Trees Of Eternity Posts "Broken Mirror"
Today, atmospheric doom metal group Trees Of Eternity has shared a lyric video for new track "Broken Mirror" - the band's first since the tragic loss of lead singer Aleah Stanbridge. The clip features Fredrik Norrman, Mattias Norrman (ex-Katatonia/October Tide), and Kai Hahto (Wintersun, Swallow the Sun(.
"Broken Mirror" is featured on Trees of Eternity's forthcoming album, "Hour of the Nightingale," which will be released on November 11th via Svart Records. The band comments:
"Dear friends, today is the day we can start to celebrate the music, lyrics, and life of our beautiful Queen who so tragically and suddenly crossed the bridge of stars and left this world so young and so soon... So with tears in my eyes but my heart pounding with a proud, victorious beat, I can finally tell you that our long-awaited album, Hour of the Nightingale, will be released worldwide on November 11th through Svart Records and preorders start August 29th.
"Here is the first single from the album, 'Broken Mirror,' with a beautiful and very touching lyric video Vesa Ranta made for the song.
"There really are no words to describe the ultimate weight of the darkness, or the rays of the brightest of light that this album holds within its songs and lyrics. In so many ways, this album turned out to be the most important album I've done in my life, and we both loved it from the first note to the last as we wrote it.
"About Aleah... I have never met a person and a musician more connected to the very core of the absolute emotion and the soul of each note and every word she wrote or sang. She wanted her music and lyrics to be 110% honest and truthful; absolutely nothing less would do. Music was her religion and passion, a gateway to her soul and beyond. There will never be another songwriter or voice like hers that can turn the day into the darkest of night, or turn the darkness into blinding light with just one word or a whisper. More...

Hobbs Angel Of Death Cancels U.S. Tour
After signing with Hells Headbangers back in May, Hobbs Angel Of Death announced an extensive North American tour that was due to kick off August 22nd in Texas. Sadly the trek has been entirely scrapped, with Hells Headbangers commenting:
"With just 3 weeks to go we regret to inform you that Hobbs Angel of Death had to cancel their entire U.S. tour, including Hells Headbash. Furthermore, Goat Semen has been approved for their visas however the U.S. embassy is unable to grant them an interview date to finish the process until October.
"This is a huge disappointment and very annoying considering papers were filed several months in advance with all fees paid in full. Our lawyer has done everything in their power to avoid this but at this point there is no other option but to bring the band in 2017 for a full U.S. tour!
"More details after Headbash regarding dates and cities but dead SERIOUS promoters interested should get in touch by private message on the Hells Headbash FB page here."

High Spirits To Release New Album "Motivator"
Chicago traditional metal act High Spirits is set to release the new album "Motivator" via High Roller Records on September 16th.
Following the self-titled debut album and follow-up "Another Night," High Spirits have already put the “difficult third album” behind them. "You Are Here" was widely regarded as the band’s most accomplished work to date. So after four albums are High Spirits a "mature" band now? Chris “The Professor” Black reflects: “We’re all in our 30s, so I’d say that’s very mature indeed to be having these kind of rock and roll dreams, ha, ha, ha! Some might say that’s too old! But that doesn’t matter at all, because what we do is for all ages. By the way, I think most people will count 'Another Night' as the debut album, whereas the self-titled was actually a demos collection.”
After three albums, or two according to Chris’ way of counting, it surely must have been extremely difficult to keep that "naivety" of the early days? “Definitely, and it’s not something you can fake,” he remarks. “'Another Night' was a bit of a surprise, and that goes for me too! I put way too much pressure on myself for 'You Are Here,' but I couldn’t help it. There were other aggravating factors besides the pressure. Some were under my control and some were not. For example it was recorded during the harshest winter in Chicago in 40 years. I had a blanket over my legs while playing the guitar tracks. But the pressure to follow 'Another Night' was immense, yes. By comparison, 'You Are Here' felt very easy to follow.” More...

The Arbitrary Premieres New Music Video
New Orleans-based instrumental prog metal group The Arbitrary released new album "Entropy" earlier this year, which you can stream in full or pick at Bandcamp here.
With the album out now, The Arbitrary is showcasing one song in particular with a new music video. Check out our worldwide exclusive premiere of "As Colors Bleed Through" below and prepare to be blown away!
Guitarist Jeffrey Fisher comments on the video: "We felt that 'As Colors Bleed Through' was the perfect song to sum up The Arbitrary because it really showcases the different facets contained throughout our record 'Entropy.' By shooting this video out in the wilderness, we were able to simultaneously capture the emotions contained within the song as well as the energy exerted at our live shows."
The band is currently working on a new release as "Entropy" continues making waves throughout the regional and national progressive metal scenes.
"We've really begun to find our niche as musicians, and having only two members really allows us to efficiently channel our energy and improve our craft as we continue playing shows and working on new material," says Fisher. "In the end, the music is all that matters."

