More Wacken Bands
More bands have been added to the bill for this year's Wacken Festival in Germany, which happens from August 2-4. These are Soul Doctor, Jag Panzer and Death SS.

MP3 Gone from WinXP
It seems that native MP3 support will not ship with Microsoft Windows XP, the first consumer edition of the Windows OS using the 32-bit NT kernel. It first appeared that Microsoft would ship a low-quality encoder with XP to make their WMA format look better, but they claim that this is not the case and the low-quality codec was only for testing. Windows XP should accept external 3rd party codecs for encoding MP3s, which you must install yourself, however.
