Speedealer In The Studio

According to SPEEDEALER singer/guitarist Jeff Hirshberg, the band has laid down 17 tracks during the current recording sessions at The Plant Studios in Sausalito, California with producer Jason Newsted (ex-METALLICA) and engineer Brian Dobbs, “although I doubt if all will make the grade”, stated Hirshberg. “Those that do not will most likely be released as B-sides/E.P.'s/7"/bonus tracks/etc. Working with Jason has been an eye-opening experience, to say the least. Only two weeks into the recording process and already the knowledge we have accumulated from his endless studio hours has been enlightening...and at times maddening. Maddening in a productive way.” Tentatively entitled Second Sight, SPEEDEALER’s upcoming CD is due in early 2002.

In similar news, Hecate Enthroned are currently working on a European tour featuring Benediction, Agathodaimon and Aeturnus. No tour dates are ready, but expect the event to take place in March 2002.

Emperors New Video

This was posted at Digital Metal:

Here we are. The premiere of Emperor's video for "Empty." Since day one Emperor has always excelled at taking black metal to its highest possible level - "Empty" is no exception. "Empty" just one of the fine tracks off Emperor's newest (and sadly the last) album, Prometheus - The Discipline of Fire and Demise, and for those hearing it for the first time, we strongly suggest listening to it more than 10 times to hear the track's overall complexity. In fact, Prometheus - The Discipline of Fire and Demise in its entirety is reflective of "Empty" and the sheer compositional feat of guitarist/vocalist Ihsahn. Black metal will never be the same without Emperor.

We here at DigitalMetal are extremely pleased to be a part of Emperor's legacy. Why don't you join us? Click here to check it out.
