fitting in - and how it in the end can be disastrous as you abandon your true self."

Grave Digger To Release New Album In January

In the year 2025 the German metal institution celebrates its 45th anniversary. Founded in 1980 in Gladbeck, Germany, they moved out to conquer the world. Who would have thought that 45 years later Grave Digger would be one of the most important, consistent and influential metal bands from Germany. With the release of the album "Heavy Metal Breakdown" in 1984, an unprecedented career began that will find its logical continuation with their new album "Bone Collector," on January 17, 2025.

"Here it is at last, our new studio album, true to the motto: #gravediggeroldschool. With Tobi Kersting in the band, we have focused on the essentials of our sound again after many years with numerous concept albums: Concise straightforward metal songs that burn themselves into your brain stems after the first listen. 'Bone Collector' doesn't sound like off-the-shelf stuff, but highly energetic, fresh and you'll notice that we had a lot of fun with the songs. We're looking forward to your reaction, the release of the album in January and 45 years of Grave Digger live with you." states band leader Chris Boltendahl.

Today also marks the pre-sale start for "Bone Collector," which will be released as a CD digipak, picture vinyl, colored marbled vinyl, RPM exclusive splatter vinyl and digitally. At the RPM & ROAR Mailorder Shop, the limited splatter vinyl and the digipak are also available as a bundle with the exclusive “Old School” shirt. You can place your order here. Keep Of Kalessin Signs With Season Of Mist

Norway is known for pioneering a legendary branch of extreme metal, but no band embodies the scene's epic resolve quite like Keep of Kalessin.

This band has always possessed fantastic foresight. After all, they are named after one of Ursula K. Le Guin's arch-dragons. Their original lineup did split after two albums of dark, fast and war-faring black metal, but over the past two decades, founding member Arnt Obsidian has brought Keep of Kalessin into the national spotlight. While he and his colossal crew have toured with the likes of Satyricon, Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir, they've carved their own legacy by forging a different path.

With seven albums and three EPs under their hilt, Keep of Kalessin brandish an epic arsenal of extreme metal. The band's mastery at welding blackened melodies and scouring death metal riffs with magical keys and misty synthesizers has rewarded them handsomely. They've scored two Spellemannprisen nominations and scaled to the top of Norway's album charts. To further test their mettle, they became the first Norwegian metal band to compete for a spot in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Today, Keep of Kalessin are cracking open the next chapter of their long and prosperous journey. The band have signed with Season of Mist, who will release their next two albums and reissue some of the defining moments from their extensive back catalogue. More...
