The Gathering Releases 'The Musical History Tour'
Holland's The Gathering have issued the following update:
After some years of developing a new and groundbreaking way of teaching history, and educating our future history teachers all over Europe, Professor Wim Kratsborn succeeded in creating a project which contains the book of study, together with a CD-ROM containing visuals and sounds together with the learning material for all senses so the students learn to live and breathe this history timeline material. Earlier this month, Professor Wim Kratsborn released an audio CD from the project containing eleven songs performed by Anneke [Van Giersbergen, vocals], Rene [Rutten, guitar] and Frank [Boeijen, keyboards] of The Gathering.
"Our contribution is of course, the audio part. For every piece of the timeline, we created a little piece of music," stated Anneke. "Some spoken-word parts are done by Zlaya, Laurie-Anne [Kinder] and John Hayes. This music is also available on a separate CD.
"It's a nice and somewhat experimental release and fun for you Gathering lovers to check it out. But mind you, this is not an official Gathering release. It's a small piece in the big jigsaw puzzle of Wim and his companions. Nevertheless, it's nice to add to your collection."
More info about the project can be found at www.pastproject.com. You can order the "The Musical History Tour" album through The Gathering webshop at www.4tune-shop.nl.
Brainstorm Finish Mixing "Liquid Monster", Tour
Brainstorm have finished mixing their long awaited new full-length album "Liquid Monster" at House Of Music Studios (Germany) with producer Achim Köhler.
"Some people were surprised about my enthusiastic comments on the new tracks, as I am usually the most critical part of the band right after the recording sessions...", quotes lead singer Andy B. Franck, "and I'm even more than enthusiastic now that I have heard the final versions. The more I listen to the songs, the more I realize what real 'monster' we have created here! It's definitely time for everybody to get their own picture of it!"
"Talking about pictures brings me to our bonus DVD, which will be included in the limited edition of "Liquid Monster"", says guitarist Todde, "it will contain lots of video footage from our last tour, the festivals, off-stage-footage, and some studio sequences for your viewing pleasure, as well as some bonus audio stuff. It will be entitled "Streets, Stages & Studios" and the title says it all, period!"

My Dying Bride Drummer Injured
From MY DYING BRIDE's official website:
"This just in: Shaun Steels has injured his ankle in a canoeing accident before Christmas. At first it was thought to be not very serious, but at the recent filming of The Blue Lotus video it turned out that the drumming has caused the injury to reappear. John from THE PROPHECY has agreed to stand in until Shaun has recovered. The band is now actively writing new stuff, rehearsing for and organising gigs.
Nasum Issue Statement At P3 Awards
As previously reported, NASUM vocalist/guitarist Mieszko Talarczyk has been missing since the tsunami disaster on Dec. 26, 2004. The band was supposed to play the P3 Guld Award Show in Sweden this past weekend, but had cancelled their appearance due to obvious reasons. The members of the band have issued the following update at their website and have posted the statement which was read at the awards show:
"Nasum did not win the award for best metal/rock album of 2004 at the P3 Guld Award show. The award went to In Flames instead, congratulations.
We didn't mind (we didn't expect to win either considering we won it last year), the main thing for us was for the sake of Mieszko to meet each other for the first time since the Cremona show and try to understand the whole situation.
Our official statement was read out loud with lots of devotion by the host Petra Wangler Marklund, and since there has been some talk about it in the guestbook we have decided to publish it here.
Follow this link to read the statement in Swedish and in English.

I'm co-producing the new Thorns album and I also put a great deal of work into the new Satyricon record during our stay. The material is coming along really great and I hope to enter the studio with Frost late summer"-Satyr.
