In Flames Confirm CBGB Cancellation
A spokesperson at In Flames' management company has confirmed that the group have cancelled their previously announced Sept. 29 show at CBGB in New York City. "Anders' [Fridén, vocals] girlfriend is pregnant. Originally the baby was supposed to come on Oct. 13 but the contractions started yesterday (Sept. 27) already and it seems that it wont take that much more time until he will become a father," the spokesperson said.
As previously reported, In Flames performed a special show at the Roxy in West Hollywood, CA Sunday night (Sept. 26). The group played two full sets at the concert; the first set was the whole new album, "Soundtrack To Your Escape", released on April 6, 2004. The second set consisted primarily of all the classics from the group's previous albums.
Diecast Video Shoot And Tour Update
Boston-based quintet Diecast just shot a video for "Medieval" with acclaimed director Dale Resteghini (Fear Factory, Hatebreed). The track comes off of the band's highly anticipated new album, "Tearing Down Your Blue Skies," set for an October 19th release. Jeremy Wooden (bass) checks in with the following band update:
Diecast just had a very busy weekend. First I'd like to thank Mike Hsu and WAAF for the interview on Harder Faster on Thursday night. On Friday, we shot our first video for our single "Medieval." I'd like to thank Scott Lee for being so cooperative and allowing us to use Fat Cat's if we had needed it. At the last minute we were able to end up shooting the video at Fort Revere in Hull, which was amazing. We were expecting a few cameras and a couple of people for the video. What we got were 4 box trucks full of equipment and a 15 person video crew. Dale and his crew were some of the best people we've ever met. We had camera's on mini railroad tracks, lighting, fog machines, guns, hookers and fire-trucks. For a minute I thought I was playing bass for Britney Spears....it was awesome. I'd like to thank all of our friends we haven't seen in a long time for coming out to be in the video. We even had a surprise guest appearance by the almighty hoods in the video.
On Saturday night we played a hometown show at Club Liquid, which is about a mile from my house. The club took great care of us and the show went well minus the fight that happened and some asshole owes me 150.00 for putting their foot through my bass case. We topped it off on Sunday at WAAF sponsored Locobazooka. Unfortunately, for us and Candiria we went on after Damageplan who closed their set with "Walk" by Pantera. That was a tough act to follow but Candiria ripped it up, brought all the kids running back over and the crowd gave us an amazing reaction. Kids were singing our new stuff all the way to the back of the crowd, which was amazing to us. I'd also like to thank our manager Mike Crowley and his buddy Kevin for helping out all weekend. Last but not least we finally got scrims and a banner, which almost made me cry tears of joy. Thanks everyone for a great weekend and we'll see you soon.
Diecast will also embark on a string of headlining west-coast dates in early November. It has been three years since the band hit this area and these shows are not to be missed.

The group are scheduled to return to the studio in November to record the vocals and mix the effort. A video for an as-yet-undisclosed song off the album will be produced and directed by Paul "Themgoroth" Mäkitalo, a long-time friend of our band. The follow-up to 2002's "Royal Straight Flesh" will contain 11 songs plus a "slightly demolished" cover version of Motley Crue's "Red Hot." A March 2005 release through Regain Records is expected.
Underoath Drop Off Remainder Of Tour
Underoath have dropped off the remainder of their headlining tour with Stretch Arm Strong and The Chariot. Here's a statement from the band:

We feel terrible to do this to all our friends that were expecting to see us, but we must go home to help a friend through a problem. Please still go out to the shows and support the amazing bands we were touring with."

Darzamat New Music Posted Online
Poland's Darzamat have uploaded a couple of soundclips from their recently completed fourth album, "Semidevilish", at this location.
The follow-up to last year's "Oniriad" was recorded at Mamut Studio with producer Maciej Mularczyk and contains 10 songs plus an intro, for a total of 50 minutes of music. Also included with the CD will be a concert video for the song "Era Aggression", filmed at the ninth edition of the "Brutal Assault" festival in the Czech Republic, where Darzamat appeared directly before Cannibal Corpse.
"Semidevilish" is scheduled for release before the end of the year via Avantgarde Records. It will be the group's first album to feature new members Golem (drums, ex-Dragon), Spectre (keyboards) and Nera (vocals, ex-Midnightdate).
Cradle Of Filth Explain Concert Cancellation
Cradle Of Filth have issued a more detailed explanation for the cancellation of their scheduled performance in Ecuador last Saturday (Sept. 25). The group's official statement on the matter reads as follows:
"Cradle Of Filth wish to apologise to all their fans in Ecuador for not making the show in Quito on Saturday. This was entirely out of the band’s control.
"We regret if anybody was hurt and that full information was not passed on to the fans.
"The band, due to a change in airline schedules, had embarked on a long and demanding day to reach Quito — leaving Mexico at 05.00 Saturday and taking three separate flights to get to Quito.Unfortunately when they tried to land in Quito they were told the runway had been closed for maintenance and although it should have reopened, it would not do so until at least 8.30pm; so the plane was then diverted to Cali in Colombia.
"On arrival in Cali they were then told there was no confirmed departure time to Quito, but it would be at least a few hours.
"This meant by the time they flew to Quito, cleared customs, collected equipment, got to the venue and set up the equipment, it would have been some time in the early hours of the following day, before the show would be ready to happen. At this point a decision was made that it was not possible for the show to go ahead."

Agoraphobic Nosebleed Recruits Witte
Now that drummer Dave Witte has freed up his schedule by quitting Burnt By The Sun, he and Agoraphobic Nosebleed will finally have an opportunity to collaborate, something they've discussed off and on for several years. In fact, Witte and ANb guitarist Scott Hull have practiced together before, but nothing more. According to Relapse Records though, Witte will apparently be joining the Agoraphobic Nosebleed roster in the near future, particularly for the purpose of live shows.
