Torche Reveals New Album Release Date

Torche will release "Admission," the band’s fifth album, and first new music since 2015’s "Restarter," on July 12 via Relapse Records.

"This album is more revealing of who we are. I think the core of the band is happier and more inspired than we have been in some time, and we’ve got somebody new who’s excited to be a part of it. It’s just refreshing. It feels right. It feels real," says guitar player Jon Nuñez, referencing the band’s new line-up which includes a shift from bass to guitar for Nuñez and the addition of bass player Eric Hernandez (Wrong). Steve Brooks (guitar/vocals) and Rick Smith (drummer) round-out the band.

"Slide," a new song from the Nuñez produced album, is available for streaming below. "’Slide’ is one of the first songs Eric came to the table with, fully realized and arranged,” explains Smith. “Eric is a total beast of a songwriter. I suggested he use the first three Gary Numan records as inspiration and he came back at us with some melodically sound material that nailed the Torche vibe."

Admission pre-orders are available now via Relapse’s webstore. The 11-song album is available in various formats (CD/LP/CS/Digital) with several highly-limited colored vinyl options on-sale now.

The album artwork was created by Richard Vergez, a Cuban-American visual artist, who is known for his handmade collages that highlight the meeting of human and technological elements in our modern society. His work has been shown at No Romance Galleries (TriBeCa), Urban Arts Society (Chicago) and Kids of Dada (London). More...

Hellnite Announces Canadian Tour Dates

Thrashers Hellnite are proud to announce they will be embarking on their first ever Western Canadian tour since band founder Paolo Belmar relocated himself and the band to Edmonton, AB from Mexico City. While setting up the band again in Canada, Belmar was backed by Canadian musicians, but for this tour, he will be joined by original bassist Luis “Chaps” Mora and drummer Mauricio Salas for the road adventures through the Canadian Rockies and Prairies. The six-date "Midnight Terrors Western Canadian Tour", which is in support of the same titled album the band released earlier this via Sliptrick Records, will be kicking off in Edmonton on June 21st and ending on July 5th in Regina.

Each member had this to say about their first venture touring Canada.

Paolo: "I’m excited in general, not sure what to expect but I’m sure we’ll do our best. This is our first tour out of Mexico and having my old pals with me again makes me feel confident and I know we will have fun playing together as a band rather than just do it because I already started this and I have to finish it (as I was doing when the album was released), it feels really good to have the original lineup together again."

Chaps: "I’m excited because it was a long time without playing with my best friends and doing this project together. We will put our whole hearts to make you feel the power of a Mexican Metal band."

Mauricio: "To be honest, I'm nervous because it's my first time playing in Canada but I'm pretty sure that every single night of the tour will be a night to remember! So, be prepared to feel the Mexican power!"

Hellnite's debut release "Midnight Terrors" is lyrically a paranormal and sci-fi themed concept album with influences from classic heroes such as Kreator, Slayer, Death along with next-generation thrash and heavy metal such as Havok, Skull Fist. The album was written and recorded by founding member, vocalist, and guitarist Paolo Belmar who formed Hellnite originally in Mexico City in 2010 and has now re-established the band Edmonton, Canada. Their new album will be entitled "Bowels Of Earth" and will be released on August 30th!

"Bowels Of Earth" represents a huge leap forward for these gnarly veterans. Faster, tighter and more viscerally crushing than anything they have produced before.

"We have our Brazilian friend, Guilherme, coming into the band on guitar and" laughs LG. "We’ve been getting energy from that. This recording was a lot more focused and straightforward. We kept things simple, but still with thought behind everything. And there was absolutely no stress!"

Keep your eyes peeled for more info on "Bowels Of Earth!"
