Deftones Change Single
Deftones will now be releasing a song called ‘Minerva’ as the first single from their upcoming, self-titled album. The single is expected to be shipped in late April, with the album following a month later.
Single Bullet Theory On Route 666
Philadelphia's Single Bullet Theory have completed their new CD entitled "Route 666." The CD is over 45 minutes of nonstop, in your face sonic brutality mixed with intelligent melody and memorable hooks. The disc was partially tracked and totally mixed by none other then James Murphy (Testament, Death, Disincarnate) at a secluded studio in Northern New Jersey. Limp Bizkit Gets Double Guitar Help
Limp Bizkit will be ulitising the services of two guests guitarists when they play at ‘Wrestlemania XIX’ in Seattle on March 30. They are Korn’s Brian ‘Head’ Welch and former Snot man Mike Smith. And in a somewhat cryptic announcement, Fred Durst has now said that the band’s new album won’t be titled ‘Bipolar’, but is to be called ‘Fetus More’, “until I decide it shouldn’t be”. Whatever it’s called, the record is due in mid-June. More like when he picks a freakin name...I think someone IS bipolar.
Pay-Per-View Kiss Concert
Kiss’ recent concert in Australia with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is to be screened on American TV shortly as a pay-per-view event. Fans in the rest of the world will get the chance to see the show, dubbed ‘Kiss Symphony’, when it’s released as a DVD. A live album of the show is also planned.
Dismal Emerges from the Studio
The Italian gothic band Dismal ,after 40 days in the studio, has finished the recording process for their second album, Rubino Liquido - Three Scarlet Drops... Recorded with the help of a real orchestra and engineered by Marco Calliari, the sound engineer of the famous Italian pop band Subsonica. The album will be released by DreamCell 11 Entertainment in spring 2003 in a luxury digipack package.
Freternia Complete Guitarist Search
Freternia have finally found the lead guitarist they were looking for in Niclas Karlsson. Karlsson joins the band from Zonata and assumes his duties effective immediately.
Poison the Well Update
Poison The Well are currently in the process of completing mixing for their new full-length, "You Come Before You." The album will include 11-12 total tracks and Jacob Bannon (who designed PTW's "The Opposite Of December") will be handling the artwork. Look for the record to hit stores on July 1st via Velvet Hammer/Atlantic. Necrophagia to Embark On European Tour
Necrophagia will embark on their first tour of Europe in April and May, with Exmortem, in support of their latest album, The Divine Art Of Torture, out now through Season Of Mist Records. The touring lineup features Killjoy (vocals), Frediablo (guitar, Gorelord/Wurdulak), Fug (guitar, Wurdulak/Soul Forsaken), Iscariah (bass, Wurdulak/ex-Immortal), Mirai (synths, Sigh) and Titta (drums, Daemonia).
Entitled Necro-Torture Over Europe 2003, the tour kicks off on April 5th at The Old Angel in Nottingham, UK and wraps up on May 3rd at Tunk! in Irun, Spain. Select dates will also include a performance from Labrat.
Agathodaimon Find Bassist
According to Nuclear Blast Germany’s website, Agathodaimon have replaced departed bassist Marko with Darin “Eddie” Smith. Darin has already made his live debut with the band, which have some dates coming up with Cradle of Filth in Germany, France and Belgium.
In other news, the band have begun pre-production on their next album at Kohlekeller Studio. It has the working title Darkened Days and is due out through Nuclear Blast on October 15th
First 'Metal Gods' Dates Confirmed
The first few dates have been announced for The 2003 Metal Gods Tour, a multi-band package featuring Halford, co-headliners Testament, Immortal, Carnal Forge, Primal Fear, Painmuseum, and Amon Amarth. They are as follows:
Apr. 25 – Chicago, IL @ House of Blues, Chicago, IL
April 26 - Cleveland, OH @ TBA
May 04 - Worcester, MA @ TBA
May 11 - Philadelphia, PA @ Trocadero
A May 6th date in Montreal, QC is expected to be confirmed shortly. More dates will be announced soon. The trek, which will mark Rob Halford's first full-length tour of North America in nearly three years, is set to wrap up on the west coast by mid-June.
SYL/Meshuggah Dates Announced
The complete itinerary for the forthcoming Meshuggah/Strapping Young Lad North American tour has been released. Support at all dates will reportedly come from High on Fire.

Construcdead Announce Swedish Dates
Sweden's Construcdead, the band featuring Terror 2000 drummer Erik Thyselius, have lined up the following dates in early April:
Apr. 04 – Belsepub – Gothenburg, SWE (w/ HEADPLATE)
Apr. 05 - Club Frenzy– Gothenburg, SWE
As previously reported, Construcdead — who were recently joined by Godsic frontman Peter Tuthill — are still seeking a new label deal following their split with Cold Records last year.
Bathory Unleash Nordland II Tracklist
Bathory's new album, "Nordland II", will be released on March 31 in Europe and April 29 in North America through Black Mark Records.

Nail Within Part with Vocalist
Israeli thrashers Nail Within (formerly Emblaze) have parted ways with vocalist Yishai Sweartz. According to the group's official web site, Yishai decided to leave the band "due to personal reasons." A replacement singer has yet to be named.
Nail Within's self-titled debut, which was produced by Harris Johns (Sodom, Kreator, Destruction) at Spiderhouse Studio in Lutte, Germany, was released last month through France's Listenable Records. The 11-track effort features guest appearances by Kreator frontman Mille Petrozza, ex-At the Gates/The Crown singer Tomas Lindberg and Assassin vocalist Robert Gonnela.
Internal Bleeding, Loathing Team Up for Tour
Internal Bleeding, Loathing (France) and Deepred (Finland) will team up for a European tour in the fall.
Internal Bleeding announced last month that they were "negotiating a rather tricky recording contract with a major player in the underground industry." No further details were provided. Among the producers being considered for the band's upcoming album, titled "Hatefuel", is bassist Josh Barohn of Suffocation fame.

Iced Earth Split with Tarnowski
Iced Earth have parted ways with guitarist Larry Tarnowski on the eve of the recording sessions for the group's new CD, tentatively titled "Glorious Burden". "[Larry] will continue his studies and we wish him all the best for his future endeavors," Iced Earth mainman Jon Schaffer wrote on the band's official web site. "There will be a few different guest appearances on the record for the solo's and we will be deciding on a touring replacement in the near future. I'll be making that decision after the recording and will let [everyone] know who it will be in the next few months." More...
God Dethroned Confirmed for Rock Hard Fest
God Dethroned and Darkane are the latest artists to have been confirmed for Rock Hard Festival 2003, a two-day event set to take place June 7-8 at Amphitheater in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. A total of 16 bands will appear at the Rock Hard magazine-sponsored festival, the complete lineup for which will be announced during the coming weeks.
