Hateform Begins Work On New Album

Hateform issues the following update:

"A couple of years of playing gigs, little line-up changes and other shit hitting the fan, and again it's time for a new Hateform album to emerge. The recordings for the upcoming album just started at the Ansa studio and the release date is set for spring 2010."

"The new guy behind the drums, Tuomo Latvala already took charge and blasted in some amazing drum work. This far the album consists of such working titles as 'Flight Attendants Biological Clock' and 'RailCripple.' The ten tracks will be laid down on an open schedule this time, as the extra stress set by a tight deadline doesn't seem to help in getting the best result. Altough the idea is to get the album done before the summer." More...

Dark Funeral Announces Support For European Tour

Swedish metal band Dark Funeral has issued the following update:

"We’re proud to announce two (of the three) support acts for our up-coming tour throughout Europe; ZONARIA and CARACH ANGREN. On the UK leg of the tour AKERCOCKE will be joining us too. One more band, a third band that will participate on the whole tour, will be announced shortly, so stay tuned!"

Lord Ahriman comments, "I can’t wait to hit the road throughout Europe again. It feels like ages ago since we last toured here (2005/2006). And to make up for this rather long absence from our European fans, to support and celebrate the release of our latest masterpiece 'Angelus Exuro pro Eternus,' we are going to bring out and offer you our biggest and most professional production yet! And as you perhaps can tell, I’m really excited about this. This will be insane! I’m also glad we have managed to put together a truly strong and musically interesting bill for this tour. And I am totally convinced that this will be a killer tour in all aspects. So raise those Metal Horns high. And we will see you in March/April!" More...

Suicidal Tendencies To Release Two CDs

Mike Muir, the frontman of crossover thrash metal legends Suicidal Tendencies, recently revealed in an interview with Abort Magazine that the band is planning to release a new album at the end of this year, as well as a live album in the meantime. An excerpt from the interview reads as follows:

"We haven’t done a record in ten years, but we have done a lot in that time. We have people coming up to us saying ‘You know, you guys are doing shows, why don’t you put a record out and tour off that?’ That’s not what Suicidal is about. It's not doing it just because you don’t think you will get another chance, I want to get out there and prove we are better than we ever were. So going out there the last two years, we have kind of re-baptized the converted, reminding people why they love Suicidal, get them on the phone after the show calling up their friends. If you don’t have that excitement, there is something wrong. We’re getting that excitement out there, where people are really excited about a new record. We’re kind of putting out the old stuff, clearing the deck, like with the DVD, we’ve got a live CD straight from the board from 1995 when Infectious grew, Robert Trujillo on bass and stuff, something straight off the board that you can say, wow, that was 15 years ago.

"With Suicidal, we have two CDs coming out, the one, I call it the Mike Clark record, and I call it that because we got Mike (ST rhythm guitarist) into Suicidal after working with him and the band No Mercy he came in on How Will I Laugh Tomorrow after 1987’s Join The Army. Half of ‘How Will I Laugh’ was actually songs for No Mercy. That was another no brainer, like with Eric, why weren’t we using this for Suicidal? More...

Amalgama Issues New Year Update

New York metallers Amalgama have issued the following new year update:

"Friend, firstly, I want to wish you a very Happy New Year and hope you have a lively 2010 (and for those curious: I pronounce it 'twenty-ten'). 2009 was an interesting year for us in Amalgama: we had our ups with great shows all across the northeastern US as well as our downs, which included landing a spot on the final compilation CD going out with Metal Edge Magazine only for the publication to fold and the issue never going to press. Despite all these peaks and valleys we here in Amalgama are looking ahead and are getting pumped about recording another EP in February. The plan is to head down to ‘Dirty Jersey’ during the month of February and hammer out 5 brand-spankin’ new Amalgama tunes in the studio following a brutal rehearsal schedule this month to get everything as tight as possible.

"Another massive thank-you to everyone who came out last month for the ‘Hard Times’ show and braved the bitter and biting cold weather that has continued to pummel what seems like the whole damn world. Huge thanks to Dryheave, Downcast and Scrap Metal for joining us that evening and helping make it a successful night. We gathered a sizable amount of food donations that went to the Food Pantries for the Capital District which I dropped off personally a few days later. Over the course of the night we played 2 new songs - Amethyst and Forgotten Soldiers - which will be included on the still-untitled new EP. More...

Secrets Of The Moon Announces Full-Time Guitarist

Secrets of the Moon vocalist sG has issued the following update about their live guitarist Ar becoming a full member of the band:

"After nearly 60 shows with this guy we can assure that he's the right person for this job. We always wanted the band to be complete again but we were careful. He went through a lot of highs and lows, through darkness and light with us. He succeeded and became a grand fellow. The time has come to offer him a permanent position within our circle. welcome!

"I started working on on the follow-up of 'Privilegivm' (working title: seven bells). We are going to enter the studio in summer 2010. I feel it will become a very special album for the band. Much is going to change, much is getting even deeper and disruptive. We are alive. Moreover I worked on some special releases with Stefan Belda (Prophecy Productions). People might not believe in the releases of 'Antithesis' and 'The Ambience of a dead star' on our all-beloved format any longer but it's going to happen soon. And there's even one more oddity to be released. Everything occurs at the right time..."
