Saxon Unveils New Music Video "1066"

In celebration of their upcoming tour across Europe, British heavy metal legends Saxon has unveiled a new music video for the song, "1066." You can check it out below. The track comes from their latest album, "Hell, Fire & Damnation," which was released last year through Silver Lining Music.

Singer Biff Byford says: "A totally British themed song, the massive invasion… In fact, it was the end of the Saxons really, so I’m singing about the demise of the Saxons. I did a song with Amon Amarth a while back called ‘Saxons and Vikings’ which was about the end of the Vikings in England and the rise of the Saxons, so I thought I may as well do a song about six-seven hundred years later when William the Conqueror comes over and nobbles the Saxons. We’ll be playing the song on the Hell, Fire And Steel tour next month, which is gonna be fantastic." More...

Bloodywood To Release New Album In March

Bloodywood, torchbearers and metal barrier-breakers hailing from India, are thrilled to announce their new album "Nu Delhi," out 21st March via Fearless Records. To celebrate the good news, the band has shared the video for new single "Tadka," which can be found below.

With "Tadka," the band offers up another gritty and groove metal anthem with traditional instrumentation. The song packs a nu metal punch, pairing monster truck-sized riffs and hell-bound screaming with classic sounds that reflect their culture. Bloodywood walks the line between genres fearlessly and without a net, and the result is a hard rock banger unlike which you've heard before.

"‘Tadka’ is a metal tribute to Indian food," the band declares. "The word ‘Tadka’ is a cooking process in Indian cuisine where spices are heated in hot oil or ghee to create a more aromatic flavour... It's about going the extra mile in the pursuit of a greater flavour."

The band continues, "The song highlights the multi-faceted chaos of Indian kitchens that are tasked with perfectly executing centuries-old recipes on a daily basis as well as the immense joy they brings to most people. This is a never-ending love story that connects an entire nation. From the fanciest fine dining restaurants to the simplest road side stall, everyone brings something magical to the table, but the undisputed champion of the cuisine is the Indian household kitchen. When you fuse these recipes and techniques with the love of an Indian family home, the result is unbeatable." More...

Rats Of Gomorrah Streaming New Album

Today, on January 31, 2025, German duo Rats Of Gomorrah unleashed their debut full-length "Infectious Vermin" to spread the death metal plague and wreak havoc around the globe. In celebration of the release, the band has made the entire album available to stream on YouTube, which you can find below.

"This album is the result of our frustration with the metal scene and its reluctance to change," frontman Daniel Stelling explains. "At the same time, we were massively inspired by recent releases from Baest, Frozen Soul, and Conjurer to name but a few. We have also worked in elements that we love from our own catalog, such as crust-infused riffs like the one in 'Lack of Black' and catchy choruses as in 'Rats of Gomorrah'. We deliberately tried not to fulfill too many expectations that everybody has about a death metal record. To achieve this, we took some detours for example into heavy and speed metal territory, and also kept vocal pitching varied. As with previous releases, our lyrical themes address social, political, and environmental issues, which we wrapped up in Lovecraft'ian horror tales. And for the first time, some of the lyrics of 'Infectious Vermin' are rather intimate and personal. Listeners will still need to draw their own conclusions when listening to our songs. Oh, and in case you did not already notice, we were quite generous with the underlying 'rat theme'." More...
