Resistance Post New Song Online

Los Angeles metallers RESISTANCE have posted a new song, entitled "Inhumanation", on their MySpace page. The track comes off the group's forthcoming album, "Patents of Control", which is scheduled for release on October 19 via Lion Music.

According to a press release, "Patents of Control" is a concept album which was recorded at Desert Moon Studios in Anaheim, California, with engineer Patrick Miller. The mix was handled by renowned producer Neil Kernon (QUEENSRŸCHE, NEVERMORE, NILE) at Rax Trax Studio in Chicago Illinois. The CD was mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music, NJ.

The track "Paternal Shift" features a guest solo from Jim Durkin (DARK ANGEL) and a guest vocal performance from Loana D.P. Valencia (DREAMS OF DAMNATION) as the voice of The Group Order Device (G.O.D.) More...

Contrive Mini-Documentary Online

Melbourne's Contrive was recently featured in a mini documentary / rockumentary on TV, which you can now view it via the band's MySpace page, as well as downloaded via the JTV Vodcast page.

They have also set up a channel on You Tube where you'll see recent Live footage when they supported Stone Sour in May.

Contrive drummer Andrew Haug is also host of Triple J's weekly National Metal Program Full Metal Racket since 2001. Over the years Andrew has interviewed such greats as Metallica, Tool, Pantera, Slayer, Ozzy Osbourne and more.

ABC-TV in Australia recently screened a segment on the late night music program JTV featuring Andrew, focussing on his impressive metal knowledge, as well as his relationship with his twin brother and Contrive guitarist/vocalist Paul Haug.

Contrive are currently writing new material to follow up their debut album "The Meaning Unseen."

Soilwork Guitarist Offers New Album Update

Soilwork has issued the following update on the progress of their new album:

"Peter and I just finished the mix of the last song. Which means, the new Soilwork album is done. All I can say, it sound´s excellent... great sound, great playing and a good mix of songs.
Im very happy to have an album in my CD-collection, that no one else has... yet!

So, the case "Soilwork recording 2007" is closed. And, hopefully, the album will be out before the snow starts to fall.

Symphony X Frontman On KNAC "The Vault" Today

Russell Allen, the vocalist for New Jersey progressive power metallers Symphony X, will be the featured guest on KNAC.COM's underground classic metal program "The Vault" (hosted by DJ Will) today (Saturday, July 29) at around noon PST. You can listen to the interview at www.knac.com.

Symphony X's video for the song "Serpent's Kiss" has been posted on MySpace. The track comes off the New Jersey progressive metallers' new CD, which sold around 6,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"Paradise Lost" was released on June 26 via Inside Out Music. The CD was mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Soilwork, Amon Amarth) at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden.

Symphony X is currently on the road in North America with Sanctity and Echoes of Eternity. It will then head over to Europe as the support act for Dream Theater.

Devildriver Added To Ozzfest Second Stage

Santa Barbara, California's DEVILDRIVER has been added to Ozzfest 2007's lineup starting in Dallas, Texas on August 2. They will be playing the second stage at 3:30 p.m. As a result, DEVILDRIVER has been forced to cancel its previously announced U.S. headlining dates which were supposed to take place in August. However, the band promises that it will do a full U.S. headlining tour early next year in support of its new album, "The Last Kind Words", which will be released in the U.S. this Tuesday, July 31 on Roadrunner Records.

DEVILDRIVER will play the following Ozzfest 2007 dates:
