Dave Lombardo Keeps Busy
Slayer is currently working on new material that will feature Lombardo on drums – in the meantime, Lombardo has completed drum and percussion work on two Fantomas albums that will be released separately – finally, Grip Inc.’s Gus Chambers and Waldemar Sorychta are working on new material that will be submitted to Lombardo for evaluation.
Lion Music Sign Sun Caged
Lion Music have announced the signing of another excellent progressive metal act from Holland, SUN CAGED. The self titled debut album is being mixed right now by no one else than Arjen Lucassen(Ayreon/Star One).
Solo But Not Neurotic
Former Neutorica frontman Kelly Schaefer is currently working on a solo project. Recording is happening in Florida, but so far there’s no further news. Schaefer has recently been linked with both Drowning Pool, and the currently unnamed band featuring ex-Guns N’ Roses members Slash, Duff and Matt Sorum.
Halford Taps Lizzy Borden Bassist
Halford have brought in former Lizzy Borden bassist Mike Davis to replace Ray Riendeau. The latter has left the band for personal reasons.
Depswa Opens EvanEscence and Cold Dates
Before embarking on Ozzfest this summer, melodic rockers DEPSWA will be keeping busy playing with not one but two high profile acts. The band, whose Geffen/Interscope Records debut Two Angels and a Dream is scheduled to hit stores on May 20th, has announced they will be playing some dates with EVANESCENCE, who recently exploded on the charts with their hit single "Bring Me To Life", and separate dates with COLD.
