Fleshgod Apocalypse Posts New Album Trailer Online

Only 9 days are left until Italian orchestral-death metal juggernauts Fleshgod Apocalypse release their 5th record, "Veleno," via Nuclear Blast Records. Today the group has unveiled the seventh part of a supporting video trailer series, in which bassist Paolo Rossi shares what listeners can expect from the new opus. Check it out below.

Italian for "venom," "Veleno" marks Fleshgod Apocalypse’s first record in 3 years, since the release of their critically acclaimed record "King" (2016). The 'metal part' of "Veleno" was recorded in Rome, Italy at Bloom Recording Studio and Kick Studio with long-standing collaborator Marco Mastrobuono, while the "orchestral part" - the ensembles - were tracked at Musica Teclas Studio in Perugia. Fleshgod Apocalypse then took the effort over to Grammy-nominated Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, THE Black Dahlia Murder, Epica) at Hansen Studios in Denmark for mixing and mastering. The entire production of "Veleno" took, according to Paoli, about three months. Artwork for the album was created by Travis Smith (Avenged Sevenfold, Opeth, Katatonia). More...

Majestica Posts New Lyric Video Online

Swedish symphonic power metallers Majestica are set to release their debut album Above The Sky, on June 7, 2019, through Nuclear Blast. Today, Sabaton guitarist Tommy Johansson and his cohorts are releasing another taster from the record. Watch and listen to the second single "Night Call Girl" below.

Tommy states, "'Night Call Girl' is a huge tribute to the 80's metal we grew up with. It's a mix between Gary Moore, Rick Springfield, Europe and Journey. The lyrics are all about the classical catch phrases they used in those days and it has one of the best "sing along" choruses on the album. Power metal doesn't go far away from 80's metal so that's why we felt that this tribute to our 80's hair metal heroes fits great on Above The Sky." More...

Destruction Reveals New Album Artwork

Legendary German thrashers Destruction, has revealed the cover artwork to their upcoming 17th studio album, "Born To Perish," which will be released through Nuclear Blast on August 9th. This stunning visualization was created by acclaimed artist Gyula from Hungary, who has also created artwork for Annihilator, Grave Digger, Stratovarius, Tankard and many more.

He has also produced a trailer where you can follow the creation of the artwork. Check it out below.

Gyula states
"Schmier wanted to get a simple and different image than my previous DESTRUCTION covers. When we discussed the new concept, I was happy with this approach because I had the chance to use a different tool, no painting but ink-drawing style.

"When the band mentioned the album title, I got the idea of a crest composition without the typical brave lion or eagle but vultures with two heads and we filled the image with several symbols. I love this Destruction cover - maybe my fave I did for them so far!"

Mastermind Schmier adds:
"We wanted something basic this time. I had something like an emblem in mind, a stamp, a Destruction coat of arms.

"We had so many great colorful graphical covers in the past, this dark album title needed something different. This record marks the debut of the four piece Destruction again, I am very happy with the result and that the great Gyula understood right away what direction we wanna go - the album is vicious, dark and hard hitting, the cover-art is the perfect prelude for that!" Alice In Chains Posts New Music Video Online

Glorious. Heartfelt. Ridiculous. Hilarity is on tap in the new Peter Darley Miller-directed Alice In Chains video for "Rainier Fog" which can be seen below.

“In a world where things are becoming increasingly serious, with ‘Rainier Fog’ we have continued our long tradition of making asses out of ourselves in videos,” says drummer Sean Kinney. “So for all of you that were raised bottle-fed, this one is for you. Mission accomplished.”

“We had a great time working with Peter Darley Miller again,” says vocalist/guitarist Jerry Cantrell. “We made AIC 23 in 2013 with him, which was amazing. We had a blast making the ‘Rainier Fog’ music video, which continues the northwest theme of the record. We hope you enjoy it and have a laugh.”

“The band’s maternal instincts were spot on,” says Miller. “It was a kind and loving environment. I felt special.”

"Rainier Fog" is the title track of Alice In Chains’ most recent release, which hit No. 1 across Billboard’s Rock, Alternative and Hard Music Charts and No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart and earned them a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album. More...

Volbeat Reveals New Album Details

After premiering a short new song entitled, "Parasite" (which can be heard below,) Danish hard rockers Volbeat has revealed that their forthcoming new studio album, entitled "Rewind, Replay, Rebound," will be released on August 2nd of this year. In addition to this, the band has also revealed the artwork for the record, as well as a music video for another new song, "Leviathan," both of which can also be seen below.

Volbeat - Michael Poulsen (guitars/vocals), Rob Caggiano (guitars), Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass), and Jon Larsen (drums) - have built upon their distinct, psychobilly, punk-tinged rock ‘n’ roll sound they are known for, while reaching for new creative summits. "The whole point for us going into the studio, is because you still have something to prove - not just for the fans, but mostly for yourself," says Poulsen. "We would not be able to do this record if it wasn’t for the work we have done in the past. No matter how old the band gets or how many records we do, there is always going to be that signature sound."

Rewind, Replay, Rebound was produced by long-time collaborator Jacob Hansen and co-produced by Rob Caggiano and Michael Poulsen. This marks the first studio album with Kaspar Boye Larsen on bass. To achieve the album’s sound, the band also drew upon a myriad of guests. In addition to again working with backing vocalist Mia Maja on several tracks, they also reunited with the Harlem Gospel Choir. “Cheapside Sloggers” features a ripping guitar solo by Exodus and Slayer guitarist, Gary Holt. Clutch vocalist Neil Fallon is featured on “Die To Live,” the result of touring together and a love for the singer’s gruff and powerful style. Fallon comments, "A few months back, totally out of the blue, I got an email from Michael asking if I’d be interested in singing on a new Volbeat track. I was really surprised and even more so flattered. I gave it a listen and was sold. “Die To Live” is right up my alley because it’s a straight no chaser rock and roller." Raynier Jacob Jacildo (piano) and Doug Corocran (saxophone) of JD McPherson’s band also lend their talents to the song. Ultimately, Volbeat have not lost their passion to create and progress. It’s that which keeps them hungry - and musically honest on the new album.

Today, the band also announces the first leg of the Rewind, Replay, Rebound world tour, with support from Baroness and Danko Jones. This tour will see the band performing in cities including London, Madrid, Berlin, Hamburg, and Stockholm (full dates below) and tickets for all dates will go on sale on Friday, May 24 at 9 AM, BST. Anyone who pre-orders the album from the official Volbeat store will receive a pre-sale code allowing them first access to the 2019 European headline tour (Euro/UK store only) starting at 10 AM, local time on Tuesday, May 21. Members of the Rebels and Angels fan club will also have access to ticket pre-sales at 1 PM, local time. More...
