Valkyrja Posts New Song Online
Swedish black metallers VALKYRJA have uploaded the second song, "Solstice In Withdrawl," off their new album "Contamination" on their MySpace page. "Contamination" was recorded at Necromorbus Studios (Deströyer 666, Watain) with Tore Stjerna at the helm. "Contamination" is the logical successor to the bands debut album "The Invocation Of Demise" (re-issued by Metal Blade Records in July 2009).
The band comments on "Contamination," “The two years which have passed since the ‘The Invocation of Demise' session has been a hectic period of composing, crafting and some line-up changes. During this last summer VALKYRJA manifested the second album. There were no doubts that we would return to Necromorbus Studio, again with Tore Stjerna as producer, and the outcome of this session formed an abominable weapon. January 2010 Metal Blade Records will unleash this dweller of the underworld – by far the strongest material thus far - namely Contamination, a mark of violent and dark Metal for the predator and beast of opposition within man.” More...

The album 'The Conscious Sedation' should be out around June on Metal Blade records worldwide so keep your eyes open."

Six Feet Under Posts Metallica Cover Online
Tampa, Florida death metal band Six Feet Under has posted their cover of Metallica's "The Frayed Ends Of Sanity" on their MySpace page. The cover comes off of their latest album, "Graveyard Classics 3," which was recorded at D.O.I. Digital Audio in Tampa, FL, was mixed at Audiohammer Studios by Mark Lewis, and was produced by Chris Barnes.
Chris Barnes comments about the band's latest chapter in the Graveyard Classics chain, "We went about picking the tracks for this installment of Graveyard Classics by really just trying to search out songs from early on in our musical upbringing, as well as tracks from when we were just fans of heavy music, before we started playing in a band. Once again choosing songs that have really stuck with us over the years, also choosing the songs that we felt would sound interesting when played in the SFU ‘death groove' style."
"Through the years of doing covers, many of our fans have inquired about us covering a Slayer or a Metallica song. It was really something we wanted to do for some time, those two bands being our biggest influences, as well as influencing a generation of death metal musicians. To sum it up…this is a tribute to honor the great teachers that have influenced us as well as the world of metal we all belong to. We hope our fans will enjoy." More...

An East Coast/Southern tour is being planned, as well as European live actions down the line.
Wolvhammer drummer H. R. issued the following statement about the band's formation:
“We wanted to take the things we loved about old school black metal/post-punk/hardcore/doom/rock and infuse that into something truly honest. No bullshit Satanism or sensationalism, just pure honest hatred for religion, capitalism, politics, sheep mentality and typical human behaviour. We wanted to write simple, memorable, and truly hate-filled metal anthems for ourselves and all the other blue collar, working poor, and generally unsatisfied people who are looking for something raw and classic as soundtrack to rise up and fight the status quo around them in any way they see fit to do. Whether you decide to speak up or just completely turn your back on the world, this is for us and all the other people out there that know we've been lied too, and no matter what may have been promised, know that we're all still being lied too. There is no hope.”
Crimson Falls Issues New Year Update
Crimson Falls has issued the following new year update about their upcoming tour plans:
"German weekend tour/frist shows with Friso: 2010 has kicked off for CRIMSON FALLS as well & it started with a bang! Last weekend we played at the cd release shows of our German buddies Lower Hell in Stuttgart & Achern. We had a blast playing there! In Stuttgart we hit the stage at Juha West, a cool youth club with a very enthusiast audience. The day after was even more ass kicking; we played at a packed club in Achern, + 300 paying visitors, horns up! Thanks to Lower Hell for inviting us for their cd-presentations and making this a weekend to remember!
"These shows were also the first shows we did with our interim-drummer Friso Van Wijck. All we can say is that Friso did an amazing job! It only took him two rehearsals with us in the week before the shows to nail a complete live set. Of course we’re looking forward to bring Friso to our next shows in Belgium & Holland as well. Come & check him out on one of the occasions listed below! More...

Project Zooom has uploaded a new song online titled "No Mercy," which can be heard via the band's MySpace page. Project Zooom also issued the following statement about the track:
"Just added a new tune 'No Mercy.' The initial tracks were laid down using a powerful drum and bass line. Then I added backing tracks to add depth to the song. After that, the lead and rhythm elements were detuned as well as distorted to give it a darker undertone. I wanted to create a piece that was unlike some of the tunes here, yet it still retains my signature sound.
"Music is an extension of what I am and what I feel. The pain, the sorrow, the anger and the joy. I want to experience it all and let it out all my demons as well as the angels. It's this arena I live and breath. Thank you for reading and listening."
