Unearthing the Metal Underground: Sad

Greece has birthed numerous classic black metal bands for decades. We’re talking about bands like Rotting Christ, Necromantia, Varathron and Zemial. While this week’s featured band isn’t quite as high caliber as the aforementioned heavy hitters, the Hellenic entity known as Sad has consistently released quality tried-and-true, tortured black metal for nearly 20 years. The duo, comprised of multi-instrumentalist Ungod and vocalist Nadir, is set to unleash its eighth album. Escuela Grind Premiere New Single & Music Video

Escuela Grind is set to release a new EP titled “Ddeeaatthhmmeettaall” on January 12th via MNRK Heavy. This four-song offering from the grind/powerviolence group features a collaboration with Napalm Death's vocalist Mark “Barney” Greenway on the track “Meat Magnet”. A live fan-shot performance of the song from this past summer (sans Greenway) is available for viewing below.

Furthermore, the EP kicks off with “Ball And Chain”, now accompanied by an official music video directed by Michael Jari Davidson (Alice In Chains). Shot during a live show in Mexico City, the video captures the energy of the performance. Recording sessions for the EP were helmed by producer Will Killingsworth, with mixing handled by Kurt Ballou of Converge.

Brutal Assault Adds Its Black Waves Of Bands

Brutal Sabbath is here, bringing a wave of 12 black metal bands. The blackest wave of black metal will undoubtedly be brought by the act whose name Abbath speaks for itself. In fact, we're hearing that he will perform a special Immortal set!

The other bands include Triumph of Death, Impaled Nazarene, Primordial, Uada and more!

Brutal Assault will take place in the Czech Republic at the Josefov Fortress during August 7-10, 2024.

Many Eyes (Ex-Every Time I Die) Premiere New Track

Ex-Every Time I Die frontman Keith Buckley's latest musical project, Many Eyes, has unveiled their second single titled "Mystic Cord" online. The group is gearing up for the release of their debut album, with further details about its launch yet to be disclosed.

Teaming up with Buckley in this venture are guitarist/bassist Charlie and drummer/bassist/backing vocalist Nick Bellmore. The band recently signed with Jamey Jasta's Perseverance Media Group label.

The Bellmore brothers have a long-standing musical collaboration with Jasta, having contributed to various projects overseen by him, including works by Jasta, Dee Snider, Corpsegrinder, among others.

FFDP Premiere New Single Featuring Rob Zombie

A 10th anniversary edition of Five Finger Death Punch's "The Wrong Side Of Heaven, Volume 1" and "The Righteous Side Of Hell, Volume 2" double-album is set to be released on December 01st.

Originally released separately in 2013, the first volume achieved platinum status in the United States, while the second volume attained gold status. This special edition will be available digitally and in vinyl format, presented as a 6-LP box set. Alongside the two albums, the band's 2014 live album "Purgatory (Tales From The Pit)" will also be included in this collection.

As a preview, an online release of a below b-side track of "Burn MF" featuring a guest appearance from Rob Zombie is now available for streaming via YouTube and Spotify for you below.
