TTE's Dustin and Greg have decided to start a new record label. Their first release is a split EP between two Connecticut bands, Nientara and A Thousand Falling Skies. You can hit up the new official Protocol Records website to hear ATFS's covering Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years."

Godsmack Faceless A Success
Multi-platinum rockers, GODSMACK debut this week in the Billboard Top 200 at #1 with their third album, FACELESS. The band’s #1 chart bow tops its biggest success ever, a #5 debut for their sophomore effort, AWAKE. FACELESS is also a milestone of another kind - the first Rock #1 for the band’s label, REPUBLIC/UNIVERSAL.
FACELESS, which has shipped over 1.1 Million copies, was produced by David Bottrill (Tool) and the band’s vocalist, Sully Erna. The first official single from FACELESS, “Straight Out Of Line,” has been a #1 track at Active and Mainstream Rock and is currently charting in the Top 10 on all rock formats. The video for “Straight Out Of Line” is regularly being played on MTV, MTV2 and Much Music USA along with many regional video shows all over the country. Among the album’s hits is a tried and true one… “I Stand Alone”…the most played rock track of the year 2002 according to BDS. The hit single, previously featured on The Scorpion King movie soundtrack, was nominated for 2 Grammy Awards in 2003.
FACELESS is a departure for the Boston-based four-piece (ed. I don't know about that - it sounds like their first album to me) who now welcome new member, Shannon Larkin on the drums. Not only is there an awe-inspiring injection of raw energy from Larkin’s admittance into the GODSMACK fold, but vocalist, Sully Erna also took this opportunity to test his vocal range throughout the disc. More melody in music and vocals, deeper subject matter and extraordinarily potent guitar solos from Tony Rombola punctuate an evolution that the band stress is not due to any outside influence. Other shining tracks are “Serenity” (the record’s answer to their ‘tribal’ hit, “Voodoo”), “Changes” (a band favorite, with a introspective lyric and complex melody), “I Am” (a powerful exchange between the addiction and the addicted) and the title track “Faceless” (a track that charges at you with a guitar punch right between the eyes). Every track is a source of pride for the band, who feel there is something for every GODSMACK fan on the album.
GODSMACK will be setting out on tour in support of FACELESS starting 4/25 in Miami, FL and will be featured on FOX’s MAD TV that Saturday, 4/26/03.
