Tribulation Shares "Murder In Red" Video
Sweden’s goth metal maestros Tribulation recently announced the release of their forthcoming 6th studio album "Sub Rosa In Æternum," due 1st November via Century Media Records. The first long player after their award-winning album Where the Gloom Becomes Sound in 2021 they've also dropped a cinematic music video for the record's fourth single, "Murder in Red." You can check it out below.
Guitarist Adam Zaars comments on the new single and lyric video release:
"Draped in the velvet of violent cinema Murder in Red is our operatic homage to the beauty of the macabre. Haunting and deadly. With a lot of encouragement from the band, Brendan went full Giallo on the video, conjuring up his inner Argento to create this truly memorable music video filled with references and passion. It was a pleasure working both with him and Damon again!"
Brendan McGowan adds:
"There’s no better way to visually embrace Tribulation’s evolution into their new sound than with a music video heavily inspired by 80’s Giallo classics like Blood and Black Lace, Inferno, and of course Suspiria. After hearing the first lyric “I found her by the side of the road/lips still glowing like embers” the entire concept immediately revealed itself -
murder is terrifying, but what’s more terrifying than the self and the shadow? Our character hasn't simply died, she's “joined the dead”. We were fortunate enough to be able to film at a number of old and allegedly haunted locations in West Virginia with tons of cooperation from the folks in town (The video’s bartender at “The Troubadour” is the owner of the real Troubadour bar). Combining the psychedelic colours, nostalgic VHS footage, and Katrina’s hypnotising and dualistic performance with the cinematic language of 80’s Italian horror perfectly supports the eerie atmosphere of this very cool track by Tribulation. Special thanks to Damón Zurawski who returned to help with band footage and to Sylvia Poehler from The Troubadour in Berkeley Springs." More...
Scalpture Signs With Testimony Records
When Scalpture came into being in the German city of Bielefeld in 2009, founding guitarist Felix Marbach already had a clear vision: The musical direction was to be death metal without any compromise regarding its roots and values, but at the same time the band aimed to evolve into a singular musical entity with a unique style very much their own right from the start.
With the release of their debut album "Panzerdoktrin" ("Doctrine of Tanks") in 2016 it became apparent that Scalpture had succeeded to reach a first milestone in their quest by adding different facets of heaviness to their death metal foundations that reflect the wide range of the band members' musical influences. With each new album that followed, "Eisenzeit" ('Iron Age', 2020) and "Feldwärts" ("To the Fields," 2022), Scalpture at the same expanded their stylistic horizon, while also defining and focusing a sound of their own.
It is hardly surprising that all of Scalpture's album titles refer to the topic of 'war' that the band has decided to adopt as their prime lyrical theme. Staying away from glorifying stereotypes, their texts are built on detailed historical research and portray the horrors that the abyss of war has caused in some of the darkest hours of humankind. Although the Germans have chosen war as their main subject, Scalpture embraces modern values such as tolerance, peace, and reason.
Currently, Scalpture prepare for their next album to be released in early 2025 as well as a massive tour next year.
Impellitteri Releases "Power Grab" Video
Today, Impellitteri proudly shares a new single "Power Grab," an electrifying, pounding track, accompanied by a new music video, available below. The band's new album - "War Machine" - drops November 8th via Frontiers Music Srl.
About the new track, Chris Impellitteri comments:
"It is the tale of a superpower nation wanting sovereignty at all costs! Lies, manipulation of fact, and a disregard for human life to achieve supremacy! The riff definitely has that Tony Iommi / vintage Black Sabbath feel with a very aggressive rhythm section layered with Rob Rock pushing his vocal range, which creates a high degree of tension similar to war!
"Many of our fans know me and Rob for the guitar shredding and screaming vocals, but Paul Bostaph and James Pulli kick ass on this album, and they definitely make this new music swing no matter how fast, technical, or heavy we play! I must also say Paul Bostaph came into this record and delivered big time with his drumming style! Paul plays some of the greatest Tom fills I have heard!" More...

Sylosis Surprises Fans With New EP "The Path"
Powerhouse metal outfit Sylosis have surprise released their new EP "The Path" ahead of their upcoming co-headlining tour with Fit For An Autopsy.
On the release of "The Path," Josh Middleton comments:
"When we were working on ASOTTC we amassed a lot of material. It was a very creative period and the songs that didn’t make it onto ASOTTC were by no means below standard - far from it! We’re extremely excited to share with you 'The Path' EP. Some of our best material to date! We hope you enjoy it"
The band have also released a video for its title track featuring Debbie Gough of Heriot, who will be joining the band as support across the UK and Europe.
On the EP's title track, Josh continues:
"'The Path' is about my love and obsession for heavy music. It’s all I need. It’s never been a phase or something I’ll grow out of. I’m immersed in this culture and more than anything, I am still a rabid fan! I think previously writing a song about this kind of thing would have been a no-go for me. Maybe it could be perceived as corny or ‘out of character’ compared to some of the bands previous lyrics but this feels like a very important song to me." More...
