IMPALED - Ross Sewage
“Ah, the dead of winter... my favorite time of year! Well, first I join my family and we start the burning of the Cruel Log. It burns for eight magical days... or for however long we keep pouring the oil from a dead baby seal's fat onto it. Then we take the kids and get a photo of them sitting on Satan's lap at the Church of Satan in San Francisco. We all ask for the coming year to deliver revenge upon our enemies. One of my favorite moments is decorating the XXX-Mess tree with ornamental dongs, dildos, and effigies of Jenna Jameson. Finally we tuck the kids away, and by kids, I mean me. The next day I get up to receive the presents Satan brought for me because I've been naughty all year. YAY!! A new scalpel and bonesaw! For New Year's... I get drunk. Big surprise.”More...
The Legion Announce New Band Members
On the verge of releasing their new album 'Revocation', Swedish blasters THE LEGION announce line up changes :
" After a long search we have finally found a new vocalist for THE LEGION. He's name is Kjetil Hektoen and he's also known for his participation in Crest of Darkness and Enthral. We have already started to work on material for a third album together with Kjetil and we believe that his contribution to the band will increase the quality in our music on many levels. A big thanks goes out to all the people that has auditioned for us or sent us vocal material. Secondly, we want to announce the departure of our bassist Lars Martinsson. Lars has decided to leave the band to continue with his studies. We wish him the best of luck and thank him for all the years of dedication to the band. Kristoffer Andersson from Sargatanas Reign will be filling in for Lars as a session member."
THE LEGION now has a stable line up and will be working on live dates as soon as the opportunity comes in.
Anorexia Nervosa Part With Vocalist
Hreidmarr, the vocalist for raging symphonic black metallists ANOREXIA NERVOSA has left the band:
"Leaving ANOREXIA NERVOSA was definitely not the easiest thing to do as we've shared so much during our time together as this band had become a vivid part of my daily life. For 7 years, the band has been giving me so many opportunities on a musical and human level and has heavily contributed to become the person I'm today. Still, I honestly thought I had reached the end of a personal era with the album 'Redemption Process' and I now feel the need to take a different path. I'm also absolutely proud of what I have been able to achieve with the rest of the band members who will always remain my best friends and I wish them the very best for the future."
ANOREXIA NERVOSA is actively looking for a new vocalist and interested parties can contact : editions.hurlantes@wanadoo.fr and send demos to : Anorexia Nervosa, BP 1064, 87051 Limoges Cedex France.
ANOREXIA NERVOSA have recently released their latest record 'The September ep' in limited edition digipack.

Christmas Lights To The Trans-Siberian Orchestra
This video clip (viewable here or here) has been making its way around the internet for a while now, but I thought I'd share it with our readers. It shows home Christmas lights synchronized to flash in time to a musical score, in this case Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Wizard in Winter" (from The Lost Christmas Eve album). This display was the work of Carson Williams of Mason, Ohio, who spent about three hours sequencing the 88 Light-O-Rama channels that control the 16,000 Christmas lights in his 2004 holiday lighting spectacular. The musical accompaniment is broadcast over a low-power radio station. Snopes' Urban Legends Reference pages says this video is the real thing and not doctored.
After a December 6, 2005 traffic accident in his neighborhood, Carson Williams agreed to indefinitely discontinue his 2005 Christmas light display because it was causing severe traffic congestion problems.
The tie-in to metal, of course, is that Trans-Siberian Orchestra features Savatage (and solo) guitarist Chris Caffrey and former and present touring Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra recently played live on Good Morning America on Wednesday, December 14, and on Live With Regis And Kelly on Thursday, December 15.
I want to wish our readers a safe and happy holidays, merry Christmas or whatever you might celebrate, and a very metal new year!
Sacred Steel Announce Lineup Changes
Guitarists Oliver Großhans and Jörg M. Knittel have left German power metallers SACRED STEEL in order to concentrate on their other projects MY DARKEST HATE and DAWN OF WINTER. Replacing them in the group's lineup are Jonas Khalil (guitar) and Kai Schindelar (bass, also in LANFEAR). Jens Sonnenberg, who previously played bass in SACRED STEEL, has switched to guitar.
SACRED STEEL are currently working on the material for their new album, "Hammer of Destruction", tentatively due next year. The band's most recent CD, "Iron Blessings", came out in July 2004 on Massacre Records.
Throwdown Announce Headlining Tour
Orange County, CA-based band THROWDOWN have justed wrapped up a U.K. tour with ARCH ENEMY. "U.K. fans are just as loyal as they are open to new music," commented singer Dave Peters. "We had dudes in TESTAMENT and THE HAUNTED shirts praising us after our set which was even cooler than it was strange." Their major touring plans for the start of 2006 include a headlining tour with support from THE RED CHORD, STILL REMAINS and A DOZEN FURIES, to be followed by a co-headlining tour with THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER.
Speaking on the tours for the upcoming year, Peters proclaims, "I think it will be successful on a lotta levels and a pairing of four diverse bands with different qualities to offer."

