Bleeding Through Performs w/ AFI, More HBB Dates

On the September 11th episode of Headbangers Ball, Jamey Jasta announced the line-up for the third MTV2 sponsored tour. Lo and behold, Bleeding Through will be direct support for headliners Cradle Of Filth along with Arch Enemy and with Himsa supporting. The tour will start this November after Bleeding Through's headlining national tour w/ Walls Of Jericho, Martyr AD and It Dies Today. Speaking to the group in the midst of their second week off since finishing Ozzfest, vocalist Brandan Schiepatti admitted he was bored with off-road life and couldn't wait for the upcoming shows. This is among the longest off time the group has had in a year since the release of their Trustkill Records album "This Is Love, This Is Murderous" in that space touring with AFI, Atretyu, Soilwork, Dimmu Borgir, The Haunted, Sick Of It All, and Ozzfest.

Another workaholic, Marta, the statuesque keyboard player was invited by AFI to perform with them on the MTV Icon program honoring legendary mope-rockers, The Cure. Filming in London, Marta will join Davey Havok & Co to cover "Just Like Heaven" which will be broadcast on MTV in the near future appearing alongside artists such as The Deftones and being introduced to the stage by Marilyn Manson. Cementing their stature as a modern day titan of music, Bleeding Through have been named as one of eight bands ushering in the "Future of Metal" by Revolver Magazine for their Sept issue. This weighty accolade follows the previous declarations that Bleeding Through is the "Next Big Thing" by Spin Magazine (Feb) and a "Band You Need To Know" - Alternative Press (Jan). The group have also been featured guests on MTV2's Headbangers Ball, FuseTV's Uranium and Inside Edition w/ Deborah Norville. More...

Blaze Announce New Members

Posted on the official Blaze website www.planetblaze.com:

As you will all be aware 3 gigs were cancelled this month due to band line up changes, we are now in a position to update you with those changes.

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that both John Slater and Steve Wray are unable to do the tour dates for the rest of the year. As a result, they have both decided not to continue as full time members of the Blaze band.

Blaze Bayley, all at Black Machine and the BMC would like to thank John and Steve for 4+ years of Blood (the real stuff), sweat (gallons of it) and, yes, even a few tears along the way. We wish them well in the future.

Both Dave Knight and Wayne Banks are unable to do the rest of the tour dates this year due to other projects.

On a lighter note, these are the gigs that are confirmed so far between now and the end of the year:

Nuclear Assault Putting Last Touches On Album

The long-awaited new studio album from thrash metal innovators Nuclear Assault is near completion. Ten years in the making and tentatively titled "3ed World Genocide," the album is scheduled for mid-2004 release on Screaming Ferret Wreckords. It will be the follow-up to the 2003 live album "Alive Again" on Screaming Ferret. "Alive Again" was Nuclear Assault's first release in nine years.

Vocalist/guitarist John Connelly, bass guitarist Danny Lilker, drummer Glenn Evans and new guitarist Scott Harrington are wrapping up working on "3ed World Genocide" at the Manchester, NH, studios of Screaming Ferret head Timothy Koukos. Former member Erik Burke also plays guitar on the album, which is being co-produced by Koukos and Evans. Original songs were contributed by Evans, Connelly and Lilker.

"3ed World Genocide" is a rich blend of Nuclear Assault's lethal, politically conscious metal and songs showcasing the band's wicked sense of humor. A few surprises are in store for fans too.

The songs include: More...

Falconer Announce New Members

Falconer guitarist Stefan Weinerhall has posted this message on the band's official website:

On the 18th and 19th of September we held an audition for the few guitarists we had chosen out from those who had applied for the job. We played one song from every album.

On the evening the 18th we went to see Kristoffer perform with one of his coverbands "Copycats" for a full house. It can't be only work. Name a rehearsal weekend with Falconer where everyone is feeling OK on the Sunday. Ha ha!! We never learn!

When we tested the last guitarist he played the songs exactly as I did. Every boing, pling and shugga-shugga was there. But we wanted a good solo guitarist and when he started to do his solos the rest of the band got lost leaving Jimmy to be the only one playing correctly. Hmmm, ehrr well. It really just took only about 20 seconds into the first song and I watched Kristoffer's face: yup it was a fact, Jimmy Hedlund was the guy.

SO WHAT IS ON THE AGENDA NOW?

We'll have a full band to rehearse the new album with but also to rehearse some more old material with Jimmy. All the songs to the next album is written and most of them rehearsed. The title of the next album will be "Grime vs Grandueur."

It feels like it's "for real" now.

Stefan, 21/9-04