Darkrypt To Release Debut "Delirious Excursion'
From India not Scandinavia, emerges a band expanding upon the sound laid down by the masters. Darkrypt will issue the debut album "Delirious Excursion" on October 21st via Transcending Obscurity.
With mixing done by the dark/death metal expert Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studios (Cruciamentum, Chthe'ilist, etc.) and mastering by the legend Dan Swano at Unisound Studios (Asphyx, Bloodbath, etc.), everything has been done to perfectly capture the right sound intended for music of this ilk. With influences ranging from Demilich, Adramelech, Demigod, (early) Amorphis, Funebre and Nihilist, Darkrypt have taken the best elements of all and forged a sound that retains the local flavor and yet creates music that's classic in intent, memorable as well as catchy.
Guest appearances include Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, The Grotesquery, etc.), Nitin Rajan (Primitiv), and the lyrical contribution of Riju Dasgupta (Albatross, Primitiv). Even devoid of all these contributions, the album is rife with excellent riffs, varying tempos capturing a myriad contrasting moods with able percussion propelling the mind-melting structures and thoughtful vocal delivery.
The artwork (shown below) was created by Turkka G. Rantanen (Demilich, Adramelech, Demigod, etc). More...

By no means are we not still great friends and always will be. It was a great ride and Mike was always there for anyone who needed any kind of help and a killer drummer. We wish him all the best on future projects.
"We are pleased and very excited to announce that Darren Cesca will be featured on the next release on percussion. He is well-known within the drummer community and highly looked up to for his talents. For those of you who do not know Darren, he is a beast behind the drum kit, has a lot to offer to the Deeds Of Flesh sound dynamically and fits perfect with what all our visions are. Darren has composed all the drum patterns from start to finish on all the tracks and is doing an amazing job. We will have more news in the weeks ahead in regards to the new album." More...

Morbosatan Announces Vinyl Debut Release Date
Today, Blood Harvest Records sets September 12th as the international release date for Morbosatan's vinyl debut, "The Last Sacrifice," on 7" format.
Morbosatan hail from the cult-metal hotbed of Peru, and have been active with two demos and a MCD since their disgusting birth in 2013. The members have a deep investment in the Peruvian underground, including drummer Toñyn Destructor, who's played with the legendary likes of Hadez and Anal Vomit. Not surprisingly, Morbosatan vomit forth a chaotic, careening form of ancient black/death that could only authentically come from South America. It's a scuzzy, sickening sound familiar in the immortal strains of Vulcano, the aforementioned Hadez and Anal Vomit, and early Sarcofago and Sepultura. And "The Last Sacrifice" is just the beginning!
Hear that scuzzy, sickening beginning with the track "La Bestia Apocaliptica" via Bandcamp in the player below. The EP Cover and track listing are as follows:
1. Intro (Leontina Laiz prayers) & Satanic Kommando
2. La Bestia Apocalìptica

The sinewy, meandering, groove-laden riff… the open, expansive landscape chorus… the cycling, hypnotic lead hook… they all presented themselves to me in a way that we songwriters often hope for, but rarely get to experience. It felt somehow divine, or otherwise supernatural to feel the music and energy coalescing and choosing me as their medium. It was one of the most exciting, satisfying and elusive feelings I’ve ever known.
"Knowing that I was on to something special musically, I began the task of penning lyrics to this new creation. Art was imitating life. I was very newly in love with a beautiful young woman who would eventually become my wife. I yearned to let her know how deeply I felt for her, painstakingly scribbling lyrics asking my love to “take hold of my hand” and promising her she was “never alone.” The song was called “Walk With Me In Hell.” I must admit, at the time, I had absolutely no idea that my quasi-poetic notion of asking my new partner to “walk with me in Hell,” meant that she soon would.
"Four years later, my wife and I found ourselves in a small corner of a neonatal intensive care unit, holding and caressing our first born infant daughter. The ambient hum of medical machinery droned in the background and a panoramic window framing the Shenandoah Mountains sprawled out in front of my new family and I. We gazed lovingly over every detail of our daughter’s face, every freckle on her skin, cataloging every sound and smell the way all new parents do. The difference was that our child had developed an infection during delivery. She was very, very sick and her prognosis hadn’t yet been determined. Later that day, our daughter Madalyn Grace Morton died in my arms. We were walking through Hell. Life was imitating art." More...