Narnia To Release New Album In Japan In March
Attic Arcade/Gencross has set a March 23, 2006 Japanese release date for the new NARNIA album, entitled "Enter the Gate". The Swedish metallers are currently negotiating a European release for the CD, which is being described by the band as "the most well-sounding and well-performed NARNIA album to date." The follow-up to 2003's "The Great Fall" features backing vocals by Mats Leven (THERION, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, AT VANCE) and contains "the most melodic and catchy songs since 'Long Live the King' from the late '90s but in a brand new sound and approach," according to the band.
In other news, MCM Music will be releasing a CD version of the band's 2003 concert performance ay Owener Rocknacht in Germany. The show, which was previously released on DVD under the title "At Short Notice....Live in Germany", has now been edited and remastered for the CD version. The title remains the same and the release is set for January 23, 2006.
NARNIA's fourth full-length album, "The Great Fall", was released in April 2003 through Nuclear Blast. The CD, which was produced at The Dream Factory in Jönköping, Sweden by Carl-Johan Grimmark, featured guest appearances from former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN/current HAMMERFALL drummer Anders Johansson and SAVIOUR MACHINE singer Eric Clayton.
NARNIA recently parted ways with keyboardist Linus Kåse. Replacing him on some the band's recent dates was Andreas Lindahl.
Wings of Scarlet Announce Final Show
Wings of Scarlet have decided to call it quits and announced their final show. Here is their statement:
"It's been a nice 4 years as a band, most of it anyway. We're not gonna lie, we pretty much hate what's going on in hardcore and it's not fun anymore. We're sick of bands and bullshit people talking about markets and customers. It becomes more apparent by the day that we have nothing in common with most of the people who come out to shows now. It's increasingly frustrating that our style of music has come to represent the antithesis of everything we stand for."
"With that said, we are playing one final show. It will consist of the original line up (no offense to the great guys who have played with us the last year or so). Parker (who plays guitar in Undying now) will be flying back to play the show, along with the other founding guitarist Louie Pahl, Earl will be playing bass if he's not too drunk, Barry pretty much doesnt give a shit, and Shawn will be offending all. We just wanted to play one last show with our long time friends and their current bands."
"So many thanks and cheers to everyone who has had any part in anything weve tried to do. Dan Gump and Life Sentence for putting out the record. All our friends in Milwaukee, Chicago, Minneapolis, and beyond, we thank you, you are in our hearts. Everyone who has sent us emails -whether kind or threatening- this is your last chance to back up your words. Come on out and help us make this a disaster to remember."

Al Jourgensen On Revolting Cocks and Ministry
REVOLTING COCKS, the side project of MINISTRY mainman Al Jourgensen, have pushed back the release date of their new album, "Cocked and Loaded", to March 7, 2006 from the previously announced February 14. Produced by Al Jourgensen, the CD features the contributions of guest artists Jello Biafra (DEAD KENNEDYS), Gibby Haynes (BUTTHOLE SURFERS), Rick Nielsen (CHEAP TRICK), Billy Gibbons (ZZ TOP), Stevie Banch (SPYDER BABY) and Phildo Owen (SKATENIGS) and Robin Zander (CHEAP TRICK). The first REVOLTING COCKS record in more than a decade, "Cocked and Loadded" is being released through Jourgensen's new imprint 13th Planet/Megaforce Records. "It's pretty prurient and juvenile and everything else that REVOLTING COCKS are known for," Jourgensen told RollingStone.com. "It's basically middle-aged men regaining their lost, juvenile delinquency years and being absolutely sophomoric. It's great."
REVOLTING COCKS will hit the road May 5, opening for Jourgensen's other band MINISTRY, who release a new studio album, "Rio Grand Blood", in April. The album, titled after ZZ TOP's 1972 album "Rio Grande Mud", takes aim at Bush America.
"We kind of have this administration that's just a little bit arrogant and very transparent, as far as their agenda," Jourgensen told RollingStone.com. "This little war going on overseas, the little Iraq thing, that's kind of got my goat, too. The arrogance of the right has just got me. All these wimpy liberals — good for Howard Dean, screaming into a mike, showing them the left isn't all about granola and alfalfa sprouts!"
On the subject of his collaboration with Tommy Victor (ex-PRONG) and Paul Raven (ex-PRONG and KILLING JOKE) on the new MINISTRY album, Jourgensen said, "The most fruitful collaboration I've ever done in my life has been this record. The three of us used to be competition, between PRONG, MINISTRY and KILLING JOKE, and now that we've kind of joined forces — shit! We should have done this twenty years ago."
As for what MINISTRY will sound like live? "This is the fastest, hardest, most maniacal record I've ever done."
Ozzy Doesn't Want To Put Out Another Sabbath Album
ContactMusic.com is reporting that Ozzy Osbourne has ruled out a reunion album with BLACK SABBATH, because he doesn't want to tarnish their reputation.
Despite being happy to play with them in one-off live gigs, Osbourne, whose last BLACK SABBATH studio album was in 1978, refuses to return to the studio with his former bandmates.
Ozzy is terrified a new record would not match the standard of previous releases, including "Paranoid" and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath".
He says, "I love the guys and we had fun and all became friendly again. But it's time to move on.
"I don't want to make another SABBATH album, not if it's not up to scratch. I could put any old b**locks out and it would probably sell.
"But what's the point in demolishing such a great thing?"
