Primal Fear Record Two Covers
Primal Fear have just finished recording two new cover songs for forthcoming Nuclear Blast tribute albums, “Die Young” from Black Sabbath and “Two Minutes To Midnight” from Iron Maiden. Currently the band have started the songwriting process for their new album and after the summer festival season in Europe, including 5 major Open Airs in Germany, Spain & Portugal, the band will enter the recording studio to start working on their fifth album.
Entombed In South Africa
Entombed are to play three shows in South Africa during early May. The band are currently mixing their new, as yet untitled album with producer Pelle Gunnerfeldt. This is to be released in the late Spring.
Testament Get Borked
Borknagar’s Asgeir Mickelson is to take over from Jon Allen behind the Testament drum kit for the upcoming European ‘No Mercy’ tour. Allen is unable to make the tour due to ‘family issues.’
Danzig Shakeup
Danzig are looking for a new guitarist following the departure of Todd Youth for undisclosed reasons. Meanwhile, frontman Glenn Danzig has denied recent reports that he’s talking to Misfits about a reunion tour.
Godsmack "Bombs" Selling 3MIL Records
Godsmack's Robbie Merrill explained to ElectricBasement.com what it is like to be criticized for "only" selling 3 million CDs of their last album, "Yeah, this is the only business in the world where you can sell three million records and people will say it bombed because the first one sold ten million. It's fucked but that is how they think. Like they say, you have your whole life to write your first record whereas on the second one we wrote that completely on the road while we were touring and it was done in six weeks so it was a different kind of thing there. On this one we had some time off after finishing the last tour and we were a lot more rested. Then we have the new drummer, Chris Larkin now so that changed things a little." The Dillinger Escape Plan Recording
The Dillinger Escape Plan are currently working on songs for their new album. As yet untitled, it’s to be released later in the year on Relapse, and is expected to include the following songs: ‘Troy’, ‘Panasonic Youth’, ‘Bipolar Bear’, ‘Apollo’s Creed’, ‘Universal Beauty’ and ‘Sunshine The Werewolf’.
Powerman 5000 Are Free
Powerman 5000 are to release a song called ‘Free’ as the first single from their long overdue new album ‘Transform’. The latter is released in May, preceded by the single in late March.
