Bret Michaels Released From Hospital
Since holding a press conference last week, no other word has come out of Bret Michaels' camp. However, the Poison frontman and solo artist has reportedly been released from the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona and is undergoing physical rehabilitation.
The Associated Press reports that Dr. Joseph Zabramski "said he recommended that Michaels wait at least four to six weeks before resuming normal activity. He declined to say when Michaels could resume touring. Doctors will examine Michaels every two weeks until he's recovered.
"Zabramski said Michaels is fully conscious and aware and talking fine, but he has back spasms and headaches when he tries to walk. He could continue getting back pain and headaches, but Zabramski doesn't expect any other long-term effects. He wouldn't say when Michaels was released or whether he was sent home or to a rehabilitation facility.
"The 47-year-old contestant on "The Celebrity Apprentice" is receiving therapy and will probably continue to suffer from severe pain for another seven to 10 days as blood pooled under his brain dissolves. Michaels is a Type 1 diabetic, which limits the available options to ease discomfort."

Celebrity Apprentice: Bret Fires Back
This week’s episode starts off in Donald Trump’s apartment. The place is as you would expect, it’s like standing inside a solid gold jewelry box. Having the group at his place inspires The Donald to get crazy and switch up the teams, moving Bret to work with Holly and Cyndi Lauper on team Tenacity, which is a little strange because Bret came up with the team name Rock Solid, and won two challenges with the team he is now being asked to leave. Oh, the drama of reality television… More...

Bret Michaels Tentatively To Resume Touring in May
Bret Michaels' website has been updated again with a note to friends and fans addressing his health and changes to his tour schedule:
"To all of Bret's friends and fans,
"We thank you all for your continued support and outpouring of well wishes for Bret.
"While additional studies are planned throughout the week to hopefully detect the exact cause of the rupture Bret will remain monitored closely by his medical team to make sure no further complications occur. He is responding well to tests and treatments. Even though yesterday was a minor setback Doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday.
"While Bret is recovering we obviously have some shows that are being rescheduled. We are working to reschedule dates from now until May 21st. At this time we are planning to resume the tour May 26th in Ft. Smith Arkansas provided there are no further complications or setbacks. We will then continue with all scheduled dates throughout the summer and fall, including the June and July tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd. Look for additional information in the days and weeks to come. For those of you with tickets for shows that are being rescheduled, your tickets will be honored on the new dates. Tickets remain on sale for the shows which are being rescheduled although the new dates have yet to be announced."
UPDATE: this posting has since been removed from Bret's site. We're not going to publicly speculate on what that could mean and will leave that up to the reader, until the next update.

Bret Michaels Suffers Brain Hemorrhage
People.com has issued the following report about Poison vocalist Bret Michaels being hospitalized after suffering a brain hemorrhage:
Bret Michaels's health has taken a turn for the worse, PEOPLE has learned: After an excruciating headache late Thursday night, the star was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where doctors discovered he suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his brain stem), according to a source close to the situation.
Michaels, 47, is currently in critical condition. "After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation," the source says. Reps confirm this report is accurate, and tell PEOPLE, "We will have no additional information until further testing is done."
The rocker's latest hospital visit follows his emergency appendectomy in San Antonio, Texas, on April 12. There is no word yet whether this new development is related to the rocker's recent appendectomy or to his diabetes.

Celebrity Apprentice: Trump Wants Bret's Bandana
The sixth episode starts with the end of the last challenge. Bret Michaels is in a positive mood, deciding to go out drinking. “We’re going to ROCK!”
The next morning Sharon Osbourne is still not with the group, Donald Trump begins hinting he may have to make a move here, possibly removing her from the show. Sharon’s strategy to win may be taking a hit, let’s see how this plays out.
For the next challenge the teams must promote an up and coming country star. There are two. Given their non-descript looks and aura of boredom we will refer to them as Country Riser #1 and Country Riser #2. The details are given out at the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame Annex in New York. Trump says he expects both Cyndi Lauper and Michaels to be there one day. Interesting side note: The Annex actually closed just two months after this taping. I don’t have proof it had to do with The Donald’s lobbying for Bret Michaels induction, but it is safe to say this contributed. For the women, Cyndi Lauper quickly takes on the role of Project Manager, for the men, ex-wrestler, Bill Goldberg, assumes the position. More...

Celebrity Apprentice: Bret is Project Manager
This year’s Celebrity Apprentice Reality television show gives us a couple of rock n’ roll “celebrities” as well as comedy gold in Bret Michaels and Sharon Osbourne.
As with the Rock of Love show, the Bret Michaels drinking game will be in play, with a twist, instead of the word AWESOME, we will be using ROCK. I prefer Patron tequila, but for those playing along while reading the column I suggest something from the schnapps family, and for those reading this in the morning, maybe a stiff Bloody Mary, or an ice cold Stella.
