Old Dead Tree's Nameless Disease
The Old Dead Tree entered the studio to record their debut album The Nameless Disease. The first two weeks will be spent with Stephan May for the recording of the drums and bass. While Old Dead Tree will work with Andy Classen (Holy Moses, Krisiun, Rotting Christ, etc.) for the recording of the vocals and guitars. Andy will also mix and master The Nameless Disease. This Goth album will be in stores the 17th of March through Seasons Of Mist.
Entombed to Record Live Show for Album
Entombed will be recording their show at Alcazar (Nalen) in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday, October 12th for a possible live album, to be issued in early 2003. In other news, the group will be heading over to Greece next week for a two-date tour with Candlemass and Dark Tranquillity. The details are as follows:

Paradise Lost Announce German Show
Paradise Lost have confirmed they will be playing at Live Music Hall in Cologne, Germany on Sunday, November 3rd. The show will be filmed for Viva music channel's Overdrive show.
Diablo Working on Third Album
Finnish aggro-metallers Diablo — described by some as a "heavier and more aggressive version of Machine Head/Pantera" — are hard at work on their third full-length CD, tentatively titled Eternium, for a fall 2003 release. Diablo's sophomore effort, Renaissance, debuted at position #14 in the official Finnish album charts shortly after its release back in late February.

XFilesX Sign WIth Trash Art!
New Bedford, MA hardcore band XFilesX has signed with Rhode Island label Trash Art! (As The Sun Sets, Backstabbers Inc.). The band has previously released three vinyl EP releases: Beaten Straight, a split with Self Defense, and NBC Mayhem. Look for the group to release their debut full-length with Trash Art! in Spring of 2003.
Cable Finds a Label for the upcoming CD
Last week we reported that Cable was in search of a label to release their next full-length (since problems with their original label materialized). Well, the search didn't take long as the band has now signed with Long Beach, CA's This Dark Reign Recordings. Cable has actually worked with the label before, releasing their Skyhorse Jams EP with them in 2001. Look for the new full-length, Never Trust A Gemini, to be released in early-Spring of 2003. The album will be an enhanced CD featuring video from the recording sessions in addition to some live footage. Cable will then hit the road in May and June to promote the effort.
Curl Up and Die Twice As Busy
Curl Up And Die will be recording not one, but two albums this Winter. One will be a six-song release for Revelation Records, very tentatively entitled You Can Be Through With The Past. The other will also be a six-song release, this time for Status Recordings, and also very tentatively entitled "...But The Past Isn't Through With You." As was the case with their last full-length, recording will take place with Kurt Ballou in Boston.
The Suicide File Update
Massachusetts hardcore band The Suicide File have finished recording their new album for Indecision Records. An MP3 of the song "Laramie" from the effort has been posted here. Look for the album, entitled Twilight, to hit stores in January. In related news, the group will be entering the studio later this month to record two more songs which will appear on a split with RN'R for Championship Vinyl (their debut release). No Mercy Festival Updates
Morbid Angel and Dark Angel are among the acts rumored to fill the co-headlining slot on the forthcoming No Mercy/Easter Festivals 2003 European tour, which is set to include appearances by Testament, marduk, Pro-pain, Nuclear Assault, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Malevolent Creation, Graveworm, Callenish Circle, and Arkhon Infaustus.

Dark Tranquillity Drop off Arch Enemy Tour
Sweden's Dark Tranquillity have reportedly dropped off the upcoming Arch Enemy North American tour. No official reason has yet been given for the group's cancellation, but a statement on the web site of the Jaxx club in Springfield, Virginia (where the tour is scheduled to make a stop on October 31st) indicates that "immigration trouble" is to blame for the band's decision to pull out of the trek, which is due to kick off later this month. Early reports suggest that God Forbid have been tapped to replace Dark Tranquillity on the bill, but this has yet to be confirmed. An official announcement on the matter is expected shortly. More...
Callenish Circle to Enter Studio
Callenish Circle plan to enter Stage One studio with producer Andy Classen in January 2003 to record their fourth album, My Passion, Your Pain. Tracks to appear include: ‘Dwelling In Disdain’, ‘Soul Messiah’, ‘This Truculent Path’, ‘Once More’ and ‘How My Passion Is Your Pain’. In tour news, the band is confirmed to take part in the annual No Mercy/Easter Festivals 2003. Other confirmed bands include: Testament, Marduk, Pro Pain, Nuclear Assault, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Malevolent Creation, Graveworm and Arkhon Infaustus. In other CC news, the band have a new bassist, Rene Rokx. The band wish ex-bassist Roland Schuschke all the best.
Pissing Razors Dump Singer
Pissing Razors and singer Jason Bragg have parted ways due to creative differences. Bragg joined the band in early 2001 and sang on their last album, Where We Come From. PR’s new vocalist is El Paso’s Andre Acosta. He will be featured on the band’s next release, Live In The Devil’s Triangle, due out on November 19th. Meanwhile, due to the line-up change, Pissing Razors have dropped off the upcoming tour with Skinlab, Dope, and Primer 55 that was scheduled to take place in November/December. PR will now tour Europe in January. Following that they’ll begin recording a new album for an April, 2003 release.
